Isabella has been showing a lot of interest in the potty lately. She goes in there every chance she can get. She's fascinated by it. She'll flush one piece of toilet paper and cheer and get all excited. She loves to stand next to me while I or Jim go. She is wanting to trade up her diapers for pull ups.
I'm just wondering, should I pull out the little potty and start having her sit on it? Maybe when I go or something. Just start getting her used to it?
She's 18 mos old and the youngest of 4.
The boys both pretty much potty trained themselves at 3 years old. I didn't have to do much.
Lily would still be wearing diapers if I let her. She could just careless about it.
I've never had a child so excited about pting at such a young age. I'm just wondering if she's too young.

Ideas? Suggestions?

I would bring out the potty if she seems interested. You've got nothing to lose, right? Don't be surprised, though, if she doesn't actually train and loses interest. She still is on the young side. :)

At 18 months old, Emma liked to sit on the potty and act like a big girl. She didn't actually train until a month before she turned 3. I'd say its fine to let her play with it and get used to it, but don't expect that she's going to actually train any faster than your others did.

At 18 months, we had a 3 month (or so) span where Katie pooped on the potty pretty consistently. She loved it, and I was over the moon, since I didn't have more than 6 poopy diapers last summer.

Of course, when she lost interest, she REALLY lost it.

We've had the potty out since Katie was 18 months or so. We never pushed Katie and she will sit on it and say, "I go potty." So she is very comfortable with it. Then again, she hasn't done anything ON the potty yet. However, she will go into the bathroom to poop lately, she won't sit on the potty, but she will poop in the bathroom.

Ava was the same way and now she's going on the potty pretty consistantly during the day at just past 2. She started wanting to go at around 18 months. I think they just want to be like their older siblings.

My goddaughter was that way at about that age (I think, she's 7 now so my memory is a little foggy) and she was mostly trained at the age of 2. I say as long as you're not pushy about it, go ahead and let her sit on it and try to use it.

I'd say bring it out!! Out of 15 kids in our IRL playgroup, TWO were completely PTd before they were 2 years old! You just may have hit the jackpot with Isabella!
