Hello, everybody!
It's summer time coming & mosquitos are getting very active. Who can advise any ointment or anything else to treat the consequences of mosquito's bite (for 2 y.o. kid)? Almost every spot, where mosquito bites Regina, turnes into a big (sometimes huge) red growth, sometimes there even water blisters appear. I don't know what to do, everything I used before was of very little help.

I'd try a paste of Adolph's Meat Tenderizer and water.

You're in Russia or the Ukraine right? Do they have a product there called "After Bite" or "Sting Stop"? Those are very good for stopping the itching feeling so she won't scratch.

We use Calamine Lotion on Lauren's bug bites. She also gets big welts from mosquitoes and black fly bites.

As for treating bites, in addition to the advice above, you might try Aveeno Oatmeal bath treatment. It has worked wonders in soothing/healing Catherine's diaper rashes; I think it is also indicated for bug bites.
As for preventing bites, I have an ointment called Badger Anti-Bug Balm. It's made of natural ingredients, no chemical bug repellents. I think it's a fantastic idea since I don't like putting chemicals on my baby's skin. I haven't really had a chance to use it so I can't say if it really works, but here are the ingredients: extra virgin olive oil, castor oil, beeswax and essential oils of eucalyptus citriodora, tea tree, bum benzoin, sandalwood, rosemary, patchouli, lemon grass, balsam fir & orange. It comes in a tin like shoe polish and is recommended for use on children. Their website is badgerbalm.com.

I recently read that rubbing the bite with the inside of a banana peel helps. I tried it on Keira (she gets huge whelts too) and it did keep the swelling down. I didn't research it but it's worth a try.
Also, if you have a real aloe vera plant, break off a leaf and rub the slimey gel on the bite. It also helps with itching.
I've read that sea-breeze astringent works good to remove the sting but may be too harsh for a child and it does sting if they have been itching it. It seems to work for my older daughter if I put it on right away before she starts scratching the bite.

I'm allergic to mosquito bites. It sucks. My choice is benadryl spray right after the bite and oral benadryl before bedtime. It seems to help the reaction from getting worse...

I have been wondering if it's OK to give Catherine (19 mos) Benadryl for mosquito bites & allergies. Anyone know?

I dress our kids in *bug suits* http://www.campingsurvival.com/monetbugsu.htmlI also have one for myself.
Kaitlyn was allergic to mosquito and blackfly bites as an infant and young child - until her immune system caught up and all (or however my Dr explained it to me).
As for remedies - I use AfterBite for kids http://www.cspoutdoors.com/afterbitekids.html for Kaitlyn now. Should Lauren be bitten this summer while we are camping... I will use Calamine Lotion for her.
Good luck.
