How do Subscriptions Work?

I know I should know this after many years on the boards, but what does it mean when people say they "subscribed" to a thread? :confused: Does that mean you get an e-mail every time someone posts in that thread? I usually just surf around the boards but it would be nice to be able to keep up with journals in a more organized way. I don' t want to get 500 emails a day though.

I subscribe without email notification--that way when I go to my subscribed threads list, all the journals I visit are listed there.

Oh, and you have to use the regular reply feature, not quick reply, to subscribe.

actually you do not even need to reply to a thread to subscribe to it (it makes stalking oh so much easier :lol: ).

at the top of every thread is a 'thread tools' dropdown where you can subscribe :)

why can't I get into the Journals yet ? I subscribed today and I even have 11 posts .
