Stop ruining Christmas, store people!! :tantrum:

No kidding! Christmas is ruined for me already. I'd be happy if it was celebrated every other year. Bah humbug!

Okay, Christmas stuff in July is getting WAY outta hand!! I remember when I used to get shocked if the stuff was out around Halloween!!! Why are we a materialistic society?

Suzi
July 18th, 2006, 06:14 PM
Is the stuff out for a "Christmas in July" sale or is it out for good until Christmas?? If it's a Christmas in July sale, I don't think that's so horrible. If it's out for good until Christmas, that's a different story...

I'm all for shopping year round for Christmas but displaying Christmas "crap" in July is nuts! mind you at work the other night we received a shipment of Christmas light xtension cords  I'm not looking forward to putting out Christmas stuff :noqueno:

I was wondering the same thing as Suzi, we have some big sales in July and they normally bring out christmas ornaments and lights that are on sale, then after the sales pack them away again. To me that's normal and a good time to get a bargain!

BUT if it out's for good, then I agree with all the other sentiments!

Melissa

I agree with Suzi and Deb!

Ridiculous. I thought it was crazy that the Dollarama had Hallowe'en stuff out already. I hope it is a special sale.

On the other hand, I quite like the giant blow up snow globe. :shuffle:

Kmart is selling Christmas trees and lights at the moment and Emily was horrified! She kept saying "but it's not even my birthday yet!" Apparently Christmas can't start till after her birthday in September  But I agree with Deb, it won't stay out, after this sale it will go again for awhile (not long though, it will be back by Sep/Oct for good ).

See, here we don't have Christmas in July :dunno: we have boxing day/week after Christmas, what doesn't sell in a month gets boxed up and resold next year.

Bev, I love that blow up snow globe too but everyone and their grandmother has one in our neighbourhood so I didn't want to look like a copy cat

I don't get any paycheques! :errr:

I am expecting a nice fat retro cheque from a new contract, but I was on Mat Leave and LWOP for almost 2 years of the 4 years for back pay. Still, it should be a nice size. We're going to put it towards a roof on the back deck, a central vac, and pea gravel around the swing set/fort. Somehow I don't think it will pay for all of those things. :)

Bev

Perhaps I should say: I want to put it towards those things. I may be in for an argument for all but the pea gravel.

I actually freaked when I realised how many weeks till christmas, I have had the kids pressies on layby since the big Target toy sale in July, and we got a massive swing set and trampoline, and I realised the other day when I was making a payment on them that I only have 8 more payment left to get it all paid off :errr:

I was looking at Christmas photo cards online yesterday. And I'll give them credit~ I don't think most sites have updated from last year yet.

Did you look at these from National Geographic? We've got their cards in the mail, I like them a lot but always wait and hope they will go on sale...they never do.
