I called one of my co-workers Batty. He sat across the room from me and my good friend. He'd always ask us to turn down the volume if we were listening to something on the computer (which was part of our job). He'd also stare at us sometimes eavesdropping on our conversations. The name "Batty" evolved from my saying he had bat ears.

we have a few:

crazy van lady - one of the shuttle drivers who intentionally tries to scare any walkers around the bldg. i have actually been in her van while she does this  she loves me.

spooky van guy - another shuttle driver who decorates his van for all the major holidays. big time. things hanging from the ceiling and everything.

fsg or 'fat sandal guy' - dozens of people refer to him this way. he is very very fat and wears birkenstocks year round without socks. i was in the parking lot last year, we got like 2 feet of snow and he's out there in his sandals cleaning off his truck.

tight pants guy - nuff said. my coworker bill gets the chills just looking at him. i think they guy must not have any 'equipment' cuz he looks like a ken doll with those pants on.

there are more but i'll stop there for now.

We call our project manager "the little green man." It's hard to explain why - he just really gets on our nerves.

Kim, yours are hilarious. Crazy van lady is my favorite. I can totally imagine a shuttle driver getting a kick out of scaring pedestrians.

There's only three of us in my office (me and the two bosses) and our mechanic, Eddie. When I talk about the wife I refer to her as Mrs. Boss, Boss Lady, or on really bad days, The B***h. :blush1: Eddie is sometimes called Eddie Spaghetti or Eduardo.

My husband works with a guy they call "Fat Head."

 that is hilarious Kim.

We called my office mate psycho B&*^# because she was psycho. She went to her ar for lunch, smoked pot and slept. One day the security gaurd called to have her car towed because she parked in visitor parking and they hooked the car up before they realized she was in the car sleeping!!! She called in sick 3 times a week, owed pawn shops all over the city money for loans she took out, cussed her dad out on the phone and minutes later called him back to beg for money. I could go on, she was nuts!

 These are hilarious!

We have a LOT, but the one that pops right to my mind is "Lurch". He's this tall geeky guy who is a splitting image. The one molding guy here had nicknames for a lot of us and most of us knew about them. Lurch included. He'd even say "You Rang?"

Then of course there was "Droopy Dog". I don't know if he knew his name or not, but he always walked around looking very sad and his face was kinda droopy. :(

hmmm we really don't have any here. Well, except the entire accounting department. They are a bunch of FREAKS! We call them pigs too. They are constantly eating or bringing in food or eating or eating.

i have more. this is a big company. here in corporate we have like 7 bldgs on this street and thousands of people to make fun of:

the toast twins - a set of twin sisters who brought their own english muffins from home, yet used the cafeteria toast machine to toast them.

paris and nichole - pretty obvious there. two girls in telesales who think the workplace is a fashion show.

'death' or 'seagull' - a girl who obviously has anorexia. she used to walk around picking at leftover food. she has been spotted eating ketchup packets as well. she's pencil thin and wears heavy sweaters even in summer. she looks terrible. she's been here for years, i think she's an engineer's daughter.

At my former job, our operation got bought out by another company -- major number crunchers with little knowledge about our business. The due dilligence process was awful. We referred to the new president as Satan. He eventually found out somehow and was actually amused.

OMG, some of these are coming back to me. We had a salesperson known as Rat Fink. The corporate office was called the Mother Ship. A production coordinator at the Mother Ship was dubbed Chester after getting a boob job and running around showing all her male colleagues.

Hmn....at the second last place I worked at, the persident/chairman of the company was "grandpa" because he was going senile and was old. Then there was this guy who never washed his hands after using the bathroom. We called him "NastyMan"

I call the head of our department "Lumberg" (after the boss from the movie "Office Space") because he acts and talks just like him.

Actually there could be another reason for him looking like a Ken doll, but it's rather graphic and gruesome and people will wonder why I know something about it....

OMG ... dying here ...

Kim ~ your nicknames

Nocona ~ not sure about yours ... since i am in accounting

as for where i work ... OMG ... the guys out in the field have nicknames for EVERYONE ... the minute their Nextel's get programmed correctly ... they are re-programming them with nicknames ... i work in construction ... suffice to say ... i cannot post most of them here ...

the first one that comes to mind though is the mechanic ... we simply refer to him as ... MENSO (and seriously ... in a very loving way) ... there is another guy who's nickname loosely translates to ... ButtKisser (not in English) ... i can go out into our warehouse and ask ... "is so-and-so here?" ... and will be answered ... who? "Menso" or "ButtKisser"

and as for those Nextel's ... the mechanic *borrowed* mine one day ... the next time be alerted me ... it came up ... My Loverboy  ... he thinks he's quite the Casanova ...

One of my co-workers (or, as I prefer to think of them, cow-orkers  ) has the surname Lobb. We call him the Lobb-sta. His first name is Robert (and may I just add that I don't know why you would go by "Rob" when your surname is "Lobb"?!), so one of the other guys calls him Rock Lobbsta. My favourite trick used to be giving the water cooler a gentle shake as he went by - those bubbles sound like "Rob lobb lobb lobb" LMAO. Cracked my co-workers up too when I told them. He doesn't know any of this ;)

At my last job we had a guy that looked exactly like Beeker from the muppets and we called him "Deeter". Not exactly sure where that name came from but it fit him perfectly.

OMG these are so funny!

At my old job there was this really funny outside salesman who would call in and ask for people. Well, no every name was common, so he would make fun of them.
One of the girls' name was:
Sen Dihn and he would ask for "Send in the clowns"

another of the ladies was named
Kwai Lew and he would ask for "the heavy drugs" (like a Quaalude  )

Here at my job there is this girl we call Fragil Rock, cause on our intranet there is a picture of us posted when we start the job and she looks just like a character from that cartoon. Here is her pic :lmao:

Kim, I remember the Crazy Van Lady! She almost ran me over once!!!

There was this one trainer who had a very hairy chest, and always wore v-neck shirts. So, his nickname was Hairy.

My old boss was nicknamed Bird Dog, he used that term all the time, but we never knew what he meant.

There was one manager that we called Bi-Polar. He would be so nice one minute, then call me up screaming the next.

There are a lot more, but I can't think of them.
