Happy Monday! Woot! :party3:

Time for a new posting party thread. I kind of like having a new one for the new week, so I hope that's the consensus here. :heee:

Topic du jour: When you raid the vending machine, what do you usually buy? :pig: (kidding about the pig! )

Surrrrre you are

I'm a pretzel fiend

I couldn't think of a good smilie for the question, and I'm usually feeling piggy when I raid the machine. Hence the pig.

I usually go for something salty. Either Ruffles Sour Cream & Cheddar, or if I'm feeling like being "good" I'll get French Onion Sun Chips.

Shanna
May 1st, 2006, 04:13 PM
We dont' have a vending machine here :dunno: Thats just what I usually get  I'm gnoshing on Kashi Mighty Bites cinnamon right now  I *LOVE* it! Looks like cat food, but I think its mighty tasty :lick:

Nichole

I sit dangerously close to the vending machine here. I've been trying to get in the habit of bringing something healthy to snack on, but I forgot to today. I was good and got the Sun Chips today, at least. :heee:

I love Mighty Bites! I like the honey better than cinnamon, though. I think they look like little people.

Gosh, I can't remember the last time I got something out of a vending machine. If I had a vending machine to raid, I'd probably get m&m's. I like my snack to last as long as possible.

Karri

I tend to go for the Twizzlers. They don't make me feel quite so guilty for raiding a vending machine.

Theresa
May 1st, 2006, 04:18 PM
Either a 3 Muskateers bar or peanut M&M's! :lick:

Shanna
May 1st, 2006, 04:20 PM
If Jelly Bellys were in there, I"d get them  I just found the Mighty Bites about a week or two ago. The kids like the Autumn Harvest Organic shredded wheat better, so I leav eit at home and bring the mighty bites to work for munching  It's Mighty Bites and carrots this afternoon

Nichole
May 1st, 2006, 04:23 PM
Mmm, the Autumn Harvest is my fav! :lick:

Shanna
May 1st, 2006, 04:28 PM
It's my fav too, but hey, if my kids will eat it and its healthy, I'll leave it for them.

Karri
May 1st, 2006, 04:28 PM
Norah loves Mighty Bites! She prefers the honey to the cinnamon, as well  (Elliott is more of a Shredded Spoonful fan, while Aidan goes for the classic Cheerio or Purely O). I lOVE me some Autumn Harvest :lick: or Cinna-Raisin crunch :lick:

Shanna
May 1st, 2006, 04:30 PM
The girls eat it okay, but Jacob is like, "Um, no. " I'll have to try the honey and see if they like it better

Very very rarely do I raid a vending machine..only if I'm stuck at a hospital where there is no variety store..I digress.. I'll get a bag of chips :)

I feel so old..just went through some more stuff to donate and I just gave away all my cassettes..felt like I was going through 8 tracks

mmmmm snickers. those are my weakness but for some reason they hurt my teeth.

Usually sugar free gum. Isn't that hokey? If I'm doing it because I'm hungry, I usually try and find a Nutri Grain bar or something, or Sun Chips

Karri, what the heck do YOU have to feel guilty about for raiding the vending machine? Loopy skinny butt :screwy:

:tongue2: usually i raid a vending machine when i am not even hungry. i do it just b/c its there. not a good habit.

Nichole
May 1st, 2006, 05:30 PM
Good thing you don't have a vending machine at home, eh?

I often raid it when I hit my afternoon semi-hungry/semi-bored slump. And I usually feel worse after doing so. :dead:

Karri
May 1st, 2006, 05:44 PM
that is why i try not to buy junk. cause if its there, damn straight i will eat it. like the ice cream calling my name in the freezer (can you hear it? i can! )

I did that when we were clearing out space last year for the baby. So funny! I found cassettes from high school

Nichole ~ I've never been to Las Olas. I've always seen a crowd outside, though. Now I'm totally craving Ki's Butternut Squash Enchilada!

Nichole
May 1st, 2006, 05:49 PM
Karri! come eat me! I'm creamy and delicious! [/call of the ice cream]

That's why I don't buy junk, too. And then Brendon complains that we never have ice cream. Ok buddy, your choice: chubby thighs on your wife or no ice cream in the freezer.

Nichole
May 1st, 2006, 05:50 PM
Ooh, Pam! I haven't had those! :lick: I haven't eaten at Ki's in ages, either. We're just never over there any more. :tear:

We're trying to cut back on the crap here too, due to James' most recent cholesterol report. Not good, to say the least. Although deep down it rankles me that the rest of us have to suffer because he can't restrain himself from eating an entire pint of ice cream in one sitting or whatever. Yeah, that's fair, *I* have to go without because I can manage to eat just a cone or a few spoonfuls of the really rich stuff.

Just got back from another eye doctor follow up - thankfully I can stop the antibiotics at the end of this week, and hopefully be back to contacts in two weeks (once they make sure mine still fit properly, he said sometimes if your eye changes and you are wearing "too tight" contacts it can cause these ulcers)!

pam
May 1st, 2006, 05:51 PM
As for the vending machine, I usually go for the plain Sun Chips or a bag of cookies.

I, too, hear the call of the ice cream. I finally told my DH that he could turn off the autopilot & stop buying my favorite ice cream. It hurt me far more than him but it had to be done.

Mandi
May 1st, 2006, 06:03 PM
I almost always go for something salty from the vending machine. Sun Chips (any flavor) are a favorite of mine too.

Of course, after something salty I always want something sweet. :shuffle: We fund our office petty cash with the sale of See's candy bars... you see where this is going, right?

AmyP
May 1st, 2006, 06:17 PM
Hi all! I generally go for salty when I get to a vending machine. Depends on my mood, though.

My parents should be here in about 15-20 minutes to watch Sarah while I go to ballet. It should be nice to see them. Thankfully since they've been doing this nearly every Monday night since February, I should be able to just put our Sarah's dinner for them to feed her and move on.

Sarah's crying. Gotta go!

Bev
May 1st, 2006, 06:35 PM
Vending machine?? What's that? The only time I see a vending machine is if I'm staying at a hotel. Then Patrick usually buys himself and Mason some pop and a chocolate bar and me nothing. Niiiice. I would likely pick a chocolate bar of some sort. Those little bags of chips are usually crumbs.

I am assuming Mighty Bites is some kind of cereal?

I rarely buy junk food for myself although I have been known to do so and leave it sit there for weeks. :blush1: I go through fits and starts where I want either chocolate or chips or ice cream.

Patrick is unable to eat a small portion of junk food. He must eat the entire bag or half at least! And I bought the low-fat Oreos and before he even tasted them he said they were crappy! Mason liked them. I never tried them. Patrick sees a low-fat label and decides he doesn't like the contents before he even tries them. It pisses me off.

Oh ya, I found plenty of home mixed cassettes too  those I tossed in the trash

Nichole
May 1st, 2006, 07:24 PM
Bev yes, Mighty Bites is a cereal. It's yummy and healthy and made by Kashi.

As for the lowfat Oreos, I prefer them to the regular. They're not as greasy, IMO. Why not just take them out of the package and put them in a cookie jar? I bet Patrick would be none the wiser. :awink:

Cassettes? I just found an old box of them at my house a few months ago. For some silly reason, Brendon won't let me get rid of them. Then again, he had an 8 track collection in college (10 years ago). :screwy:

Clare

Vending machines - I don't use them. If I'm looking for a snack I go for chocolate though. We still have plenty of Easter eggs and I'm doing my fair share of work towards getting rid of them :shuffle:

I have a huge box of old cassettes that haven't been looked at or played for at least a decade (more for most of them) but I refuse to get rid of them. Too many memories :shuffle:

Alex inhales junk food  Harry and I baked blueberries muffins yesterday. The kids ate a few in the afternoon. Alex came home and gobbled the rest! Poor Sam was napping so missed out. He came out asking for "cake" just as Alex was eating the last one. Did he stop eating and leave some for his starving child? No, he finished it himself

We have the Mighty Bites too. We get cinnamon though. I'll try the honey next. I'll have to try the Autumn Harvest stuff too.

Do any of you have a favorite (healthy) granola that you buy? I love granola in my yogurt, but I recently discovered that the one I was buying had HFCS.

This thread's title makes me think of a t-shirt I saw once. It said, "What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about?" I don't know why, but I think it's funny.

 I loooooove granola in my yogurt :lick: with some banana and apple wedges :lick: Its lunch!

Anyway.....Bear Naked. I love it. They have several flavors. The 2 I buy are Apple Cinnamon (or something like that) and Fruit & Nut. Delish. They are all natural, vegetarian, HCFS free.

That you need to slam your fist down on the counter at your local grocery store and demand they carry the good stuff in the cereal aisle, Anne! :fado:

Stacey, I've seen that saying before. (I'll admit I was tempted to change the title because it feels clunky to me, but now I guess we're stuck with it. )

Clare, Brendon does the same thing with food. It drives me crazy that he can just inhale food without giving a thought to saving some for the kids. :complain:

TtownAnne

:secret: To me, the good stuff is Cocoa Puffs!

James does that too - and yet wonders why his cholesterol is berserk. I can buy a box of six cupcakes, he'll eat FIVE and then wonder why Caroline is pissy to him. Heck, at this point even SHE knows what he's doing!

I've been eating Kashi puffed 5-grain cereal. :lick: A marked improvement over my former marshmallow mateys.

Stacey - my favorite t-shirt is "Runs with Scissors".

Karri

Not a fan of Cocoa Puffs here. I like Fruity Pebbles. That is about the only "treat" cereal I like. But I haven't had any in the house since I was PG w/ the twins b/c I am afraid Aidan will ask for some

Add Chris to the list of people who cannot control his stomach. Seriously....he will not even savour a food. If something is delicious, I like to take small bites and take my time and that drives him insane. He will just shovel it in and not enjoy it.
One night recently, he ate 3/4 of a box of those Annie's BBQ Cheddar Bunnies, and then declared, "but they're healthy!" um, no. healthier than ice cream, yes. carrots are healthy. but nice try

Bridget, every time I see your profile line I sing "Soy un perdedor!" in my head.

Nichole

That was how I felt about Super Sugar Crisp (with Sugar Bear) and Sugar Smacks (with Dig 'Em), which I  in college.

My new favorite junk cereal is the chocolate Lucky Charms. So yummy!

DH is pissing me off so seriously right now. He's been beating the drum about how we have to complete our Parent Volunteer hours at school so we don't have to pay at the end of the year. Now that we've scheduled a visit to his parents, and one of the Parent Volunteer commitments interferes with when HE wants to leave, then "too bad, call and tell them you can't come."

And I even mentioned that despite all his flinging and flailing about having to complete the hours and he didn't want to have to pay, he hasn't actually DONE anything to help complete said hours. I go through cereal stages..kwim? I can eat cereal 4 times a day and am completely fascinated with it, and then I'll drop it for 3 months. Currently I like the Total cereal with yogurt on some of the flakes...whatever it's called. Kashi-the crunchy kind, is always good...Pops is bad for you, but I love it anyhow.......

I'm not a fan of sugary cereals. Actually, I don't think I've ever had any. Oh what are those honey cornflakes called, I used to like them. I stick with porridge (oatmeal) or sultana and wheat bran.

Alex would be the first one voted off Survivor b/c he'd scoff all the food! I told him last night that if there's ever a famine, I'm sure he'll outlive us all b/c there'd be no way he'd sacrafice his food for his kids

I'm enjoying my first child-free day in 3 weeks :woo: Just treated myself to a movie. Saw American Dreamz and loved it. Love me a bit of Hugh Grant :brow: particularly when he's playing the bad guy. I nearly peed my pants laughing at one scene which was a bit embarassing seeming as I was by myself   And I got to grocery shop alone :woo: I never realised something like that could make me so happy

I like with Frosted Flakes or Banana Nut Crunch.

DH read the cereal labels the other day and found out that the sugar cereals have all the same vitamins (underneath the sugar and processing) so now he's planning to eat Coco Pops every day.

Was yesterday poop issue day, or what? Even Caroline, who has been trained for nearly two years now, pooped TWICE! The first time was at a scrapbook store because "I didn't think they had a potty in here." WELL ASK ME!

Man, I stocked up at BJ's this morning. Drinks, juice, pasta, cereal (sugary! ) a HUGE container of blueberries, green beans. I think my car was tipping backwards from the weight of everything in the trunk.

Maggie had her poop issue on Saturday. Big ole accident in costco, and they don't sell kids underwear, either. So she went commando to the mall where we secretly picked up a new pair and put them on in the dressing room. Mmmm... Cinnamon Life is good!

I'm really late here, but to answer the original question: I always go for something sweet from the vending machine. Usually M&M's or Twix. If I am in the mood for chips, then it's Doritos. That makes me sound like a junk food junkie. I don't raid the vending machine very often.

Jacob's poop issues are getting worse :mope: At least it isn't a regression, though

Gotta backtrack from all the stuff last night.

 at Jacob! Today is a wipe day! :woo:

Yuck, major poop issues abound everywhere. :dead: I'm scared to hear that kids who've been trained a while are still pulling that crap. (pun intended :lol2: )

Yeah. Heh. . . lucky for me!! :lol2: We have a soccer game tonight (barring another rainout), so hopefully he'll wipe before that :lol2:

I feel better knowing that regressions happen, though. At least my kid isn't the only one doing it :blush1:

Liam went through a phase a couple months back where he pooped in his undies everyday for almost a week. Then he stopped. Hopefully it's the same for your kiddoes.

You know your yard looks like a craphole when the guy coming to put new gutters up asks if you just moved in. :blush1:

I got up this morning to discover my husband got up at about 12:30 and stayed awake until 4:30 tidying up the main part of the house which if I do say so, was a royal freaking mess. We were so busy this weekend we just let it go. HE CLEANED UP THE WHOLE THING!!!!

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 12:02 PM
Wow! Nice job, Kai!

(in our defense, our yard is a mess because we've got about 10 projects going at once. But still... :blush1: )

Bev
May 2nd, 2006, 01:59 PM
Can Kai come over here?

I don't have too many sugary cereals here. Just Froot Loops which Mason hardly ever eats and usually with no milk. We did have Cap'n Crunch recently though.

Thankfully we haven't had any poop issues here!

Yesterday at bedtime Mason was wiggling his toes and said, "Look Mommy! My toes are dancing!" :love3:

I had Lucky Charms for breakfast.

I love Mini Wheats too. There are so many flavours to choose from now, original, brown sugar, maple and vanilla. :lick:

Nadine - I hope the job and depression issues improve.

It's Password. It's Super Password.

TtownAnne

Ooooh, I love Mini Wheats too! :dude: The strawberry delight ones are awesome. Mini Wheats were my saving grace during morning sickness - enough bulk to settle your stomach, but just enough sugar to keep your mouth entertained.

Ah, listen to the silence. Caroline is down for a nap after wearing herself out at the park where we had a picnic with our friends. I need to go organize my scrap stuff, the dining room looks like a scrapbook store threw up in there...

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 02:16 PM
I like shredded wheat and miniwheats are ok, but the Autumn Harvest are better. I think the maple miniwheats are grody, but I'm not a big fan of maple flavor.

So, does pinkeye start with a pink eye or do crusties come first? :scan: :errr:

Chicken? Egg? :dunno:

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 02:20 PM
Jackson's got green ooze and Gav woke up with a crusty eye. I'm thinking a call to the ped is in order. I know that pinkeye was making the rounds at DC a couple of weeks ago. :dead:

Stacy

Yuck!

Bridget
May 2nd, 2006, 02:39 PM
Nichole I think the crusties come first.

We're not huge cereal eaters at our house. I keep Cheerios, Kashi puffs, and Kai likes Corn Pops, which he eats about once every two months. Marshmallow Mateys may still be in the house, but I don't think so since I tried to stop buying them earlier this year.

Bev
May 2nd, 2006, 02:43 PM
Lots of manky crust to pick, eh Nichole? Seriously I'm sorry the kids have pinkeye. :(

I just got a free Swiffer Carpet Flick in the mail. Of course I was  because the guy rings the doorbell and then bangs on the door before the last chime faded from sound and Graham is sleeping so....

Anyway I belong to a Home Made Simple website and they sent it too me for Mother's Day. I'd better get something nicer from Patrick!

I wonder how it works on cat hair. And if it would work on my kitchen floor even though it's not carpet.

:aok: for free stuff!

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 02:48 PM
Yes Bev, but I'm skeeved by the fact that it's greenish. :errr:

Thanks, Bridget. I was afraid of that. :dead:

Cool on the free swiffer! :aok:

Jackson had green goop coming out of his eyes a couple weeks ago. It wasn't pink eye, it was a secondary infection from his pneumonia/ear infection/sinus infection...it was like green nose boogers coming out of his eyes. Nasty shit! Anyway, he was already on antibiotics so they didn't do anything about it, and it cleared up a couple days later. His eye never got red or anything....

I am so craving sugar cereal at the moment! I think once he wakes up from his nap we may go to the grocery store...I have a couple other things I could get as well. Hmmmmm....

Bridget
May 2nd, 2006, 03:50 PM
All this talk of sweets brings me back to the vending machine question which I never answered. I don't do vending machines very often because when I do the things I want to eat rhyme with:

Ho Ho's of horror
Twinkies of torment
Dunkin Stix of death

Yummy but you shave a year off your life with every bite.

Nichole, I hope it's not pink eye. My kids have had that with sinus infections several times.

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 03:50 PM
Interesting, Michele. Now I'm wondering if Jackson's is something like that, because he's had a cold and is still really stuffy and snotty. I just called the ped's office, and he's off on Tuesdays so I went ahead and made an appointment for both of them for tomorrow morning. I'd rather have it checked and get the antibiotics going as soon as possible so they don't have to stay home from daycare on Friday. (I'm assuming they don't let kids with pinkeye come in. :dunno: )

sheila
May 2nd, 2006, 03:55 PM
Yikes, Nichole. Sorry the boys might have the eye. And daycares usually frown on that being brought into their places.

Maggie has been singing "There's a song in my tummy and it wants to come out" for about 30 minutes. Nonstop. Not the whole song, just that single effen line. :errr:

oh, sidenote: I found Effen Black Cherry Vodka at my liquor store.

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 04:00 PM
Yeah, I wouldn't want some other kid bringing PE to daycare for my kids to catch (even though it appears they did :\), so I can understand that I wouldn't be able to bring mine in. I'm just hoping we can get them some drops and get clearance for them to go in by Friday. Thankfully, they go to my mom's tomorrow.

Mmm, effen black cherry sounds good. And it sounds like you're going to need it after listening to Maggie's effen serenade.

:wavey: Hi everyone. I haven't even left for overseas yet and I am already missing my OUAL time. I am so flippin busy getting all my business stuff organised for while I am gone that I haven't been able to log on here. :blue: I was up till after midnight last night wrapping a gazillion scales and I still have another gazillion to go  OY my back!

And this morning I am off to the hospital to get the surgeons to look at Jacobs toe.. hopefully when I get back I will be able to stick around and do a proper visit.

How the hell am I going to handle 5 weeks away from this place :mope:

Sorry about the PE Nichole, that just sucks. My kids have gotten it from daycare before as well, makes me so angry when parents don't keep there kids home when they are sick!

Deb :hug99: Don't you have a birthday party this weekend too? Talk about busy!

Well the banana shortage is certainly kicking in (most of our banana crops were wiped out in a recent cyclone). Guess how much I paid for 5 bananas yesterday? $10.87! :faint: I'm going to savour every bite of those bastards!!

Nichole
May 2nd, 2006, 07:58 PM

Why do scary movie ads have to be so scary? :errr:

Michele
May 2nd, 2006, 09:07 PM
That is crazy about the bananas! We'd go broke if they got to be that much here, Jackson eats 5 bananas in 2 days or so....

I know what you mean Bridget about the scary movie commercials. There is a really scary one on a lot lately (I can't remember the name of the movie) but I get so creeped out when I see it. It was especially scary this weekend when I was home alone!

Betcha we're talking about the same one! Caleb was in the room and I almost flipped out trying to grab for the remote before he saw it. Bad mommy. Bad, bad, bad.

Caleb is now insistent on trying to "open" his own bananas thanks to my FIL showing him that this weekend. I peeled his banana and handed it to him in the car on the way home and he got so mad he flung it across the car. Don't I do a great job with my kids! :woo: Go me!

Bev
May 3rd, 2006, 08:20 AM
Yikes Clare! I bet I could buy a bunch of green ones (49 cents/pound) and Fed ex them overnight for cheaper than that!!!

Bridget, it's totally a phase. They want the peel all off one day and the next (without telling you, of course) they want the peel on so they can peel it themselves. Hand them a naked banana and watch the fireworks! Then it switches back and you give them the banana to peel and the waterworks start because they want a naked banana!

SO! Patrick left this morning about an hour ago to go to Phoneix for his big golf trip. He is afraid of airplanes. First thing he tells me when I wake up: There was a big plane crash in Armenia and everyone is dead. He is freaking out! I guess that's not funny but... I tried to tell him that if there was already a crash it's unlikely his plane will crash but that didn't help.

I am only selling half my normal quantity while I am gone .. THANKFULLY or else I would be wrapping for the next century.

Yes Clare I have Aiden's 4th birthday party this Sunday... but being it's at the Wiggly Play Centre I don't have to do anything but turn up! :ura1: best money I have ever spent

I also have to go into work tomorrow (my fathers business) and do the payroll and get the accounts sorted and impliment the procedures I am going to do while I am away.. BOY am I going to earn this holiday!!

I feel so out of the loop  I haven't see any other threads.. i am going crazy!.. hopefully tomorrow night I will have some time to have a browse around

Karri

We won a portrait package at this local studio when we were at a charity ball, so today, I am taking Aid to get his 4 year photo done. I am a tad nervous, because he's been doing this cheesy smile when I ask him to smile for the camera. But whatevah. And I am sure they are going to be irked with me when they find out I am only using my $155 credit, which will only cover the sitting fee and 1 8x10 photo.

Good luck w/the pics Karri. So what if they are pissed - it's your free gift to use as you chose

Dang, that is pricey for bananas! :woa: we'd be in trouble, too.

Mandy - I vote for going out w/his girlfriend  I'm not a fan of strippers, but :lick: Mexican!

My kids (well, the twins at least) just gnaw through the banana peel if they can't get it open :blush1: I can't tell you how many times I've gotten to daycare and they've handed me 1/2 of a banana. And thats including peel :dead:

Nichole
May 3rd, 2006, 11:56 AM
Gavin tries to eat through the peel sometimes, too. Gross. :dead: Those things are bitter; you'd think it would deter them!

I'm just biding my time here until I have to go pick up the boys to see the ped. Their eyes are less crusty this morning, but I'm taking them in anyway. Better safe than sorry and all that jazz.

Yeah, I called the pedi last week when it started and she saw us that day. There was just so much blood in his ear, she couldn't tell what was going on, so she set us up with ENT. SHe doesn't think its his brain leaking out of his ear or anything, though  I'm just concerned for his hearing, y'know? I'd hate for him to go deaf or something (not just the "selective hearing" type of deaf  )

It's been gardening city here today; I just want to get it finished! Anyone have any suggestions of something colorful but hearty that I wouldn't have to fool with too much?

Nichole
May 3rd, 2006, 03:49 PM
Marigolds? Are they hardy? :dunno: I only know what grows out here, and just barely, so I'm no help. Sorry! Ask Sandy, she's the gardening goddess.

Thanks for the well wishes! Thankfully, it doesn't seem to be bothering them, so that's good. I do have the itch to go home and disinfect every surface, though. I'll haul out the big vat of Purell, too. :errr:

Perennials. I don't want to have to do loads of replanting every year! Preferably full sun or part sun.

Karri
May 3rd, 2006, 04:34 PM
In the past, I've found the following to be very hearty and low maintainance and good in full sun (which is all we freakin' have!)
shasta daisy
balloon flower
purple coneflower
black eyed-susan
russian sage
sedum (pretty in fall, but a bitch b/c the honey bees love it)
coreopsis

TtownAnne
May 3rd, 2006, 05:55 PM
 Well, they certainly are lower maintenance! :) I guess it's too much to ask to have nice looking gardens without killing myself over it. I had a bunch of azaleas on the side of the house, but two died, so I have to pull those out. I have a bunch of hostas going gangbusters, but well, those are boring and uncolorful. :scan: Black eyed susans are a good idea; I will have to investigate the others when I manage to finish weeding and make it to Home Depot or someplace!

We were going to go for a bike ride, but Caroline cut up the back of her ankle when the gate slammed into her, so she's busy limping around like Camille and making demands. "Juice, Mommy!" Uh, no way, chicquita.

sheila
May 3rd, 2006, 08:46 PM
Lavender is perennial. I have it, and I kill just about everything and my lavender survived. It can be fussy about the soil, though. But I think I just stuck it in the ground, and if it grows in GA clay, it should grow anywhere.

darn, that reminds me-- I think I was supposed to do something to it last fall or recently, but I can't remember what that was.

We're on two prescription ear drops, alternating one in the morning, one at night. Just wanted to mention that I picked up some Mighty Bites at the store the other night because of this thread. Both the cashier and the woman behind me were eyeing the box and then asked if it was new, because they love Kashi and hadn't seen it before. Then we had a whole conversation about the cereal, its sugar content and Kashi love in general.

We've had the box in the house for just over a day and it is more than half gone already. Is there crack in there? My kids can't get enough!

TtownAnne

Mmmm, I just had the most delicious grilled veggie and black bean burrito (from Trader Joe's) for lunch! :lick: I think it is the best part of my day so far!

I'm trying not to analyze that fact too much right now, because I'm not sure I want to know what it says about me.

Great job Nichole! You killed the thread, you killed the thread! Wait.. you... didn't... kill it... after all... did you???? I'll throw you some flowers anyway, though.

My house smells like poop. I hate diapers. Plus, I'm going to be up half the night getting ready for the cleaning lady tomorrow. She's doing the "deep clean" and unless I move crap around the dead ladybugs hiding in the corners will STILL be there when I get home! Grr.

Nichole
May 4th, 2006, 10:59 PM
Thanks for the flowers, Bridget. http://yelims3.free.fr/Inclassables/Inclassable38.gif

You haven't had a poop-smelling house until one of your kids craps in their underwear. I guess diapers mask a lot more smell than I realized. :dead:

Mmmm your burrito sounds yummy! I read that post and decided I was going to Trader Joes tomorrow....what does that say about me?

Sam's room smells really poopy at the moment :dead:

Why is it that no matter how diligently I check pockets, a tissue still makes it into the wash half the time?

I'm such a sap. Love Actually is on tv on Mothers Day and every time an ad comes on for it I stop everything and watch it. How many times have I seen that movie? Enough to not have to watch little snippets ten times a day  I even got teary before when they showed Emma Thompson crying in her room after she opened the Joni Mitchell CD. Love that scene :blue:

Just wanted to mention that I picked up some Mighty Bites at the store the other night because of this thread. Both the cashier and the woman behind me were eyeing the box and then asked if it was new, because they love Kashi and hadn't seen it before. Then we had a whole conversation about the cereal, its sugar content and Kashi love in general.

We've had the box in the house for just over a day and it is more than half gone already. Is there crack in there? My kids can't get enough!

Kashi has a new Heart to Heart Cereal now... it's the blueberry crunch one. If you do their survey on the website - you get a coupon for a free box of cereal.

I love Kashi. I don't think I've seen Mighty Bites here though. :(

I really need to see that movie. I'll have to plan for Netflix to send it for a weekend when Brendon's gone though, because I'm sure he won't want to watch.

For what it's worth, Greg really liked it. It's not that girly. (I've seen it a bazillion times, too. I love it!)

They don't have the MIghty Bites here, I checked today. I also checked the website but couldn't find the survey and noticed that the one coupon available is only for the US.

I did find some shelled edamame today so I bought some. Now I need to figure out how to cook/eat it. :)

We got quite a few looks at the grocery store today because Mason was wearing his Superman pyjamas with cape and Graham was wearing a short outfit with dinosaur spikes on his hood and down his back. Mason was Superman and Graham was Dinosaur Man, hence the hood being on.

OK, never heard of Mighty Bites, but y'all have piqued my curiosity, so the next time I go shopping I'm on the hunt for them

After seeing that picture we DEFINITELY don't have Mighty Bites around here. Oh well, back to Cocoa Puffs for me! :lick:

Love Actually - even James likes it. And knowing his taste in movies (Saw, Hostel, gangsters/mobsters/corrupt cops), that is REALLY saying something.

I'm surviving at the ILs. FIL drives me crazy, so it's a good thing he's out playing golf or I'd have to put my head in the oven. Tonight we're going to have chinese food with James' brother and his wife, then we're going home tomorrow. I cannot WAIT to get back to my own bed - this stupid futon is about as comfortable as a bag of dirt, and with less give.

I contaminated the board. That sucks Pam, I'm sorry to hear it. (I've snuck a couple of the boys' antibiotic drops for myself so I don't get it. :shuffle: )

It seems like it's really making the rounds here for some reason. There were signs at both our daycare and the Y child care. My theory is that boys got it at the mall play area last Friday. They were there with Brendon, and I can just about guarantee that he didn't clean their hands after they played there. Stuff like that just doesn't occur to him.

Bev
May 5th, 2006, 04:33 PM
Patrick's cousin currently has pinkeye and she is developmentally delayed and she won't let her worker give her the drops so her Mom, Dot, 78 or so, has to go over 4 times a day to give her the drops. Dot has already had a really bad case, and so have Mason's 3 cousins. Thank goodness he hasn't had it!!

I think it goes in cycles where it is everywhere for a long time and then it sort of drops out of existence.

When Maggie had it, my doc told me to do the drops with her eyes closed and then let her open them while she was still laying down and it was the same thing as getting them in the open eye.

We just got a sitter for tonight!! :woo: I can taste the margarita already. Perhaps I should start celebrating now with some Corona...

Thank goodness Patrick is in Phoenix! A cop he works with was been shot and killed today. :blue: I don't know if it was while he was working or what. They have 2 people in custody and there is currently a stand-off with a suspected third person. The press conference is in 2 hours.

On a better note: Graham keeps climbing on the coffee table and getting stuck!

Bev, that is awful news. I'm sorry Patrick will have to come home to that. :(

Pam, I hope you can keep from spreading it to Amelia. :errr: I've been washing my hands like some kind of OCD freak since the boys were diagnosed. I don't wear contacts, but I'd cry if I had to go to work with no eye makeup on.

Nichole ~ I'm usually OCD when it comes to washing my hands but now I'm taking it to a new level. I had PE back in December & A didn't get it then. I'm not too worried. I really don't like going without mascara & concealer those are my bare minimum.

I just came to share my excitement! My Shark cordless/rechargeable sweeper broke a few months ago (the handle broke off from the sweeper) and I had pretty much given up on ever using again, which made me really sad because I loved it so. I decided to contact Shark for the heck of it to see if I could get a part to fix it and they told me to send it to them and they'd either fix or replace it at no charge. The Fedex guy came yesterday and delivered a new sweeper! :woo: I'm sure it's just a refurbished one, but it's new to me and it works! Plus, it's a newer model than mine was. :aok:

I can sweep under the table with ease again! No more dustpan! :woo:
