Nichole
May 9th, 2006, 10:57 AM
I thought it would be fun to share/explain what our profile line(s) mean, since there are always a few that I wonder what the heck they are.
So, spill it! What the heck does your profile line mean?
Today, mine says "Come out, Owen!!" because I'm trying to get Trish's baby to quit hiding in her uterus.
My location line says "land o' eye drops" because my boys had pinkeye and we've been having a blast with the antibiotic eye drops. Yeah, a total blast.
Shanna

*post*
I had to post really quick so I could see what it said
Well, mine is pretty straight forward :heee:
I bedazzled my BBs and I'm not Sharmelita
Oh, and the location line is a line from a movie I caught over the weekend that just CRACKED ME UP!! (The Sweetest Thing, the scene in the chinese restaurant :locolaugh )
Barb
May 9th, 2006, 11:01 AM
Mine doesn't mean anything except that I can't think of anything to say. Any day now it will something about Owen being here and congrats Trish. Real creative.
Cami
May 9th, 2006, 11:02 AM
Please note this thread is only for cool people who always think of creative things to say in their profiles!
My boring one means that it is freaking cold in May and I want summer to get here now. Now!
Bridget
May 9th, 2006, 11:10 AM
Mine is just me being an ass. http://www.smileypad.com/v202/Cache/Misc/Buried.gifAnd the answer is... roughly 148 characters between the two lines is how much space you've got.
Jessica
May 9th, 2006, 11:12 AM
Mine says "woohoo!"...I got a promotion in February and was so excited about it that I put it there, and haven't bothered to change it since then. I can't think of anything else to replace it with, so "woohoo!" will probably stick around a little longer.
Trish
May 9th, 2006, 11:12 AM
My profiles are usually used for congratulating someone on here for something, but right now it's all about me and getting this baby out!
Nichole
May 9th, 2006, 11:13 AM
Hey! No changing your lines for this thread! :fado:
I think the profile line is 50 characters. The location line holds a lot, huh?

Hey! No changing your lines for this thread! :fado:
Nana nana boo boo! :tongue2:
My old one (pre-change) was just about the kid's birthday party, and that's old news now, so it was time for a change.

Mine is is a big welcome for my new neice and nephew...They are my SIL's miracle babies concieved during her last attempt at IVF before giving up on having kids.
My location line is dealing with the fact that there is a huge field of ragweed next door to my house that I am seriously allergic to! I'm a big ol snotty sneeze ball. YUMMO!
Dawnie
May 9th, 2006, 11:43 AM
Mine says: E is in a class all her own! WTG, girl!
E is the sister of a close friend who overheard two kids talking about having a gun at school so she told a teacher. They got expelled and now she's receiving crap from the kids at school. I sent her an email telling her I thought what she did was 10000% right and that it was very brave.
Alysia
May 9th, 2006, 11:46 AM
Dawnie~ Wow. Good for her!
Mine is self explanatory. Although I dont think we are doing mandatory OT anymore guess I will find out when I go back to work tomorrow.

Mine says, "That would be greeeat" and my location is "no cover sheet on my TP-60" which are both lines from the movie Office Space, which I love.
Kara
May 9th, 2006, 11:50 AM
Mine says Crazy May cause we are so busy this month! LOL!
Stacey
May 9th, 2006, 11:51 AM
Mine just says "Totally." It can mean so many things depending on your tone. It's also a word I overuse. :blush1: I mean, totally.
I have no location line because I'm in hiding. ;)
Bridget
May 9th, 2006, 11:53 AM
So it was you who stole my red stapler!

OK, mine is still wishing Maggie a happy birthday. Time to change that one.
My location isn't showing up at all.... guess that means I am somewhere else.
Alyssa
May 9th, 2006, 12:15 PM
For now, my profile line is congratulating myself on sticking to my goal of purging my closet of clothes that I don't love or feel flatter me. :) But once Owen arrives today, it'll change. :awink:
My location is a state of mind. A really good place.
AmyP
May 9th, 2006, 12:43 PM
My profile line says "Blame it on Dick" because Dick Cheney's surprise arrival in Indy delayed Kristen's flight to the scrap retreat which made our limo driver ditch us at the airport. My location is "all scrapped out" because that's how I felt when I got back from the retreat. :)
Barb
May 9th, 2006, 12:47 PM
Little disappointed Amy. I was hoping it was something dirty.
LISA
May 9th, 2006, 01:07 PM
Mine is because someone doesn't like me and I feel exactly the same about her
Location, I was listening to a talk show a while back that was syndicated all over Canada and most callers from BC and Manitoba said they hated people from Ontario  can't remember why now..
Bev
May 9th, 2006, 01:10 PM
Lisa, it's because Ontario thinks it is the centre of the universe and that anything west of Manitoba is "out west" and therefore unimportant. :)
Mine says 9 months and 5 chompers which is grossly inaccurate as it is now almost 10 months and 6 chompers. I should change it but I don't know what I should change it to. My location is self explanatory. I can't be bothered to change it all the time.
Nadine
May 9th, 2006, 01:15 PM
I use my profile lines to congratulate people or tell them I am thinking or praying for them unless something is happening in my life I feel worth mentioning...

May 9th, 2006, 01:17 PM
Mine is a reaction I had to a thread I read recently.
Melissa
May 9th, 2006, 01:18 PM
Well, mine was more for yesterday, we had a bunch of rain and it has been dreary here for a couple of days. Now that it is sunny out, I should change it. My location is my location.
Michal
May 9th, 2006, 01:19 PM
I'm from 'out west' and I don't hate people from Ontario, in fact I lived in St.Catherines for a few years. :dunno:

Mine is because I've been working in the garden almost constantly and I'm pleased because it's finally looking somewhat humane again!
My location line is about the FINAL followup after my "eye booboo" two weeks ago that Sheila so helpfully talked me through until I could see a doctor. :)
Theresa
May 9th, 2006, 01:59 PM
Shannan on here did something really nice for me. That's why I have her in my profile line.
My location is just my location, but I like Alyssa's better.

Mine says Blue Moon b/c we had another thread about how often you change your profile line, and my answer was "once in a blue moon." I had a very outdated one, but couldn't thing of anything else to change it to.
My location is just my location...boring!
Alyssa

My location changed to the fact that we found out that my grandfather has non-hodgkins lymphoma. We don't know what stage or where it all is yet. My grandmother and parents will find out the rest of the prognosis tomorrow.
Lisa!
May 9th, 2006, 11:31 PM
There isn't enough room on this board to explain mine....many, many changes in my life and this has become my "mantra" to help me keep a positive attitude about everything that is going on and not get.........Totally. Stressed. Out.
My location refers to my happiness in returning home from a long business trip two weeks ago.
I want to hear about that thread, too...:shuffle:

My profile line is about my smaller twin and how she needs to grow, stay healthy and stay put for at least a few more weeks.
My location right now just says how impotant this place is to me and how important the support and care packages mean to me and my family right now. :hug99:

Mine is pretty self explanitory. Basically Tylor's legs are healed. They have finally grown to be equal length and Dr. Simon has decided that his pins will be removed in November!

Jayne
May 10th, 2006, 12:16 PM
Actually, I've been meaning to ask you for a while, but why are they waiting so long?
It is good to wait a good 18 months from the actual surgery to remove the pins. He wanted to do it In August but I asked if there was any way we could allow Tylor to play soccer this year and either take them out sooner or after soccer season. Soccer ends Nov 1 and so Dr. Simon said he could play and we would take them out probably around the 17th of November. We see the Dr. for x-rays and pre-op info on October 18th.

May 10th, 2006, 03:44 PM
Karri, your new profile picture looks great
So today I was watching my friend's daughter while she went to a luncheon. She was playing with Aaron's battery operated Bertie the Bus (from Thomas) and she ran into the kitchen yelling, "It's stuck! It's stuck!" and crying her little head off. When I looked to see what she was crying about I saw this:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b6db31b3127cce88ac93b64cd400000015108AbtHDRizctD
She had gotten Bertie's wheels all wound up in her hair. I tried to pull it out gently but it didn't work.
So I had to cut it out :shuffle:
I was torn between laughing so hard and feeling sorry for the poor girl. :heee:
LISA

Sorry, Lynn, but my first instinct is to laugh
Jen
May 10th, 2006, 04:20 PM
Lynn! Poor girl. I can see where you would be torn. I got one of those round brushes tangled in my hair as a kid and had to cut my waist length hair to chin so I can relate. At least hair grows :awink: I'm glad you explained, I was really trying to figure out your prof line!
Karri
May 10th, 2006, 04:43 PM
Lynn... :scan: ok...so its a bit funny  and obviously you thought so too, because you took a photo before helping her!
Lynn
May 10th, 2006, 05:16 PM
In my own defense, I took a picture to show her mom so she could see what her daughter did.
However, I did take it because I thought it was such a hysterical sight. I couldn't help but laugh.

The funny thing is that it says not to put it in your hair on the bottom of them. At least some of them do. But I guess she's too young to read!
Mine is for Suzi!

I'm sorry for Susan and Shannon!
My profile line is pretty self-explanatory. My live-in nanny quit a few weeks ago and I put my 2 little ones in daycare. My husband lives 200 miles away during the week so it's been a bit overwhelming getting my 2 kids to daycare and getting myself to work on time. But we've been managing much better than I thought! Go me!

Sorry for the losses in our family... :hug99:
I guess my profile is self-explanitory too. We had a catscan today to see if there is cancer anywhere else in her body, if not we'll have her cancerous leg amputated on Monday and hope for another healthy year with her, if so we'll have to put her to sleep next week. HUGE bummer, she's only 6 and she's a very sweet animal.
My location... well, I saw a commercial spot with Joe Torre and a bunch of the Yankees wearing t-shirts that say that - I can only assume it's some horribly cheesy, way behind-the-eight-ball alternative to Red Sox Nation, and I couldn't resist
Bev

I hate to say it Trish but I was walking around 3cm and 80% for 6 days. Finally 1 hour and 20 mintues after my first contraction Graham was here. That was the night before I was to be induced, born on the day he was to be induced. Good thing MIL is 5 minutes from us and the hospital is only 15 minutes from us. :)
I hope he shows up soon! :)

My babies were always late, too. At this point, you're just DONE, you know?
Anyway, my profile line refers to the fact that so far May has been very rainy. Right now, we're in the middle of a forcasted 16 days of rain... I thought APRIL was supposed to be the rainy month.

Aww Trish, I feel for you. Being overdue sucks! Actually all I've dreamt about the last couple of nights is you and Owen, so my prediction is that he'll be here soon :awink: :lol:Aww, I'm touched! I'm used to being overdue, as both the other boys were, but it still sucks!!!!! And this rain doesn't help, either

It sucks but at least you were prepared to be overdue Trish! Mason was 2 weeks early so by the time Graham arrived I felt like he was 3 weeks late! I hope he doesn't keep you waiting much longer. Maybe he'll be your Mother's Day present. :)

I changed mine again because I thought I have been preparing myself for my grandfather's death and was doing ok but as it gets closer I am so not ready for him to be gone.

Oh ya he is  he's nice and is great with kids don't get me wrong but ... when his sister had her first baby and they thought she might be hemmoraging there was discussion about family banking blood for her, no one let him even think about giving any of his

My location... well, I saw a commercial spot with Joe Torre and a bunch of the Yankees wearing t-shirts that say that - I can only assume it's some horribly cheesy, way behind-the-eight-ball alternative to Red Sox Nation, and I couldn't resist
Okay, while still utterly goofy and cheesy, I saw a tv spot today showing that these t-shirts are part of a fund raising campaign for Memorial Sloan Kettering (a world-reknowned cancer center located in NYC). That makes it *slightly* more forgivable  And I don't think I would get an arguements that I'm definitely cheesy enough to live in the Yankees Universe
ETA: btw, a catscan showed that my cat is otherwise cancer free for now, so we're amputating the leg with the tumor, tomorrow. What a trip! We're very relieved that she'll be with us for a while longer

My profile line says "She pulled to stand!" because Sarah started pulling up a few days ago. And my location says "So maybe she will walk before kindergarten...." because she's been such a late bloomer with gross motor skills I was concerned I'd have to carry her to kindergarten!
Although at this point I still think there's a chance I'll have to send her there with baby food.

Our Tv is broken and it is playoff season, so now Ben is spending time with me rather than having his butt glued to the couch.

So glad about your kitty, Kristen! :hug99:
I changed mine to reflect the fact that we're on day 5 now of rain and I'm getting a little tired of it.

It's just like the "winter boyfriend" in Fever Pitch! Of course, if you haven't seen the movie this makes no sense whatsoever. Our Tv is broken and it is playoff season, so now Ben is spending time with me rather than having his butt glued to the couch.

You and me both, Theresa, so I changed mine to say I'm helping you with the ark. Did you see the news this morning? There was a woman who drove around some barriers in Simsbury and got her car stuck on the flooded street yesterday. :noqueno: The Simsbury FD came out with their life raft to "rescue" her even though I'm sure she could have walked out since it wasn't fast flowing water.

Um lets see, mine is parying for Brandi's twins and Land of dust dust and tumble weeds, the reason (well part of it any how) that I hate where I live. Trade you dust for some of your rain :heee: It was so bad today I looked out the window and I couldn't see my van that was parked 5 feet from my front door :(

Mine refers to the fact that I seem to be the last to find EVERYTHING out...I accidentally found out 2 days ago that one of my fellow MD's (an OB) hasn't had his contract renewed- good thing I found out, because I've had other people (outsiders) mentioning it to me the last day or two!

I did see the movie and that is exactly what it like except add in a full course load plus homework (summers too). I live for the few weeks we have together between semesters (every time I say 'semester' it reminds me of the lesbian from Legally blonde when she wants to change it to 'ovester'):lol:It's just like the "winter boyfriend" in Fever Pitch! Of course, if you haven't seen the movie this makes no sense whatsoever.

I changed mine because now that Katie is potty training, we give her lots of praise if she does anything on the potty. Well, she walked in with me and saw me do pee pee and said, "Mommy, you peed on the potty! That's GREAT!!!"
