I am announcing 2 new contests here at OUAL.


Group Journals - The starter of the 10th Group Journal with more than 20 posts (by at least 5 different people) will get a month added to their subscription term. The Readers' Journal and the Got Group threads will not be counted, as were both started by me.





Group Journals can be about any subject. Just think of something a few people might want to talk about and start it.
Things like SAHM journal, WL journals will count. In addition, there can be 1 "anything" group journal that would be sort of like a posting party.
Group Journals are restricted to those subscribed members with at least 25 posts, but do show up in the "New Posts Non Journal" searches.






The Sandbox - The 15th thread with more than 20 posts (by at least 5 different people) will get a month added to their subscription term.


At this point, the Sandbox is the best idea for what happens when we graduate from playgroups.
Threads can be targeted to a specific play/pregnancy group, or can be more general in nature.
The Sandbox is restricted to those subscribed members with at least 25 posts (just like the journals)

Ok..so say our PG wanted to stick together we would go to the sandbox not the group journals??

Well, I think it could be either, or both.

For example, I think that an "Update" thread for your groupd would make sense in The Sandbox. But, if you wanted to have one thread for Updates & Questions of the Week over time (like to be used for several months), then the Group Journals would make more sense.

I'm learning here, too. Its all about seeing what is a better fit.

Sheila - I assume that the OP of the 15th Sandbox thread will be receiving the prize - or is it the one posting the 20th post?

According to the original rules, it is the OP. But after thinking about it, there will also be a prize for the 25/20th poster.

I think what I am going to do is just put all the names of the people who started a thread that hit the correct # of posts and the ## poster and pull 4 names and declare them the winner.
