DH and I have finally decided to TTC #3...I'm not sure when...now..maybe in a few months...etc.
Heres my question:
I currently see an ob/gyn about 30 min away. They also only deliver at a hospital 45 min away. I am scheduled for my yearly with them on March 20th.
I want to switch to a local dr, so I can go to a local hospital and our ped would be there as well, and make it easy on Jason and the family for appts and visits.
So should I call and get in to this other dr NOW? or go to my yearly and get that out of the way and then switch WHEN/IF I get pg?
In Nov, she gave me an RX for prenatals...I can't find it though so I'll have to call or get the OTC ones..

I would switch now. What if you see the new doctor and don't like him/her? At least you would have time to find a new one.

Well being that its in my hometown, I already know the drs there. My cousin went to one, my close friend went to the other...I know one from church, as she brings her kids for our midweek program as well. So that didn't even weigh in my mind...I would definitely switch to this practice..
ETA unless of course there was a major personality disliking LOL!

I would get your annual exam done and out of the way with your current doctor. And when you do become pregnant, switch to something closer. Although, my OBGYN is almost 50 minutes from my house and the hospital is the same distance.

I'd switch now. Having a yearly with the new doctor would allow you and your new doctor to know your healthy history and all that before the pregnancy occurs and without a rush to get your records from the old doctors, etc. I would just think it would be much less stressful to do it now

Thanks everyone...After thinking about your thoughts..I think it may be easier to get all that preliminary stuff out of the way like paperwork, history, etc...so I guess I'll look up the number and give them a call!

NO..I saw Kerpsack. He was really good. He did not however deliver Alyssa. Drake did. I will say that I saw them all. I didn't like Doty even though I like her as a person she just had a bad bed side manor to her. THere is a new one there that my mom see's and Stacy is seeing. They both love her. Stacy really loves her since she found what was wrong and Stacy is now pg. She loves every visit so far so I am thinking this new Dr. would be great!
Oh..side note..LOVED DRAKE. Didn't think I would but he was fantastic. Made me feel so comfortable. I had to see him once before baby was born just in case. He was so gentile with me. Granted I delivered Alyssa on my own but Drake helped with the after birth and it was so easy. He let me deliver it. NO kneeding my stomach or pulling. He was FANTASTIC!

I'd switch now... just so you can start fresh with the new OB and get to know him/her before you end up pregnant!
