Aidan goes to daycare part time. His teacher told us that he was ready for potty training. So two weekends ago, we put him in undies and put him on the potty every 30 minutes. We did this for two days. Not once did he go in the potty....he went everywhere else, though
Needless to say, I deemed him not ready. We are going to attempt again this summer when I can let him go w/o pants. I hate pullups, so we wont be using that route.

my daughter is 21 months old and has been using the potty atleast one time per day for the past week and a half. I bought her a potty so she could get used to it. I'm in no hurry at all though. I hope she will wait a while longer before training. I too can't wait for warmer weather because it will be easier with less clothing on  Right now I put the pull-up type diapers on her. They aren't pull-ups but they are the ones that they sell for walkers. They are diapers but they pull-up. :) I never did let my son wear underwear until he was already trained pretty much. He took until about one week past his 3rd birthday before he was completely trained. I hope my daughter does it a little sooner but if she doesn't then that's okay too.

So far Lexie is doing great at peeing in her potty! We took her potty out on Feb. 29th (23 mos. old) and she went pee pee in her potty 3 times that day! We told her to tell us when she has to do pee pee or poo poo and we can try to do it in the potty. The first 2 times she said she had to go, we put her in the potty and nothing. The 3rd time she told us she had to go pee pee so we put her on the potty and she did it! Now from that point on she always does pee pee in the potty when she tells us she has to. :) Each time she doess pee pee, we put a sticker on the underside of her potty lid afterwards. I actually let her put the sticker on and she feels so proud. I don't think it's the sticker part that is making her go...I think it's her readiness...the stickers are just a plus. :) However I don't show disappointment the times she did go pee pee in her diaper. I want her to know that it's ok. She only has a few diapers left and when she's done with these I want to get her the ones that Pampers make that pull up. My mom will be getting her the training underwear...and I think we'll wait a lil' while longer before I use those only. I think I'll wait until she's using her potty more times per day.

It's funny because at first we had wanted Lexie to get use to the potty...so we did have it out a couple mos. ago. After thinking for a while, I felt it was "too soon"...even for her to get use to it lying around. So we put it back and decided to wait until she was older and showed much more signs of readiness. Well, what timing we've had so far because from the day we first took it out a few days ago....she has 10 stickers or more on there already. You would think she's used her potty before....she's a pro! She even wipes herself and steps up on it (can be used as a step stool too) and washes her hands. She is without a doubt, ready...she pees 2-3 times a day in her potty. That's the main thing....just take your time with it, and it will happen when they are ready. :) We have Lexie be the lead and we sort of follow/guide. So far no #2's...she will tell us she has to go poo poo but unfortunately our bathroom is on the 2nd floor and by the time we race up there she has already done it in her diaper. This potty training thing honestly started happening for us way before we had even thought. I figured by 2 1/2 yrs. old it would start....our kids have a way of showing us otherwise!

Oh, and as for potty books....would you believe we don't have not ONE!
