Some friends and I were just talking about this the other day...

So... who shot you down?

I didn't get into James Madison University, in Virginia. To say that I was bitter would be an understatement! :tantrum: I had already decided to go somewhere else and filled out all my housing forms and everything, so it's not like I was going to go to JMU even if I had gotten in, but I was very offended nonetheless!

I got accepted at UNL, UNK, UNO, Hastings College, Midlands College, CCC-Grand Island, and CCC-Hastings

I applied to a lot of schools

I got wait listed at Notre Dame. This is still a bone of contention with my dad, since he desperately wanted me to go there. He even called, and they told him all I needed to do was call and tell them I still wanted to go, and I was almost assured a spot, but I refused. (I was 17... what did they expect? )

I got rejected from Haverford or Swarthmore... I can't remember which one I applied to. Other than that, I think I was accepted everywhere I applied. (it was a long list, but I can't remember what was on it)

I only applied to 4 places, and I got accepted at all of them (UC Santa Barbara, UC Santa Cruz, UC Davis, UC Irvine). I didn't bother applying at Berkeley or San Diego, because I didn't want to risk the rejection.

Georgetown and Duke gave me the heave ho. Although by the time I applied to Duke, I had already been accepted early to BC, so I kind of didn't care when I wrote that application. I was so sick of filling out applications by that point!

I got into BC, Villanova and Washington University in St. Louis.

I only applied to two schools. My first choice was CCSU because we could pay for it and I would graduate debt free, I was a little worried though because I had a HORRENDOUS freshman year of high school and almost had to stay back so I applied to a local two year college and I would have ended up transfering those credits over to CCSU after a year.

I got in everywhere I wanted (Hofstra, UMCP, a woman's college in Georgia or someplace that I can't remember the name of), and another school that I can't remember at all. My problem was the money.

I also got into every school I applied to: IU, Purdue, Ball State and Indiana State. I only applied to Purdue because my best friend was hoping to go there, and we both ended up going to IU's community campus in our hometown!

I got accepted everywhere I applied. MTU (Michigan Technological University), WMU (Western Michigan University, where I went the first year), CMU (central Michigan University) SVSU (saginaw valley state university), MSU (Michigan State University), and UofM (University of Michigan). I then applied to GLCC(great lakes christian college) the next year and also got in...but I think everyone who applies gets in there...perhaps not if you had bad character recomendations...definitely grades/test scores don't matter. I finished school at GLCC with a dual enrollment at Spring Arbor.

I was rejected by Duke, UNC-Chapel Hill (I was out of state, it is extremely competitive for out-of-state students), University of Georgia, and Cornell. I was accepted to UConn (safety) and Virginia Tech, which is where I ultimately ended up. :)

Every school I applied to, I was accepted. I did not go to two of those schools: University of Maryland at College Park and Art Institute of Pittsburgh. The Art Institute was a matter of money.... U of M was where I told most of my family I was going, until I had a game plan for moving to Washington State University. My Mom was just going to be a PITA if she knew for months that I would be moving across the country... it was better to just spring it on her after I knew all the details.

I got accepted at all the schools I applied to but didn't apply anywhere I didn't think I had a good chance of getting in. :blush1:

I applied to all UC schools, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Davis, and Berkeley. I ended up at UC Santa Barbara for 1 year.

I got in everywhere that I applied. For undergrad, I knew that I only wanted to go to Ithaca College. For grad school, I applied to James Madison University (where I went), Old Dominion U, East Carolina U and U of New Orleans.

I only applied to one college while in high school, because it's located right here in the same city I live in, and I really had no desire to move out of town or state; I wasn't ready to adjust to college life AND being far away from home. I was easily accepted to Texas Tech, but quite frankly, the standards aren't that high. I also applied to the University of Texas after I moved to Austin to be with my (not yet) DH, and I was accepted there, as well. So, I've only applied to two places, and got accepted to both. Thank goodness, because I don't think I could have handled the rejection. :rotflmao:

Sketcher-I was waitlisted by Rice!!! Turns out my future DH was waitlisted there too and we both ended up going to a totally different small school!!! (guess it was meant to be ;) )

I was accepted at Bryn Mawr, University of Rochester (what was I thinking-it is cold there!), Trinity in San Antonio, and UT-Dallas (my back up). I went to Washington and Lee University.

I didn't get any rejection letters for undergrad, but was wait listed at Hamilton, Skidmore, and Middlebury. I was devestated at the time (I really wanted to go to a small liberal arts school) but everything worked out for a reason and I loved the university I got into (had been my reach school! my guidance counselor told me I would never get in) I received a big fat rejection from Harvard for grad school and was wait listed at Columbia.

I applied to Purdue, Ohio State and Miami of Ohio. I got accepted at all three and ended up going to Purdue.

After my second year at Purdue, I moved to Virginia with my boyfriend and applied at James Madison University - where I got in and finished my accounting degree.

I applied early and got wait listed at St. Mary's College in Maryland. I don't remember why I wanted to go there actually. Anyway, I got accepted at another school (my second choice) and decided to go there. A few weeks later, I got a big fat envelope from St. Mary's and I threw it away without opening it. Looked like an acceptance letter, but since I'd already decided to enroll at the other school, it didn't matter if St. Mary's accepted me or not. This was the single best decision I've ever made in my life...I ended up loving my college so much that I work there now and am in grad school there (the only grad school I applied to).

I got into every school I applied to (University of Vermont, St. Michael's College, Providence College, Stonehill College, University of Massachusetts and Boston College). I was wait-listed at Boston College, but ultimately got in. I had already decided to go to UVM though, so I said thanks but no thanks. There was a time while I was still in college that I regretted that, but in hindsight it was the best decision for me...

Hey gulp!-I also got into BC, Villanova, and Wash U, and was rejected by Georgetown (didn't try Duke). When I went to BC, it seemed like everyone there was also rejected by Georgetown, so I was in good company! I also got in at Vanderbilt (hometown safety school) and University of Chicago, and dissed by Northwestern and Tufts. Can you tell I had it in my head to go to a school in a big city?

I only applied to the school in my hometown. I didnt really want to go there but I ended up graduating early from high school and didnt have time to apply anywhere else. (I went to the University of TX at Arlington.) I went there for about 2 years total and am just now finishing my degree online.
