View Full Version : Southern Californians!!
FluffyPeanut February 21st, 2004, 11:30 AM Anyone else from Southern California? I was born in Gardena and raised in Hermosa Beach. I now live in Tustin and love it out here. We're only 10 minutes away from Disneyland, the local beaches, (Huntington, Newport, etc.), shopping malls, etc.!!I'm also central to all of our family members (most of our family in only about 45 minutes away)!
LeslieC March 1st, 2004, 09:28 PM Hi Heather!
I can't belive there are no other So Cal girls here yet!!! I'm in Burbank, but I lived in Hollywood since I was 13. The schools are better here in Burbank, so I moved when my son was in first grade. I used to think it was way to quiet and calm for me, but now I love it!! :) I can't imagine not living in Southern California!!! (Except for maybe Hawaii!!)
Tracey March 2nd, 2004, 12:41 AM I am! Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley....lived in Santa Barbara, New York...then back to live in the San Gabriel Valley, Long Beach, and Orange County. I now live in the Conejo Valley area (Ventura County).
FluffyPeanut March 2nd, 2004, 02:20 AM Hi Leslie and Tracey! :wavey:
Leslie ~ I totally agree. There is no greater place to live other than SoCal or Hawaii!! My dream is to buy a condo on Oahu, Hawaii so I can visit there when it's winter over here! I need my sunshine!
Nichole March 2nd, 2004, 11:08 AM Another So Cal girl here! :wavey: We live north of San Diego, near the Wild Animal Park. I'm not originally from here; my parents moved us out here from South Dakota when I was 16. I went to college in Santa Barbara (loved it!) and then moved back down to the San Diego area after that.
While we do mostly like it here, I'll probably be the lone voice of dissent and draw lots of :slap: and :colfish: hits from everyone when I say that we'd like to move away some day. We're thinking of going up to Oregon or Washington because we're getting tired of the crowding, traffic, and expense of living here. And truthfully, I get a little bored with the weather. :blush1: I miss the rain!
Anyway, it's nice to see some other local people around here! :wavey:
LisaE March 2nd, 2004, 02:50 PM Another Southern Cali girl here!! :wavey:
I live in Bellflower, which is a neighboring city to Long Beach. I was born and raised here and LOVE it!! I love being so close to the beach, Catalina Island (where most of my family is) and I love the weather, the people....everything!
NickiB March 5th, 2004, 10:51 AM Hi there,
I am in North San Diego too. I am about 30 minutes from downtown San Diego. I grew up in a small town 2 hours east of here, went to College in Santa Barbara for a year and then have been here in the San Diego area. So I have been here in Southern CA my whole life. I love the weather, but it is gettng a little crowded! I do love being close to a lot of places though like the SD zoo, Disneyland (1 hour away), etc.
belflora March 9th, 2004, 11:02 PM I live in North San Diego as well.. we moved here almost 3years ago.. I'd never even *been* to San Diego when my husband took this job.. but we love it.. it's a big change.. I grew up just south of Boston.. but I really don't care what ocean I look at.. as long as I look at an ocean :)
and I *really* don't mind that our house has gone up about $140,000 in the time we've lived here.. :)
:)

AmyJ March 14th, 2004, 09:55 PM Hi!
I too live in So. CA. We live in Victorville, in the Mojave Desert. We are 90 minutes from L.A. and 2 1/2 hrs. from Vegas. We just got annual passes to Disneyland, we're about an hour from there.
We are both transplants. I was born and raised outside of Boston and my husband is from Colorado.

We may be moving to Lake Elsinore at some point in the near future, but both DH and I are from Southern California and don't ever plan to leave.
