I know some of you bought bikes. What size fits them at this age? Saxon is 43 3/4 inches tall. I wouldn't mind photos if you got 'em. :)
Thanks in advance.

Because according to all the specifications, Aidan was tall enough last year (age 3) for us to buy him a 16" bike. So we did. And his feet didn't hit the pedals. He was too tall for a 12", though...his knees were almost hitting the handlebars. So we scoured the stores for a 14" and found 1 and got it. Not much of a selection in that. I am guessing Saxon would be tall enough for a 16" at this age, though. Hmn... Karri April 29th, 2006, 04:09 PM Here is Aidan this past November. At his 4 yr appt in March, he was 41". So he's shorter than Saxon. Plus he's all torso, and he's got shorter legs. http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5cf28b3127cce950ca3a737f000000016109AauXLNw5aO stass April 29th, 2006, 04:10 PM I guess you are right. I was trying to avoid that and just get one. I bet 16 would work though. hmmmm Thanks  Bev April 29th, 2006, 04:11 PM We just bought Mason another bike today. It is 16" and has room for the seat/handlebars to go higher. He is 42½" tall. stass April 29th, 2006, 04:13 PM We posted at the same time. Can he still fit that bike now? I am probably going to go with a 16 but will take him along to try some out. Thanks again as I didin't really know what sizes they even came in. stass April 29th, 2006, 04:14 PM Thanks Bev. Where did you get it? Canadian Tire? How much? TtownAnne April 29th, 2006, 04:57 PM We got Caroline a 16-inch bike last Easter, and she could just BARELY reach to get off the bike without falling over. She was about 40 inches tall then, with pretty long legs. But now that she's grown more than two inches it fits perfectly. So I think a 16 inch would work for you too. Mandi April 29th, 2006, 05:12 PM We just got Micayla a 12" for her birthday. It fits her fine, but I doubt it'll last her long. I figure that she'll need a 16" by the fall. I just plan on letting Peanie have Cayla's old bike then. Oh and Micayla is about 3" shorter than Saxon. So I'd think he'd be best in a 14" or 16" bike. stass April 29th, 2006, 05:31 PM Thanks ladies! I knew you peeps wouldn't let me down. Bev April 29th, 2006, 06:45 PM Thanks Bev. Where did you get it? Canadian Tire? How much? We got it at Sport Chek at the Devonshire Mall, $80. They are having a big sale now 20-40% off everything. It is grey with red/black trim and says Free Zone or something on it. There are two left now. He rode it in the store and it is great with room to grow as the seat can move up. |
