Tumbleweeds, be gone! :booted:
Let's get it started (ha), let's get it started in here! http://yelims5.free.fr/Zik/Musique36.gif
Q: What thought is in the back of your mind right now?
My A: I'd love some chocolate right now.
My other A: I wish those people would be quiet.

There's a party over here, so you might as well be here...
I am in need of a posting party. I've got about 4 things happening at once. DH took Caroline to the park (yay for Jewish holidays that close the office early!), so I'm washing a load of sheets/towels, having a snack, working on my entry to a Circle Journal, and making cookies.
My throat hurts. :blue:

I really need a nap, but Chad is out of town, so no rest for me tonight :( I'll just have my own little pity party for myself

The only thought in the back of my mind is for me to get my a$$ off of here, and put the groceries away that's still sitting in bags on the kitchen floor. :blush1:
Adios! :bolt:

A: I really hope the kids stay asleep for another hour.
A #2: When the eff are my flip flops going to get here?
Nichole
April 19th, 2006, 04:05 PM
 That's funny, Sheila. I'm not sure if my situation is worse or better than that. Imagine a giant hospital hallway, but full of boxes and people putting shit in those boxes. Then imagine a little walled in area at the end of it, where another hallway intersects. Got that visual? See me waving from that little walled in area? :wavey:

A2: Stagg had better get home before 7 tonight.
A3: I hope this Boston Creme Pie turns out ok.

April 19th, 2006, 04:11 PM
My A: I'm so happy that Brookelyn is napping, it's nice outside and I'm finally having some quiet time to myself!
My other A: I don't want to go to work.. uggh.. only 3-7 but still yuck!!
Nichole
April 19th, 2006, 04:12 PM
Wait, you actually wouldn't be able to see me waving anymore. We just got some fancypants saloon-style doors on the cube. (not really fancy at all; they're pretty cheesy but they keep the drafts out)
New A: Peeyew. Somebody must have spilled a stanky chemical out here. :dead:

A: Why does my child refuse to nap today other than an hour?
A2: If I'd known she wouldn't go to sleep for me, I would have just dragged her butt to the grocery store
A3: She's in her crib talking to herself, so maybe I'll get her and get out now before I've completely lost my motivation to go.

Shit...the kids *did* sleep for an extra hour. WOW! I got a lot done, too! Go me!
I need some sunglasses ASAP for my drive on Friday. Anyone know where to get kool glasses for cheap? (i lose them all the farkin' time!)

Karri, try Target or Walmart...though if you have a Kohls nearby...they are having a mondo sale on everything right now.
Nichole
April 19th, 2006, 05:15 PM
I just got some coolio glasses at Tarzhay, Karri.
Even when I slice apples, I have to floss. I have just enough space between my molars that crap gets stuck all the farking time. :tearhair: I guess the silver lining is that I won't be getting cavities back there with all of this flossing.

Karri
April 19th, 2006, 05:23 PM
Alrighty, then. I will do a Target and Kohls run for a purse and glasses :aok:
I see, Nichole. I floss a lot, too (like 2x a day). But for me, its because I cant stand the feeling of anything less than clean teeth.

Becky, Kid Rock...how cool!!! Have fun!
I'm also a flosser. Funny this was mentioned, because I just bought new floss today at the grocery store. We're running low & I REFUSE to not have any floss in this house. :nono: I need to floss AT LEAST once a day to get the yuckies out.

In the back of my mind... the fact that this is the third night in a row that I'll be on my own with the kids for dinner and bedtime. :( At least Brad will be back late tonight though.
I have no motivation to feed the kids. ugh.

Mmm, now I'm hungry for a bowl of cereal. Breakfast for dinner is a standard at our house when Brendon is gone. Just like my mom always did for us when our dad was out of town. The tradition carries on.

My daughter is sitting next to me, feeling me up. :wtf:
Cereal for dinner is cool. But I soooo know what you mean, Stacey. Like you just want to not do a farkin' thing. Even pour milk. You are so done. :hug99: Hang in there.

Stacey
April 19th, 2006, 06:36 PM
Thanks, guys. I had actually thought of those things. But I generally try to feed the kids the same thing. And Cole's a milk hound, so I didn't want him to have cereal... because he's had so much milk already today. Cole had cheese sandwich and pears for lunch (and completely snubbed the sandwich), so that was out for him. Maia (who was at school) had pb&j for lunch. So I couldn't figure out what easy meal to give them both.
Maia ended up getting cereal. Cole had a pb&j. I think I'll sling a little apple sauce their way and call it a meal. :blush1: Thanks for the advice and cheering.
You want to hear something fun? At almost 3pm today, Brad asked me, "Do you remember that my brother's in town?" I said no and added that he'd better not be suggesting that he wasn't coming straight home. He said he wasn't, but that his brother would be coming over. I was pissed because of what time he reminded me. I could have straightened up earlier in the day when I only had Coley with me. At that point in the afternoon, I was hoping to just throw it into autopilot and make sure the kids didn't mame themselves until Brad got home. I am so not in the mood to hang out with Brad's brother right now. So he got an earful for that.
He ended up telling his brother he was getting home late tonight and that he'll see him tomorrow. For those thinking I'm a little bitchy because it's his brother, his brother's a bit of a schmoe who only visits us when it's completely convenient for him.
Nichole
April 19th, 2006, 06:40 PM
I don't think you're bitchy. The last thing I'd want to do is entertain someone after 3 exhausting days, when you're just looking forward to a break. :dead:
TtownAnne
April 19th, 2006, 07:12 PM
Nope, definitely not bitchy. Springing stuff a few hours beforehand is not cool! :noqueno:
Our neighbor is pissing us off with some parking mindgames. James is now saying that should our Malibu (old car) die, he's going to pay the $200/yr. insurance just to keep it and leave it sitting in front of our house just so Dave can't take the parking space.
Dawn
April 19th, 2006, 07:34 PM
Yea, your bitchy Stacey.
Kidding! Seriously, I wouldn't want my BIL coming over either if I felt that way about him. Schmoe. I don't like when pple do that crap for the convenience of themselves. :disbelief:
I hope the visit won't last too long. You think it will? Does he have a tendency of staying for a while even though tons of hints are dropped like yawning, and getting the kids in bed, etc.?
Damn, dinner was mighty good. Ice cream cake soon! :lick:

Q: What thought is in the back of your mind right now?
A: Man do my lips hurt!!! I'm not used to playing for 3 1/2 hours straight anymore! At least my TMJ didn't act up!

April 19th, 2006, 09:51 PM
Stacey, don't feel like you're being bitchy. I'm a total rag over unexpected houseguests and that's regardless of whether I've been on my own for days or not. I can be a total pushover on lots of things (mostly because I can be guilted into doing things I don't want to do), but not on that subject, and it doesn't matter WHO it is. Kai has learned his lesson on that the hard way. http://www.smileypad.com/v202/Cache/Rude/Bondage.gif
Kai got home late tonight and then went out to mow, so I let Caleb go without a bath and just washed Ahna in the sink. My kids are dirty birds.
Ahna has runny poop and I think it is strangely stinky and Kai doesn't (he came in as I was getting ready to wash her) so cross your fingers it's not anything bad. :dead:

:wavey: Hi everyone....
A #1: I am too embarrassed to tell everyone how much of a bad mother I am, because Aiden drank 3/4 of a bottle of cold and flu medicine and spent yesterday afternoon in a trance and sleeping  (of course AFTER I confirmed he would be okay by ringing poison control)
A #2: I wonder if I can convince my husband to go away with his mates Monday night (its a public holiday on Tuesday) instead of Friday night so I don't get left alone on the weekend? :heee:

OMG, Deb. Hmm...but longer naps are compelling. I might have to think of this someday. :awink:
I was very scarce today and haven't dug much...did I miss some drama?
I had a crazy day. I got up at 4:30am to drive Joe, Aidan & Colin to the airport so they could fly to DC for the day to go to the zoo. Lucky kids, huh? Nice perk of being able to fly for free. All would have been okay since I work from home on Wednesdays, but I got an urgent call at 8:22am asking that I come in to the office after all for a 9:30am mtg. :woa: So I ran into the shower, threw a pj'd Jack in the infant seat, and drove the 40 minutes to the office where I begged my mom to meet me to take Jack. Our receptionist had to watch him for a bit before my mom was able to get there.
The boys had a great time in DC, zoo and plane alike. :aok:
Hey - anyone know any good sites where I can study curtain styles? That same babysitting receptionist has a sewing business and is going to make me curtains for the boys' bedroom. I think I just want a valance but I'm not sure. :dunno:

Wow Deb, less then a month! That's come around quickly :) I'm gone from OUAL for around 4 weeks every year at Christmas and I will grudgingly admit that this place does survive without me
I am bringing the laptop but I am global roaming my internet which is expensive so I will only be popping in on the occasion...
Alex's work set us up with something similiar for our last trip to Sydney. He asked for a set plan but they put him on something like global roaming. We hardly used the internet. I checked in here about 3 or 4 times and we did a bit of touristy research on the net as well as him doing a small amount of work. His boss told him recently that the bill for our internet access for our trip was $11000!!! :faint: I had a mild heart attack when I thought they were going to make us pay it, but then had to laugh when I discovered that they were covering it!

NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there had to be something wrong!!!!!!!!!!
I would have a severe heartattack if that happened!
I did test it out...its a local phonecall when I use it.. and its definately billed at $8 an hour.. I only get billed for the minutes I used too.. I tried it for 30 minutes and at the end of the month I got a bill for $4 so I felt happy to see that!! I feel comfortable using it.. even if I use it for an hour a day the most I will get charged is $256 .... a flippen huge amount for 5 weeks internet, but I will be writing it off on my business account :awink: considering I need to check my ebay stock while away!!! Plus the great thing is the last week in Rome our hotel room has a computer and internet access so I will definatley do alot of catching up then!!

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/12/12_6_14.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824YYAU) "there will be no action while Deb is away, we promise to be boring, dull, talk very little and sit in the corner crying and sobbing out of control at her lack of presence, we will resume activity as normal when Deb gets back"
AAHHHH feeling so much better already! :heee:
So does this mean that no one can give birth or get pregnant?:scan:
Ladies - keep your legs closed until Deb gets back.
No grape debates allowed.

Karri - that H2 website is great! I freakin' hate those things, too! :angry2:
Deb - so jealous of your trip :tongue2: BUT, I do hope you have a fabulous time ;)

Note to self: do not open the TAR9 thread until after watching the show. :tmi:
It's killing me not to look!
Deb, we'll miss you. Have a wonderful time.
Maybe we should have a cliff notes thread to make it easier for Deb to catch up on anything really important that happens while she's gone.

I was so bummed Lost wasn't on last night! Oh well, at least it will now be new episodes until the end of the season.
Went and stocked up on medicine this morning, and picked up my purse at Kohls. Now I'm going to lay on the sofa while DH picks Caroline up from school! :dude:

Cliff notes. Who's volunteering to be secretary for Deb?
Sheila, I had a hard time not clicking on the TAR thread. I can't not click on a thread with new posts! It's some kind of sickness.
Lying down, Anne? Are you feeling yucky or just kicking your feet up while the getting's good?
TtownAnne
April 20th, 2006, 10:49 AM
Both, actually! Wracking cough and sore throat, but also just taking advantage of the peace. :)
Lying down, Anne? Are you feeling yucky or just kicking your feet up while the getting's good?

A1: Today Dan and I have been together for 12 years. How in the world is that possible. What was I thinking when I saw that cute boy in the little track suit
A2: Why do I ask for this torture. Timmy (the little boy I nanny) is cutting 2 eye teeth, 2 front teeth and one bottom molar all at the same time. He is 9 months old :tearhair:

April 20th, 2006, 11:17 AM
Oh, I'm sorry you're not feeling well, Anne. :hug99:
Yuck Jayne, that doesn't sound like a fun day for anyone! :errr:
A for today: I wish my boys would stop dismantling the couch! :tearhair:

Deb, I'm jealous of your trip too! Lucky girl!
Well, we just got back from gymnastics and I want to quickly straighten up a little. Then pack a lunch so we can have a little picnic at the park. :)
 It's going to be an almost 80 degree day here in NJ!

It is already 70 and it is going to go up to 79. I am feeding the kids and we are going out to play in the back yard! I love this weather!
Mandi
April 20th, 2006, 11:47 AM
That sounds fun, Dawn! Upper 70's is almost perfect weather IMO. :)
Becky, I didn't see you as a Kid fan. Have a blast!
I've got a mountain of laundry to do but I don't want to. :bawl:  Maybe if I put on some :booty: shaking music I'll get inspired.

April 20th, 2006, 11:50 AM
I'm trying to muster up some motivation here too, Mandi. :dead: Maybe I should print out my spring cleaning list and hang it up as a constant reminder of how much crap I need to get done.

Becky - I'm so jealous that you are going!! You are going to have a blast!! I've heard he puts on a great show! :dude: The last two times he has come to town I've been quite pg, so I haven't gone :(
I hate when it's gorgeous outside and I'm stuck inside working :(

It's gorgeous here today and I practically had to twist Liam's arm to get him to go outside. He's a weird kid.

I'm so thankful for the Jewish holidays that make it possible for DH to be home today. He picked Caroline up from school, and now is taking her to storytime while I lay on the sofa and glug drinks for my throat. I've gone to the bathroom more times just today than I normally do in THREE days, thanks to everything I've been drinking! :woa:
However, I am trying to be at least remotely active, I do have a load of laundry in and went to the post office this morning (Bridget!). Now if I could just figure out what to have for dinner that I wouldn't actually have to cook, that would be groovy.
Mandi
April 20th, 2006, 01:51 PM
Order in, Anne! :) I mentioned this to Nichole before, but I'm pretty sure it's against the law to cook on the night that Survivor and CSI are on. :dunno:
Trish
April 20th, 2006, 01:59 PM
Sounds like a good rule to me, Mandi!

Nichole

If I follow that rule, then I'd have to apply it to TAR night, too.
Anne, have James pick something up on his way home from getting Caroline. :aok:

:wavey: Good Morning Everyone!
Maybe we should have a cliff notes thread to make it easier for Deb to catch up on anything really important that happens while she's gone.
:lol2: Now there is the idea of the century!!!!! :heee:
And thats right, no pregnancies, no births, no break ups or get togethers, no cat fights, no fun threads, just boring NOTHING while I am gone :heee: and if there is... there is trouble to pay :catfight:
Atleast for now I still have another 3.5 weeks of OUAL before I leave so I will just have to make the most of it! :awink:
So now lets do the OPPOSITE of what I am telling you NOT to do while I am gone... lets P A R T Y! http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_6_2v.gif (http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZNxdm824YYAU)
Oh and if I come back and find Alyssa pregnant I will KNOW who to blame....*cough* Mandi
okay A1: do antibitocs make you fart? Jacob is the fart king over the last few days
A2: I wonder if I should blow my whole day away OUALing it, or if I should be constructive and take the kids down to the park and then shopping?
Hey Becky, I see its your birthday tomorrow!!! its already tomorrow in Australia sooooo :bday: :heee:

Hey, I'm not to blame. Her husband would be.
a1- Yeah, I've heard it can cause gas and/or intestinal issues. Lucky you! :woo:
a2- Well duh, spend it on here. Like there is a choice there.

The thought that's in the back of my mind right now is:
I wish James wasn't snoring so loud! It's been a while since he snored loud, what gives? Now I'm wide awake so I'm coming on here to catch up.

Alyssa, let me know if you need shin guards or socks - we have both left over after Caroline's abortive attempt at soccer. :disbelief
