80's themed party, who would you go as?

As I was oversea's for my 30th we are planning my party for a couple weeks from now, we tossed up the idea of having a themed party, and the 80's theme came up. Even though we decided not to do it due to not giving everyone a lot of notice (we are saving the idea for a halloween party instead :nod: )

So my question is, would you just dress up in a full 80's get up, or would you go as somebody? if so who?

Tony and I were rolling around laughing at all the prospects last night, some that popped into our minds were the full Miami Vice Don Johnson look for him, and a "like a virgin" Madonna look for me! boy george was mentioned too.

MAN that was a bad era, I swear that era existed just for themed parties! :lol:

I don't know that I would dress up as someone but I would definately tease my bangs, wear jeans that were pegged, up to my boobs, with my shirt tucked in :lol:

My guess is that other people might come in the Miami Vice thing.. but there are so many awesome and horrid movies and films from that period. You could be the Flock of Seagulls guy. :lol2: I think I'd go for a "themed" costume better than just something generic... but that's just me.

We had an '80s party back in 2000. People didn't really come dressed as specific celebrities but here's what it looked like:

Me in some Madonna-ish get up. I had a leather jacket and put big safety pins on it. I had a black bustier layered with a white lace top. Of course, had the crucifix, too! My friend Ron had the acid washed look. We actually gave him the "best dressed" award because all his clothes were ones he wore in highschool :lol: (while the rest of us shopped at the Thrift Shop!)

I had actually teased my hair before coming to the party. I put a lot of hairspray on it and though it was already pretty big. But man, I don't know how my friend Linda did it, but my hair was standing straight up when she teased it.
