Some of you know that I am having Aiden's 4th birthday party at the Wiggly Play Centre. (http://www.wigglyplaycentre.com.au)

I have the option to chose a platter of food for the parents who will be coming with there kids to the party.

And I can't make up my mind which platter to order.

I will do it as a poll option... I have narrowed it down from a list of 10..to a list of 5... I am only going to chose 1 platter.

If you can vote on what you would like to be served it will really help me make up my mind.

I think I'd go with sandwiches because it seems like the broadest selection. Actually I would probably do two of them if it's not too expensive. Like sandwiches and wedgies (fries, I'm assuming?). Or pastizzis and cheese. It seems like each platter by itself is a little skimpy. Sorry. :( Not that you're being skimpy, but the options are by themselves.

Ok, what are the other five options?

 each platter is around the $20 mark I technically would rather stick to one being the total cost of the party before the platter is already at the $220 mark... BUT if I get enough "thats too skimpy" remarks I would definatley consider doing 2... whats another $20 right!

Wedges are a thicker wedge of potato with a crispy seasoning on the outside of it...

Okay the other 5 options are:

- Savoury Platter (have no idea what this involves)
- Dessert Platter
- Fresh Fruit Platter
- Cold Meat Platter
- Devil Wings Platter

The party is 10:30 - 12:30 if that helps.

Given the time of the party, I think a snack, not a full meal, should be appropriate. I hate when places like that jack the prices of everything up because they know you are hostage and can not bring anything in from the outside.

I don't know what Pastizzis are, pastries?

Does it say how many people each platter feeds? I'm assuming if it feeds close to the amount of adults that will be there, you should be good.

I'm thinking sandwich too but if there is something with more variety that is more snack-like, that may be better. Focaccia sounds good. I'd go with whichever was the most food for your 20.

Could you call and see what the savoury platter is? Might be more variety?

I'd think that sandwiches would be the most logical choice. :dunno:

IMO you are not responsible for feeding everyone. I'd just do one platter and leave it at that. The party is over early enough that they can go home and have lunch at their own house. Why incur even more expense?

I like the sandwhich platter idea.

I would love to vote but I have no idea what any of them are. Can you give a brief description? I do agree with Mandi. Since the party ends at 12:30 they can snack at the party and go home and eat.

Yeah my original thought for the platter was to just have something on the side for the parents to nibble on while they kids run around like crazy, they have a Cafe there where the parents can get coffee's cakes, drinks etc.. so I thought if I offered them some food then they can get there own drinks and sit back and have a good chat while there kids run around.

Okay here is the description:

Wedges I explained above as thick wedge cuts of potato with crispy seasoning on the outside (fried like fries) with sour cream for dipping.. (my personal favourite)

Pastizzi's are puff pastry wraps with different fillings like ricotta and spinach, or feta and corn etc... cooked in an oven.

Foccacia is that thick herbed italian bread with different toppings

Cheese and dip is self explanitory as is the sandwich platter.

I might give them a quick ring and find out what the savoury platter involves.

I am going with the sandwich platter. And given the time & length of the party, I think its plenty of food. Parents are going to be busy tending to their children, anyway, so I would see this as something to tide me over until I get home.

I voted Pastizzes, they seem to have enough variety and a nice hor d'oruvre to serve. Your guests shouldn't expect more than that.

Okay I just rang them.. the Savoury Platter has mini dim sims and Samosa's on it..

Each platter feeds up to 10 adults she said the most popular platter is the Wedges & Sour cream

My vote goes for the wedge fries and sour cream, which I've have a massive craving for ever since you started the original party thread :lick:

I was just thinking about it, and I think the wedges and sour cream would be good. That is obviously a snack, not a meal. People could think that sandwiches are meant to be lunch, and expect more or something else to go with it. Having the wedges (or the savoury platter) makes it obvious that you are providing a snack, not a meal.

I never met a fry I didn't like! The savoury platter sounds delish! I'm sure you've narrowed it down to the two so pick the one you'd most like to snack on.

Okay I have decided to go with the Savoury platter... So far I have 7 kids RSVP'd as coming I am waiting on another 4. If those 4 come I will most probably end up doing two platters incase both parents come (which could happen being its a Sunday and they have unlimited access to the play centre after the party) so I will do the wedges as well... But if they don't come then I will stick with the Savoury platter.

Thanks for all your help :hug99:
