Emily brought home her first "real" report card for Grade 1 yesterday. She did so well, basically a straight A student already!
We have started with the outcome based learning marks in place of the grades so the report looks a little different then we're used to. There are 2 categories - Effort and Achievement with 3 marks for each.
For Effort they get either:
1. Always gives her best
2. Usually gives her best
3. More effort is required
and for Achievement they get either:
1. Highly competent
2. Competent
3. Needs attention
For Effort she got 1. Always Gives her best for every subject - Religion, Maths, Science, Health, Social Studies, Reading, Writing, Spelling, Handwriting, Oral Language,Library and Art
For Achievement she got 1. Highly Competent for everything except for Library where she got 2. Competent. (The library teacher is an old grouch who constantly tells the children that she doesn't like 1st graders b/c they're noisy and naughty :disbelief and tells Emily in each lesson that she's the best student in the class, so if she only gave her a Competent, I can only imagine what the rest of the class got!!)
She also got top marks in Personal and Social Behaviour :)
Work Habits - Consistently methodical
Work Presentation - Very good
Homework - Consistently completed
Group participation - Contributes fully/Able to lead/Good influence
Concentration - Attentive
Conduct and Courtesy - Excellent
Attitude to discipline - Accepts correction readily
Social Skills - Considers others
Punctuality - Always punctual
Teachers comment:
Emily is a polite and conscientious student. She strives to achieve a high standard in all her work. Emily is self-motivated and is happy to share her knowledge and skills with others. she has very well developed reading, writing and spelling skills. I am very pleased with Emily's progress this term.
We are SO proud!!
