I've been asking people this for the last few years and have yet to get a definitive answer. When we look back at this decade, what will we call it? The zeros? The aughts? I'm interested to hear what kind of ideas you all can come up with.

I think technically it's supposed to be the aughts, but I just hate the way that sounds. I like "the O's"

I think technically it's supposed to be the aughts.I was thinking the same thing. That definitely makes me think 1900's.

I don't know but it's funny you brought this up b/c I was just thinking about this the other day. You would think tht now that we're in the fourth year of the decade something would have caught on by now.

We've been calling it the 2000's around here. Seems to work fine. I guess the next decade will be the 2010's. It sounds a lot better than the aughts. What I wonder is if they will call the next decades the twenties, the sixties, the 80s. I mean I guess by the time they come around the 1960's and 1980's might be more forgotten, but to me when I hear sixties I think of 1960's.

We've been calling it the 2000s, also, but it all sounds a little funny to my ears.

I have never heard this term? :scratch:Have you ever seen the Music Man? They use the term in there. He supposedly graduated from some university in 'aught 5.' I think it was commonly used back in the early 1900's.

By the time the 2060s come around I don't think that will be an issue.

So far, the best ones I've seen around (in my opinion) are "The Oh-Ohs" and "The Naughties" I think having 2 toddlers during this decaude make both seem even more relevant!

You know, I never thought much about it. I dont' recall seing "aught" used, that's intresting. I usually just use the whole year, not thinking much about the decade.
