I guess this is the best place to ask this. We've had our pediatrician since summer 2003, when Emily was 6 months old. Michele has a son just one week older than Emily, so we've gone through all the first time mom things, and we have an awesome rapport. She's also my age, so we just really clicked.
At Emily's 3 year check up, Michele told us that she was leaving the practice and going back to med school, but as a teacher. I am so excited for her and her family, but so bummed for us. :blue: I actually cried on the way home, and she'd teared up when telling us. She'll still be there in May when we take Molly for her two year checkup, and I'd like to give her a gift or something to say "thank you" for being there for us throughout these first years as a mom.
Example of how much I like her? She called us personally this past Tuesday to check on Molly's broken arm. She was on vacation when it happened, but got back to the office and got the ER report on Monday. We talked for about 15-20 minutes, catching up on the kids and her best friend who was our first pediatrician (until she moved out of state and we transferred to Michele, who was highly recommended initially but went into labor the day I was to meet her!).
Anyway, we'd like to get her something as a gift. What would be appropriate? Sadly, we won't be able to spend alot, maybe $25-50? Any thoughts are welcome!!
