Do your washer and dryer stack? Do you have them stacked or side by side? Mine are currently side by side and I am thinking about stacking them.

I have a front load washer and the door opens to the side the dryer is on (I have to put the wet clothes over/around the door into the dryer if that makes more sense) and because of the water pipes and dryer vent I can't switch them, but I could stack them. It would also create a bit more space, but then I can't put my laundry basket on top! Oh the dilemma!

Mine are side by side and my dryer door opens downwards. I couldn't stack them even if I wanted to because there is a window above them.

I have a stackable washer and dryer. They are stacked ATM since we only have enough space for them like that. I actually really like having them stacked because I dont have to bend over and hurt my back.

I have side by sides with a dryer door that opens down too (Whirlpool) I want a front-loading washer sooo bad, though! Can you not switch the hinge on your washer door? I knwo on some front-loaders you can...

I have a stackable Maytag set. I don't think I can un-stack them since the controls are between the washer and the dryer.

I love having them stacked.

The basket goes on the floor in front of the unit when I'd doing laundry.

Shanna, I can't change the washer door, but I did change the dryer one so now I only have to go around one door instead of two if that makes sense. I am really leaning to stacking them. I'll have to get DH to lift it up one day and see if the dryer vent is long enough too I guess, as that might affect my decision.

Ours are stacked and are the front loaders from Sears - the Kenmore set. The dryer door is reversible for a stacked configuration. Works great!

We don't currently have stackable ones, but we will soon have to purchase some. Our dryer is too close to the air-intake on the hot water heater (the building inspector did not seem to notice that :grr: ) so we have to buy stackable ones because that's the only configuration that will work.

Ours aren't stackable and my washer is top loading. DH just built me a nifty unit that lifts my dryer off the floor about a foot. It is great for my back. I'll try to come post pics.
