View Full Version : Got Gas??
britt December 14th, 2003, 11:29 AM GOT GAS????
My daughter McKenna (1 month) is a Gas Machine.. may it be burping or farting.. I have tried everything that I can think of! :bawl:
What did you have to change in your diet? What did you do to help them?
My first daughter Marissa didn't have nearly as much gas as McKenna does. :(
AllyRae December 14th, 2003, 12:04 PM Hahaha...Bran farts all the time...I just chalked it up to genetics because his daddy does it too. Blech.
britt December 14th, 2003, 12:27 PM Hee Hee.. Yup, McKenna definately gets them both from her daddy!
LoriS December 14th, 2003, 01:22 PM Have you tried giving her Mylicon drops, I find them to work wonders. With my first dayghter, she got horrible gas if I ate broccoli or chineese food, so I have not eaten any of those this time around.
Mandi December 15th, 2003, 12:40 PM Melayna had it really bad the first 2 months or so. She's constantly be burping and of course almost always spitting up at the same time too. I just tried to cut back on dairy and the known gas causing foods. But around 3 months or so she was much better. Hopefully McKenna will be too. :)
Mamey December 15th, 2003, 11:35 PM my neice is a week old and my sister just found out that she should be completely emptying one side before moving on to the other; something about the hind milk helping with digestion.
Good luck!
Amy
britt December 16th, 2003, 12:01 AM I stopped drinking pop and eating chocolate and that's helped a bit.
I do give her Oval it's like the Mylicon drops... it helps too..
but I will try what your sister has to do Amy..
Thanks! :)
squintz22 December 16th, 2003, 08:45 PM I had to give up milk. Sloane can handle the processed dairy, but not milk itself for some reason. Broccoli also gives it to her badly. Mostly though, I just let her get it out, either with some Mylicon, pushing up a bit on her legs, or laying her across my lap and burping her. I also had to give up caffeine - but that was because she was up for HOURS!!!!!
Karri December 17th, 2003, 05:45 PM Oh my....both babies have gas. Elliott strains to toot, but Norah...man oh man..it smells sooooo bad! I keep telling her that girls are supposed to be dainty!!
Both get Mylicon drops and I try to watch what I eat, though I am having a hard time with craving chocolate. But other than that, I dont like dairy, dont drink sode/caffiene, am not eating spicy stuff....
JenM December 21st, 2003, 08:30 PM Hiya Britt :)
Zoe ALWAYS had gas... and it didn't seem to matter WHAT I ate... I just couldn't find a connection. We just dealt with it, unfortunately, and she eventually grew out of it. I think it got lots better around 3 months or so. There were only a few times that it was SO bad she cried. The rest of the time it just gave us the giggles.. because she could really clear a room!
Ami December 21st, 2003, 11:36 PM Alexis has it bad also! Mylicon dpesn't seem to help. I push her legs with them bent into her tummy and out it comes!
