I'm not sure why we can't just continue with the party that's already started, but we just can't.

It's Monday! Come bitch about it.

You really don't want me to start bitching about my day already! Suffice it to say that it is 11:04 am and I am ready for a big ol glass of the yellowtail sitting in my kitchen? Is drinking at 11am, when there are no other adults in your house considered a problem??? Hmm??

Nichole
April 24th, 2006, 12:10 PM
You don't have to bitch to join in. I'm just too tired to come up with a topic for discussion.

Feel free to toss one into the ring if you've got one. ;)

Melba toast....is it a cracker or cardboard? Discuss amongst yourselves...the choice is up to you!

JustJen

 uhoh, we made Nichole second guess saying we should come here and bitch Brandi.

Sorry, I'm just still royally pissed off :angry2: and it's carrying over into whatever I do.

JustJen

Is it corrugated cardboard? I don't do melba toast. What kind of crackers ya got?

Nichole
April 24th, 2006, 12:16 PM
Oh no, anyone is free to bitch if they need to. It's just not a prerequisite to join in.

Brandi, I hate those days. It's why I'm glad to be at work today. I'd be having the day you're having if I were at home. :dead:

I'm here. Shouldn't be. Mucho work. But I'm also so caught up in my "to sell or wait" house decision.

We went to a bunch of open houses yesterday. Here is the one on the top of our list. It's well within our price range too, so I would feel okay pulling the trigger sooner than later even with the job situation.

Let's see...I had to proctor the achievement tests all morning (the only time I don't have classes...my plan time!) About 10 minutes into lunch, some kid pulled the fire alarm causing major problems as it happened during lunch!

Let's see what can happen during the last part of the day...

That house is nice, Alyssa! :aok: I love the houses out there. I'm so over stucco.

Yuck, Kristen! It sucks when you don't get a break or time to plan. That's part of the reason I went back to my desk job. I like only having to worry about myself.

This morning my daughter decided to sleep in and since she has been a bug lately I went and got the little boy (I am a nanny) I baby-sit and brought him to my house (DH was still here at that point). I get settled in, Alyssa wakes and the phone rings. First it is my friend asking if she can bring her daughter over for the afternoon because of her other Daughters Dr's appointment and her other baby-sitter's daughter has the flu. Then the phone rings and it is another preschool mom asking if I can pick up and drop off her son on Tuesday and thursday because she is having surgery. I have Timmy today, Tomorrow and Friday, Sydney tomorrow, Will and Jack on Wednesday and now the added pick up on Thursday. :tearhair:

Is it the weekend yet

Alysia
April 24th, 2006, 12:36 PM
GRR! just lost my post!

I will try again...

Jayne~ Sounds like you have a very busy week ahead of you!

Alyssa~ The house is beautiful! Any inside piccies?

Kristen~ I hope your day improves.

I decided to take a mental health day and spend some time with my munchkin. Have to take advantage of this sunny weather while it lasts. I'm sure it will be gone by tomorrow. More than 3 sunny days in a row is alot to ask around here!

I don't have nothing to bitch about yet. Just yesterday...the chinese delivery guy dude. I still need to write bout it, as some pple had asked about it.

Our fax machine isn't working :wtf: so I had to treck the girls to Staples in the rain. Wait, I guess that is something to bitch about, eh?

Oh, and please wish us luck! We're putting in an offer today on an investment property! :crossfing: Well, actually James is. He got rained out so he's there now at the realtor's doing the offer up.

Alyssa - Nice house! :aok:

Jen - This is for Jim :colfish: and :fryingpan: I still need to write ya back.....

Alyssa nice house! :aok:

I have no chocolate. :( Oh wait! Mason still has part of a bunny left!

I'm having a pretty good day so far (if entirely unproductive!) despite the phone solicitor calling and waking up Graham. Now we are going for a walk and Mason will ride his bike, to the mailbox. He's  now because I told him we're going and he wants to play a video game. We're having a staring contest. OH! I won!

Well, I have put in some laundry and did take some stuff to the recycle bin in the garage, and did put Brandi's stuff in a box. :) I'm doing well! :)

Cute house, Alyssa. And with the way prices have been around there, to find something in your price range is awesome!

I just had some seriously delish pierogies for lunch, so I'm stuffed to the gills. Caroline is watching Strawberry Shortcake and then we're going outside to draw with chalk. :ura1: Made deviled eggs last night to use up the Easter eggs, turned out mighty good. It's been Carb City around here lately, though, so I'm going to have to put the smack down on myself before I weigh 472 pounds.

Man Sheila, that does suck! I never had to cancel a CC for someone else, but my guess is that you won't be able to since your not on the card. I know they are very cautious about doing things when the person on the other end of the phone is not named on the account, ya know? I would think that they at least need to first speak to the person named on the account for them to verify things and to "okay" the conversation between you and them. Good luck though....

It sounds like it may have been an inside job, since they broke into his hotel room, no? What a shame! :blue:

:yippee: Well, the offer is submitted. Just waiting....... the waiting part sucks! :crossfing:

Pretty house Alyssa!

I'm grumpy today. I was just thinking that we didn't have any chocolate in our house but upon opening one of our cabinets I found a chocolate bunny
But then I realized it was cheap chocolate and I threw it away.

I'm back to being grumpy again :heee:

That really sucks Sheila! I'm guessing the same as Dawn, unless you are on your bros accts. You or your brother can contact the US Embassy in Costa Rica for help with matters like this http://usembassy.or.cr/conseng.html I dealt with them a few years back & found the person both helpful & polite.

Dawn - what kind of investment property are you buying?
We've been looking at houses that need some work (we stay away from the ones needing MAJOR work...well, for now anyway ;) ). Since James is handy we figured why not try this out, and try and make some money? We put an offer in on one house, but they wouldn't budge. We wouldn't budge either. They wanted $20,000 more and that was that. Oh well.

This one here is actually a condo w/ a 2 car garage. It's up in North Jersey. Out of all the homes we looked at this needs the least work. For the price we can get it at and the price we can resell it for....even after figuring out the downpay all the other costs, we'll make out for sure. A nice and quick flip. A condo 2 units down just sold for a nice price. :)

We did this a few years back as well.....when we bought a townhome for investment purposes too. Only difference was we stood there for only 2 yrs. (we needed a place to stay...I was preggo w/ Alexia). But we freshened it up...did some nice cheap things to it and it sold in 2 wks. We got a nice profit from that. Also, I think watching Flip this House on HGTV has motivated us to try this again. Seeing how we got approved for an investment mortgage was a nice plus for us as well.

Gosh, I hope this comes through! :crossfing:

Alyssa - LOVE the pics of the inside! WOW! Will you be putting an offer in?

And cheap ice cream too!

So... I have a secret. My husband told me that he didn't want me to get landscapers if they were going to charge $400.
So, I didn't. These are going to charge roughly $500.

Do you ever work around your house and although you're getting lots done the more you do the worse your house seems to look? This is me. I've gone from neglected shithole to newly painted and big piles o' crap shithole.

 Bridget, this sounds like my mom.

That only happens to me when I'm uber re-organizing and getting to the knitty gritty of things and sorting things out, etc.

We're having a yard sale May 13th (and most likely the 14th too) and boy is my LR getting packed with stuff! Thank goodness it's empty and not being used! Or else I have no clue where we would put all this crap that I wanna sell.

Nichole
April 24th, 2006, 04:09 PM
I know what you mean, Bridget. It's always messier when you're making the piles. But once those piles are all sorted, it's quick work to clean up and see the progress. You're almost there! :rahrah:

I'm going to go kamikaze on the next person that props the outside door open to go out and have a cig right outside the door (which results in the wind blowing the smoke down the hallway to us :dead: ). :angry2: Go kill your lungs somewhere else, a-hole!

Yeah, but I can't hide the bill - DH is going to pay it sooner or later. I am afraid what it's going to cost me - but I'm going to turn it around and say, "You know, hon, I just thought it would be nice for you to not have to worry about having to listen to me bitch one more time about the leaves..."

Man!!...Any other ideas on how to get what is most likely a permanent marker, off of a shirt? I washed it and used Zout, didn't come out. I then do research on the internet and I read things about how hairspray, rubbing alcohol or peroxide will take marker stains out. But it didn't. :blue: I tried all that stuff, rubbed it in with a toothbrush and then even sprayed some carpet cleaner on it (hey, it worked when I had a stain on a pair of jeans  ). I refuse to dry the shirt in the dryer cuz that'll just make the stain set in. I'm still willing to try anything...although I'm thinking it's a loss cause.

I wouldn't be worrying so much, if it wasn't a Gymboree shirt :shuffle:

She got another marker stain on another one of her Gymbo shirts too....she's lucky I'm able to use a bleach pen on that one. Needless to say I threw all her markers out of her desk into the garbage!

Nichole

Sorry Dawn, can't help with the stain question. My kids have lots of marker stains on their clothes. We just live with them

It's 5am and I'm going to head back to bed. Alex was great with the kids yesterday, he came home from work early so I didn't have to take them all to the dr's with me and fed (fast food  ) and cared for them while I went to bed early. I'm sure he'll do the same today (I hope).

Sorry Dawn, can't help with the stain question. My kids have lots of marker stains on their clothes. We just live with them

I think I'll try another round of whatever one more time. THen I have 2 options after that: toss it or try a bleach pen on it and that area would be white :dunno: I'll probably try the bleach pen as a last resort instead of throwing it away. The marker color is very dark and soooo obvious. There's no way she can wear it like that. So if it fails again (which I think it will), let's hope the bleach pen will get it out....thus resulting in a white area on a coral color shirt. I rather have the white area then big black stained areas

Nichole - I don't have Spot Shot...but I did try spraying some Woolite Carpet foaming cleaner on it w/ no such luck.

It's pouring rain here today. Alex is pissed b/c he showed me pics of 3 cars that's he chosen and told me to pick which one. I said I didn't like any of them so he's pissed off  The thing is we've been talking about a 7 seater so I have a van or SUV in mind. But he's just looking at a normal station wagon with two extra seats in the back. I don't think I like that idea but I'd really have to see the car in person before deciding. I can't tell if I like it by a picture on the net. His idea of my input is me deciding which colour I want

That's my understanding, that the seats face backwards, but I've just asked him and he says they face forwards:dunno: I can't really imagine it. Now he wants me to go to the auto show to see them. Yeah, I'm supposed to be in bed waiting to see if I need to go to hospital, fighting the crowds at the auto show sounds like a good idea

This is one of the cars he's looking at

http://www.pickles.com.au/servlet/Auction/Item.jpg?id=852025545

My other choices are red or white. I like this colour best but still confused about the extra seats.

ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Today is our War Remembrance Day. April 15, 1915 was the day of a fierce battle between Australian and NZ troops against the Turkish at Gallipoli.

MrsPeacefrog
April 25th, 2006, 06:03 AM
Alyssa: Clare meant to type April 25th 1915. (little typo) We have parades in the streets with old war veterens and you will find all the old guys at pubs all over town playing Two Up!

Clare: What kind of car is that? it looks similar to mine, but not exactly.. I have a Commodore Acclaim. It did have the option to have extra seats that clip in the back but they were backward facing and I didn't like how little they were, it would only suit a small child. We decided to go with the Acclaim and get the cage dividing instead of the seats. We thought if we wanted to upgrade to a 7/8 seater we will go to a van then. We did look at the Tarago and the Chrysler Voyager and liked them both, but didn't see the need for a 7/8 seater at the time (I was pregnant with Riley and didn't know what we had installed for us)

Good luck with it!

Clare
April 25th, 2006, 06:16 AM
Oh yeah, April 25

Deb, it's a Commodore but I don't know what sort. I just can't see how it has forward facing backseats :dunno: I'll have to see it in person before I decide anything.

I watch Garden State today on the advice of several of you :) It wasn't released here so I had to get Alex to download it. Good movie, thanks for the recommendation :aok: (Bridget, Nichole, Sheila et al :) )

People are complaining here because the weather is so winter-like... on the cool side with rain here and there. (OK... more than that... a town was flodded.) We usually have no rain from April - October.
Other than the flood - I am all for it! I really don't want the heat of the late spring/summer to arrive already. IMO- the later the better...

MrsPeacefrog
April 25th, 2006, 07:05 AM
hmmmm... it looks similar to mine but a different year model. I am starting to wonder if I am wrong about the seats. Maybe they did face forward? I will have to ask Tony if he remembers when we bought the car what the guy said about the seats. My car does have the tracks to fit in seats but they are covered with carpet now. If you want the 7 seats then I say go a van

But I do love my commodore it has been good to me! And its wide enough to fit the 3 carseats in it!

I am going to have to get Tony to download Garden State for me too.

Cami

Could the seats be sideways? Like they face in?

I'd go for a van too.

"The pot of poo at the end of the rainbow"?

Caroline's ballet recital is tonight, and naturally she hasn't taken a nap so is whiny and floppy and such. This does not bode well, so please keep all fingers crossed for us!

That was pretty much what I was thinking, too. Or:

"There's a pot of something at the end of the rainbow, but I'm pretty sure it's not gold."

Good luck with the recital tonight, Anne! :crossfing for the whinies to go away.

Further to Dawn's request for advice on getting marker out of a gymbo top, any ideas on how to get it off a penis? Sam's been having fun with a green marker and we now have a green penis  How on earth am I supposed to scrub to get that out?

Veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery carefully! :lol2:

I'm pleased to report that the ballet recital tonight was a success! We were so proud we wanted to cry. Caroline was so worried about what to do if she forgot a step (we told her to look at the person in front of her and see what they were doing), but she did so well other kids were looking at her to remember what they should be doing!

:locolaugh

from about.com

Kids love markers, but moms don't always enjoy spending all that time at the sink trying to get colored faces and hands clean.

Here are several ways you can safely (and quickly) remove these marks from skin:

Soak a cotton ball in baby oil or baby lotion and rub until marker is gone. Use a q-tip or old toothbrush to get underneath fingernails. Rub a small amount of vaseline on marks, then wash the area with warm soap and water.
Spread some shaving cream on a table, tray or high chair and let your child play with the shaving cream until the marks are gone.
Spray some hairspray into your hands and rub gently over markered areas, carefully avoiding eyes.

I wouldn't suggest the toothbrush though.

Nothing :(
Chris left norah unsupervised with them several months ago and I had a shirt (also gymboree) runied, as well. Its now a playshirt.

Thanks, everyone. We're pretty pleased it proceeded without a meltdown because she had gone without a nap! But it was so exciting to watch her be as poised and elegant as a 4-year old can be.

I think I might have a scratched cornea (thanks for the info, Sheila! :bighug: It's not tearing as much as it was, but still really stings and sunshine hurts! ) so have spent since last night with my right eye just tearing constantly and running down my face. I have an eye doctor appointment at 1:30, though, so hopefully I'll get some info about what to do.

I don't know what happened, honestly, Nichole. I noticed last night that it felt like I had an eyelash behind my contact (stinging, etc) So I took my contacts out and it REEEEEEEEEEEALY hurt. Stinging, watering, etc. I can't see anything actually IN my eye, so I asked Sheila about a scratched cornea, and that does sound like what I have.

TtownAnne

Nope, I have daily contacts (throw away each night), so no solution involved, but that was the first thing he asked about. He said that I probably had a minor scratch on my cornea that wouldn't have affected me normally, but that some germ got in (normal germs we all have on our skin) and then I sealed it into the nice wet warm environment with a contact and away it went to infection.

Scott is one of those people! He got conjunctivitis right before we went on our first vacation together, and had to wear these ugly old-school glasses the whole time. He looks like such a dork in all of the pictures! Ever since then I have been better at keeping my glasses up to date.

I hope your eye feels better Anne...I had a similar thing happen a couple years ago and it was not fun!

I'm in a pissy mood today...Scott and I were supposed to go on a date tonight, but instead he's working until 10:00 and I am stuck home with a cranky ass kid. I think I'm ordering Chinese for dinner, b/c I can't bring myself to cook anything at the moment...

Alyssa, I did hear about that, but I have daily disposable contacts and I don't use contact solution at all, so the infection can't be from that. James actually had some that he had been planning to use, but threw it out.

Believe it or not, it does. It is my favorite type of beer. Wachusett makes it, as does a local brew pub. At the brew pub they put blueberries in the glass too, and they float up and down on the bubbles from the beer.

 Morning, all.

Blueberry beer sounds interesting. I'd try it.

That Gatorade thing was funny. Like Deb, I laughed more at the outraged idiots in the comments area.

Sorry, Anne. :heee: When I was searching for that picture, I did find some actual decent-looking over the glasses sunglasses if you're interested or can't find good clipons.

You'll never accuse me of stealing your beer. I don't like flavored ones AT ALL. But it sounds cool anyway. Believe it or not, it does. It is my favorite type of beer. Wachusett makes it, as does a local brew pub. At the brew pub they put blueberries in the glass too, and they float up and down on the bubbles from the beer.

My husband is the same way, but he'll drink the blueberry stuff. The same brew pub makes watermelon beer in the summer. It comes with a slice of watermelon on the rim. That is really good too...but as you can see I like fruity drinks!

Speaking of fruity drinks, I just went up to the store to buy an ingredient for dinner, and I just had to buy a bottle of Gatorade!

Starting him already eh, Shanna? Between the dresses and the Gatorade I don't know.....

If those fruity beers don't taste like beer then I might like them. :) Me no likey beer. Me likey fruity drinks. :)

 about the Gatorade!

Mnnnn....Blueberry Beer. We have a Texas Roadhouse, but I've never been (not big on chains), but I may just go to sample that beer!! I love fruity beers. We have a local brewpub that makes a killer raspberry one.

Raspberry Weiss
200 pounds of fresh raspberries are added to our traditional Weiss beer resulting in a deep red brew with real raspberry flavor.
:lick:

BTW...add me to the list of people imbibing last night. I was enjoying some Chianti.

Today I tried out Starbucks Blackberry Green Tea Frappuccino Blended Creme, because I thought I needed to feel more 'zen like'. I guess Elliott decided he needed the same, because at one point at the zoo, I looked over and he had snatched it out of the wagon and was feverishly sucking from teh straw. He flipped out when I took it away.

That sounds like too much going on in a cup for me. :dead:

We ran out quickly this morning for some staples (and Sudafed!) and I'm thinking I shouldn't have been driving. We were stopped at a light and the car in the left turn lane started turning and I went, too (straight). My light was still red. :shuffle: Oops. I didn't realize it until I was halfway through the intersection and saw the oncoming cars trying to turn into me. :heee: We made it home safely, but I've taken the car keys away from myself until I'm less floaty-headed.

I accidentally slipped and spilled my freshly purchased $4 breve (latte with half and half) down my leg while driving home yesterday and in addition to burning the crap out of my foot it soaked my still unread copy of The Pact, this month's OUAL book club book. Is that a sign from the god's that it's OK if I don't read it?

(And this is when Nichole inserts, "no it's a sign from the gods that you were a sucker for spending $4 on a cup of coffee".)

Bev
April 27th, 2006, 05:03 PM
No, it's a sign from the Gods that you must sue the crap out of the overly priced coffee shop chain for millions of dollars for not advising you that you should not drink and drive while holding a hot beverage. :)

And again, on you Bridget no, it's not.

Nichole

Hey, you can piss your money away any way you'd like. I'm sorry it spilled, though. At least it was on your way home and not on the way to work. Nothing worse than facing a whole day with coffee-stained clothes. ;)

Nichole - glad you were okay!!! I did that once when I was pg with Emily. I had my American cousin in the car and she was freaked out enough about driving on the "wrong" side of the road, then I really scared her by rolling through a red light  Luckily it was a quiet intersection but it was outside a police station :shuffle:

Clare, this week's episode was in Perth. I meant to mention that yesterday, but forgot. They went to some old prison via ferry and then the mat was at the sailing club on the breakwater. That would have been so cool to see you on there! :wavey:

I'm playing hooky this morning. :shuffle: I felt like death when I woke up, so I dropped the boys off at daycare and came back home. I may go into work after taking a nap, but I figured I'd be useless if I went in. Plus, my cubemate has a baby and I'm sure she'd appreciate if I didn't spread my pestilence to her. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Good afternoon everybody - been busy running around so haven't had a chance to check in yet.

Ahhhh, nothing like the feeling of freshly polished teeth after a dentist visit! That's my favorite part. I'd go get a polishing weekly if my insurance would cover it. Then to Target to pick up a prescription, the grocery store, and this afternoon a followup eye doctor appointment to see if the antibiotics are helping. What fun!

At least the weather is promising to be nice this weekend. James can take Caroline to the park and wear her butt OUT tomorrow! :woo:

We're supposed to go to NY next weekend - is it too awful of me to really not want to go? It's just such an ordeal, talking to FIL makes me want to drink bleach, and we never actually GO anywhere, just sit around the house.

Trish
April 28th, 2006, 12:05 PM

Feeling any better, Nichole? You're not driving yet are you?

As for me...I just got off running one con call and have another to run in a few minutes. There is hardly anyone in the office today :dunno: and my motivation is starting to wane. I also look like crappola. I woke up late and have this retarded high pony tail going on that looks kind of cute, but not work cute. Well its Saturday night here 10:30pm. Tony is down the coast having a boys night out with a few old friends. So I am here by myself watching Oceans Eleven on TV and surfing the net.

I dropped my parents off to the Airport today and the kids had fun watching the planes coming and going. But I must say, the experience sent me homoe with butterflies galore in my stomach for our trip, Aiden got bored of watching the planes after 45minutes and then spent the next 45minutes running around the airport and going around corners etc...(I was on my own though because Tony had already left for his trip, so I know when we go overseas I will have him with me) but it really made me realise what I am about to get myself into, and the thought of him getting lost in a foreign country just makes me feel sick to my stomach! :errr:

BUT thankfully Clare was online and I had a random conversation with her about lots of other things and my nerves calmed down a bit.

fun and games to be had!!

Bridget
April 29th, 2006, 08:46 AM
:morning:

Nothing exciting here Lisa. We're making coffee and prepping for breakfast. Then once my MIL/FIL get here we're going to finish up some painting and hang a new light fixture in the bathroom. Then I'm going to clean. I don't know what else my husband is doing. It's super rainy and gross outside so no playing out for the kids I'm afraid.

Morning/evening Deb! Glad you got to have a chat with Clare. Don't fret over losing the kids in a foreign country!!! You'll never let that happen. :) :justahug:

Hopefully Nichole will wake up feeling better today. :)

Mason spent the night at MILs. We have to go get him shortly. We'll hit Canadian Tire for a gerry-can for gas for the lawn-mower and a new hose nozzle attachment. It is very quiet without him! Graham can play with Mason's lego all he wants! :)

I'm down to my last bit of painting today. THANK GOD. Ugh. I just got done rinsing a bunch of paint trays and brushes in the freezing rain, but I'm not complaining. Last time I had to do it in January. (We don't rinse our paint stuff in the house because we have a lagoon.) I'm on the last dreaded bit - pulling out the washer and dryer in the laundry room and then that's it for the weekend. :woo:

Kai is putting a second coat on two doors downstairs. He sprayed them at first and they're ultra green, ultra shiny and fah-reaky. Can't explain it but they don't look right. So he's brushing new coats on.

OK enough goofing off, I've got latex calling my name...

Wasp patrol? Hmmmm, may I borrow them sometime? I seem to have a problem with bees.

You're all wrong! It's a jacket from Costco! :lol2: And that drink was actually Tracey's strawberry-tini that she didn't finish (it was her second that she regretted ordering as soon as she got it). I'd already finished my cosmo and Rosemount shiraz and Stef also had the shiraz. We may have done a little OUAL dishing. :awink:

Pam, it was Charlie's by the Sea in Cardiff.

We're back from the zoo and we're beat. It was a really great time and I'll have pictures to show off later. Time to go get everyone in their jammies and into bed.

Would you eat your kids last chocolate easter bunny to subside that time of the month cravings even though you are on a diet?

Stacy
April 29th, 2006, 10:38 PM
yes otherwise you will try to find other things to fill that craving and you will still end up eating the bunny anyway.

MrsPeacefrog
April 30th, 2006, 02:05 AM
Okay well I haven't had the bunny, I wanted it really really bad, but I held back.. but now I am so annoyed at my husband that I may just go eat it (damn emotional eating!)

He went away on a boys thing this weekend, I was at the airport with my mother when he left so I didn't see what he packed etc. When I got home one of our pillows from our bed was gone, so obviously he took one down with him.... Annoying because we have heaps of spare pillows he could have taken, but whatever.

Well the asshole gets back this afternoon, crawls straight into bed with a hangover from hell and then rolls over, calls out to me and says "oops I left the pillow down the coast" YES the very pillow that has the matching pillow case to my 400TC Egyptian Olive green cotton sheets :angry2: :fado:

I am so unimpressed with him right now! who the HELL does that?? Now I have a mismatching set. Not to mention it was one of our GOOD pillows. Stuff him I am going to get the flattest pillow with the scratchiest pillowcase for him to sleep on... I wonder how long I should punish him for!

Clare

Oh Deb :hug99: That's really annoying :( where did they stay? Any chance of getting back?

MrsPeacefrog
April 30th, 2006, 05:25 AM
I have no idea where they stayed. And its 7:30pm and he is STILL asleep. I SMS'd his friend that lives down where they stayed (they stayed in a hotel because it was close to where they were going out and didn't want to travel too far back) and asked him if he noticed the pillow there when they left, and if not wether he can go back and grab it. I told him I don't care about the pillow just to post me back the pillow case.

BUT he is a boy as well so the odds of him actually doing it are probably slim. I hate spending money on nice things and them being treated with little regard. Tony is shocking like that!

LISA
April 30th, 2006, 07:55 AM
Oh I don't blame you for being pissed Deb! :tearhair: can you call the hotel yourself and ask if the cleaning staff saw it?

Bridget

Deb I'd be hot over that, too. I think it's worth a shot to call the place... good luck. Love the flat/scratchy pillow punishment.

Well I asked Tony what hotel it was and his answer was "I don't remember call Matt"

So tomorrow I will have to chase it up with his mate that lives down there

I feel like an idiot ringing up and searching for a pillowcase!

LISA
April 30th, 2006, 09:15 AM
Deb, don't feel like an idiot, it's an expensive case, if it were me I would be threatening dh with a new expensive bedding set to replace the pillowcase and I bet my dh would remember the name of the hotel in a hurry

Horror movie - yikes!
My DH is watching the final game of the Euroleague cup (basketball) - one of the contestants is his favorite group: Maccabbi Tel Aviv. They won the last 2 years and we are hoping they will win again. When he watches I have to shut up. Can you imagine how hard that is? LOL

:lol2: Lisa!

Well no luck, we rang the place and the housekeepers said they didn't find it. So looks like he is buying me a new sheet set now!!

So how is this for a string of bad luck!... You just couldn't make this shit up it's so unbelievable!

As you know my parents have headed to Italy ahead of us. My father is doing a 14 day bike tour of Sicily with his friends. So he gets to Rome airport and what is missing.. yep you guessed it.. HIS BIKE! he got so upset and had to line up in the missing baggage queue. They find out the bike is still in Bangkok where they changed planes. And won't be arriving in Rome till the morning after.

So off he goes to collect the van that we will be using when we get there, and they had put in Riley's seat but Jacob's was not there. Unfortunately as this is a lease car, not a hire car, there is nothing that we could do about it. So they are now going to have to go buy a carseat before we get there.

Then there friends flight who they were meeting at Rome airport and driving down to Sicily with was delayed 5 hours so they had to sit around the airport waiting. As they had to wait for his bike they stayed in a hotel near the airport.

They go out to dinner and my mother orders fish and my father pasta, the restuarant accidently makes two fish so my father says he will eat it. And proceeds to get a fishbone stuck in his throat and ends up in hospital to get it removed. When they got it out, it measured over an inch long!

TALK ABOUT UNBELIEVABLE! My poor mother was dying with laughter telling me about it.... of course there wasn't laughter earlier but now that the day is over with all they could do was laugh! hopefully that is the LAST of there bad luck. And I am hoping it doesn't transfer onto us when we leave for our trip

Yikes! I'm glad that your parents are laughing about it! I also hope this is the end of the bad luck. It comes in 3's, so the bike, carseat and fish bone should be it!!
