Ok something weird is going on with me , I was suppose to get my AF yesterday but today before I left work I checked my CM and it was eggwhite because I could stretch it between my fingers so what does this mean ? I have never had this happen before and my temp. has dropped for the past 2 days now .

I'm here but ya better not be dissin' my 10-0 Colts!! :awink:
Tabitha - Not sure what the CM means but I don't like the direction your temps are going. However, it could be implantation dip so who knows. Once we have a couple of charts we can compare them. Hopefully, this will be your only one!
Scott- I am not familiar with the fertility monitor so maybe someone else can answer this but I know for me and others who have mentioned it that the OPKs didn't work. Do OPKs and the fertility monitor work the same way? Could it be that it just doesn't work for your wife? I would hate for that to be the case and then you don't BD in the right window waiting for it to give you a high reading. Just something to chew on.
I have just been busy at work. I had to take instant email notification off of all of my threads because every time I would get one I would pop over here and post on the boards instead of working. My workload isn't really allowing that right now!
I hope that all of you newbies aren't here for very long!

I have period like symptoms , backache , headache , cramps , bloating . I guess we will see . I was just testing my BBT right now just to see what it read and it said 98.43 . I know it really doesn't mean anything this time of day but I just wanted to check anyway just to see what it had to say .

well since i'm using the FM...
You start it on the day one of ur cycle. and around day 6 it asks you for a test so you pee on a stick and put it in the machine and 5 minutes later it tells you your level. lo high or peak.
it tests for estrogen and checks for a rise in it and a rise in Luteinizing hormone. When is sees them start to rise it will show a high reading.
when it seems a big jump in the luteinizing hormone it will show peak and you will probably O with in 12-48 hours after that. the "supposed" advantage to the Monitor is that is gets to know your cycle and your levels as you use it. whereas the OPK are just pay as you go.
The stuff i read about the monitor seemed great. but we are kinda waiting to see if it works for us. So far hasn't really done anything, but neither have her temps.
http://www.epinions.com/well-Supplies-Home_Diagnostics-Fertility-All this is a good site to read peoples reviews on stuff. Lots of good feedback about the FM but it is pricey.

Catching up from the last thread!
EVA!!! Well, I hate that. I was watching your journal and hoping you would get the :bfp: Well, hopefully your stay here is short!
Scott, if it helps, when I conceived my DD, I O'ed on day 18. Had 28 day cycles on the dot. So, later O does occur.
Not sure if that is what is happening this time around or not. But, this month we are trying the every other day technique and BD day 13, 15 and 17.

;) I dont think Erica is on CD 115
Lynn- you are correct. If I was and not pregnant there would be issues.
Wow! It's been a busy day in here.
Let's see, I think that I am quite fertile. Signs actually showed up yesterday but I spent the night at my sisters and didn't get to :sex: , so we'll try tonight and see what happens. I think last night was the first night all week that we didn't BD so I'm hoping that Sat did the trick or we'll catch it today.

Hey, I am not on CD 44 either! I think it is CD 17. Since I hurt my back last week we didn't get any bding in. :dunno: Maybe tonight? I AM feeling better.

November 21st, 2005, 10:00 PM
Scott: I think saving up your sperm won't really make a difference, even though you are getting a L reading I would still BD tonight (if you already have not done so) and then every 2nd day from then on, being sperm can live up to 5 days, you do NOT have to BD on day of ovulation for it to work... I also O'd late on all 3 of my pregnancies, CD18 for my first CD21 for my 2nd...(don't know with my 3rd cause I wasn't temping but I presume it was late like the others)... and I know for a FACT we did not BD the day I o'd when I got pregnant with my first because I was on clomid and knew through tests what day I O'd and we didn't BD that day we BD the day before...
SO after saying all that I am all for you starting now, and doing it every 2nd day till you go away, to cover all your bases!... Also just to add something else I think i remember reading that the sperm replenish themselves every 48 hours so if they are not used they reabsorb themselves so saving them up doesn't really do anything... SO BD and BD NOW!!
And to also add about the short LP, I also used progesterone cream in the last 2 weeks of my cycle (you can't use it pre-O)... you can buy it from health shops (I couldn't buy it here in Australia but a friend from America bought it for me and sent it to me)... that helps lengthen the LP... well it did the trick for me anyway the first month I used it, was the month I got pregant!
Good luck!
Nadine: thanks for posting that info, I had no idea that happened, and now it makes sense to me... how fascinating.. (not something I personally could do though :awink: )

Scott, just wanted to let you know that I had a really short luteal phase and found taking B6 really helped - in addition to prenatals. I took 50mg per day throughout my cycle, later building up to 100 per day. I also found it was quite helpful with PMS (not that I get pms of course:lol2: ), and apparently it's quite good for mild morning sickness after you get pregnant too!

Lynn
November 22nd, 2005, 07:53 AM
Jolie- I don't get PMS either   And I didn't know b6 helped with m/s! That's great news (if and when) I get pregnant, because I had horrible m/s for weeks and weeks. I would have eaten liver and onions if it would have made it go away.
Scott - THanks for the OPK/FM answers. Who knew it was all so technical?
Alyson - I just got my copy of TCOYF from the library too. Made for some interesting reading!
We DTD last night and I got a nice high temp jump this morning so I guess I'm nearing O. :crossfing: that this isn't an anovulatory cycle. TG for Thanksgiving and other holiday stuff coming up. It at least will take my mind off of this for a bit.

Wow. That is quite a list there ladies...I think maybe we need to start letting some people go....whadda ya think?...Whose it gonna be? I think we need a couple lucky ladies to move on.
As for me/DW...well....she ended up getting in a bit of a tiff with some of her fam on the phone and thus...the mood was a bit lost... and we did not get any BDing in...I will be playing in a Turkey Bowl this evening so and hope to save enough stamina to get the job done when i return home.
Its sorta frustrating that i haven't seen any signs of the O yet. But then on the opposite side its sorta comforting, that we have been way off on our attempts in the past. I talked to DW about the Luteal Phase deal last night. Judging by last months temps do you ladies think i should have her get some B6 now. Or just wait and see. I think the plan is to BD every or every other night for the next 5-6...(till i head to Indy to beat Jennies Colts...lol)
schwanda
November 22nd, 2005, 10:27 AM
I don't think it would hurt to have her start B6 now. It's just a vitamin afterall! Hope she O's soon!!! (Are you a football player???) Will your wife come to Indy with you?
I never had much luck with OPKs but without medication I usually had anovulatory cycles anyway. Lots of people have had great success with them!

Good afternoon...:wavey:
I am new to this forum. I have been watching quietly from the sidelines and decided to join. After 12 months of unsuccessfully trying to conceive...i just need to be around people going through the same thing and to get some positive reinforcement!
I am on DPO 3 of cycle 13 of ttc. This month my husband had a really bad case of the flu...soooo the last time we did the BD was 2 1/2 days before ovulation. I don't believe that our chances are very good this month but you never know. It would be grand because his birthday is Dec. 12th. What a great b-day gift! He will be 40 this year and wants to be a father more than anything!

Welcome Dacia!
My name's Amanda (34) and I'm a recent graduate of this forum. I like to check back and cheer everyone else on!!! (I lurk more than post but I do check in regularly!)
My husband is Tom (36). He lives in Westchester County, NY and I'm in Baltimore during the week. It's a little hectic! We have a 21 month old son, Nathaniel, who is the product of 2.5 years of infertility treatments and finally IVF. I'm currently pregnant with a daughter (to be named Jessica) after doing more fertility treatments (injectible fertility medications with IUI). She's due in February, 3 days before Nathaniel turns 2!
I hope you find this place to be as supportive as I did!!!

Hi Dacia!
Welcome to this lovely and crazy bunch.
First of all - asking us all for a little intro information was a great idea. Even though I have been on OUAL for almost 2 years, I don't know all the people in this forum that well yet.
I am Nadine (32), married to Yehuda (34). We live in Israel and have to amazing kids - Benjamin AKA Yumi (7) and Shoham (girl, 3). We wanted to TTC over a year ago but pushed it off because Yumi has ADHD and was going through a very rought time at school. Now that things have calmed down, we are back on track. This is our second month of trying.
I have to go to the pharmacy to buy suppositories today and I am tempted to buy POAS tests... I managed to "waste" all 4 I bought last time. Should I or shouldn't I? LOL...
BTW - how much does a PG test cost where you all live and which test is the most reliable?
Tab

We can get them for $1.00 at the $ Tree and they are very effective !!!!

Welcome Dacia! I am also a graduate and cheerleader of the group! I am 29 years old and hubby, Mark, is 31. We have a daughter, Emma, who turned three in August and is growing up so fast all of the sudden. We live in Indiana. It took us 14 months and 4 rounds of clomid to conceive this baby. We also had an ectopic in March which required surgery. I was lucky enough to conceive on my second round of post-surgery clomid. We were pretty lucky as I am sure I ovulated out of my left ovary and that is the tube that I lost.
Good Luck with your TTC journey and hopefully you can join the pregnancy group very soon!

I forgot to add in my bio, that in addition to TTC for 2+ years, I've also been on 4 rounds of clomid, had an HSG, some other uncomfortable test and have been on 2 kinds of progesterone, 2 thyroid medications and metformin. I'm being seen by an RE now so I also had to have a vaginal u/s.

Welcome Dacia! Glad you decided to hop in! I'm impressed, you have a profile pic up and everything. I like being able to see who I am "talking" to! This is the best place to come and vent, ask questions, and hopefully, celebrate. I don't talk about this stuff to anyone IRL, so this place is a godsend.
I'm Sandy and DH is Tommy. I'll be 36 in January. DH is 33. I'm Canadian, but we live in Mississippi. We have one gorgeous daughter, Rayna. She just turned two. We TTC for 9 months, got pregnant, M/C, then got pregnant the same month as the M/C w/ Rayna. Carried her to term and she was born exactly on her due date. We have been TTC since she turned one, so a solid year now. I have been temping for the past few months to get an idea about my cycles. We did get pregnant in Feb., but I had a second M/C at 8 weeks. Now that it has been a year, I just went to my OB last week. If we have no luck this cycle, I am going to get an HSG done in Dec. If still no luck, we are starting clomid in January.
Scott, THANK you for sharing that info from the guys perspective. I really do try to not bring the timing thing up. Sometimes, I have gone WAY beyond the call of duty to ensure BD, if you know what I mean. A few times here lately, I have had to tell him that we had to - b/c neither of us really felt like it. Our BD fest will start this weekend and go to mid next week, so I will try and keep it on the down low as much as possible.
Wow Alyson, I am clueless?????
Ouch Lynn, that sucks. Hopefully the meds will kick in quickly!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! :turkey:
Scott - that is good to know that guys don't want to know that we have to BD. I've been trying to not tell Eric and just attack him when the time is right, but last week he asked if I was fertile yet. I figure if he asks I'll tell him and if not I'll just attack him.
Lynn - I hope you rUTI clears up real quick.
Well, I was feeling kind of crampy last night, maybe they were O pains so we BD and we'll just wait and see.

Welcome, Dacia :rahrah: :welcome: ! See, Sandy, i'm even later than you to the party :) Like some others, I lurk here more than I post, but I like to come here and encourage everybody when I can, I vividly remember our TTC journey and know how frustrating it can be..
My name is Lena, I'm 29, DH is Damon, also 29. I'm Russian (grew up there), and my whole family is in Russia, but we live here, in IL. Holidays make me miss my family something terrible.... We are expecting our 1st baby-a boy-in a little more than 2 weeks (or sooner, if he listens to mommy). It took us about 5 months to conceive Nikita, and even then I was getting pretty frustrated and wondering why it was taking so long, so I totally think that those ladies who have been trying for much longer than that are so brave to find encouragement and needed strength to keep going! I think you will find a lot of support and understanding here:nod: ...and I hope your TTC journey here is a short one! Good luck!

Hey ladies.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Well i have no idea what is going on. We still don't have any decent shift in Temp. She is still low on the Fertility Monitor. And its already CD20. i can't figure out what the heck is going on. But i'm gettin a little worried and/or frustrated.
I was really hoping to at least get a good crack at catchin the egg this month, but I not even getting the chance...:(
It will be my luck when i leave on sunday she will O on Tuesday and I'll be gone on Monday and Sunday.
Anyone have any crazy cycles? She is normally rather regular. For the first 4 monthes off of BC she was 28 days everytime. Then a few 30 and 33 but nothing like what this could be setting up for.
Anovulatory cycles usually show OPK of positive and negative in a row...but we got none of that. Sooo i'm just hoping it is a really late O. she has been real stressed out since Monday with her side of the fam...maybe that is it?
Just frustrated today...sick of waiting for that O...but let the BDing continue...
~Andrea~

I NEVER got a positive on any OPK and I've had mostly annovulatory cycles.

I'm also late to the party. I'm 27, DH is 26. We live in Southern California and are TTC #1. We have 3 furbabies; 2 dogs and a cat. I went off BCP in March and have been TTC since May, so 7 cycles all together. Right now it looks like I may be moving on to cycle #8. I chart on FF and am on the 2nd cycle using the Clear Blue Easy Fertility monitor. Hopefully we'll all be able to graduate to the pregnancy board soon!!

I am here, I am 32 and dh is 39. We have 1 dd, who will be 3 in Jan. (how did that happen so quickly? ) We have been OTL for a while and are now TTC, even though I don't want to be pg during the summer in AZ but I figure we may as well go for it since it could take a while! I just got the TCOYF book last week and have read most of it. (finally this thread makes a lot more sense to me! ) #1 just happened for us, we were not TTC so we don't know much about it but that book has helped.

Scott: I never got a + on an OPK and I had both ovulartory and annovulatory cycles so I don't hold OPK's in high regard really.
Maybe it is the stress she is under, maybe you need to wine and dine her to help her unwind!! :awink:

Quiet in here this weekend! Is everyone (US at least) still in a turkey coma?
FF gave me an earlier O date than they originally predicted. This is good news because we BDd around that time AND because it was before my UTI. So we'll find out soon enough I guess :)

Lynn, that is great!!!! Good luck!
Our festival has begun. I am going w/ the every other day thing and hope it works out that way. We covered our bases on Friday, so we are on tap again tonight. Trying to keep it on the down low, per Scott's advice. While that may make it easier on the guy, seems to make it harder on me. Wish us luck!

Good morning everyone! And a late but Happy Thanksgiving! We have been traveling and are finally back home... I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday.
I obviously had alot to catch up on. It was great to read about everyone! There are more active people in here than I thought!
Well I knew my chances for conceiving this month were slim but I still can't help but to get disappointed. Since DPO 1 my temps have been climbing about .1 a day...(getting up to 98.2). Yesterday (DPO 8) my temp dropped to 97.8 and today it dropped again to 97.7 (DPO 9). I am sad :( I am quietly hoping that it is normal to dip...but most likely I am getting AF soon. I was cramping the last two days and my back hurts. My chart looks great though...it would be fun to look back and say...this was the one. I tested this morning of course...(because I have no self control!) And it was negative. I am due to get AF the 4th of Dec.
JennyB
November 28th, 2005, 10:44 AM

Scott, I hope egg-catching was a success!!!! I'm sure Colts would understand your choice of victories LOL
Lynn, your chart looks great!! :crossfing
Dacia, testing on DPO9 is a little too soon, your BFN could have been a false one.....do don't get discouraged yet....though I TOTALLY understand what it's like to want to test 10 times a day instead of psyching yourself to wait till some magic date of the charting calendar!! I know we just inflict unnnecessary self-pain when we test too early, but who are we kidding? We just can't help it!!!

November 29th, 2005, 06:26 AM
I haven't posted here in a while and lots of new faces while I've been gone!
My name is Lizzie and I am also a recent graduate of the group and pop back to see how everyone is doing. Me and my dh are 34 and we live in London and this is baby #1. I found it really useful coming here, especially dealing with the angst of the 2 week wait!
I used OPKs and loved them. (But I know they don't work for everyone.) I used them twice a day from cd8 onwards so I didn't miss a surge.

Dacia - the earliest you will be able to get a BFP is 3 days before AF is due. So don't test again before Dec 1-2. I know the urge is huge... I did it myself last month. It is just a waste of money and strains your nerves...
I hope, wish and pray that we will all get BFPs soon. What a great Christmas/Chanuka present THAT would be...

Dacia, I am an early tester as well. There should be an alarm on the box or something so we aren't so tempted  Here's hoping that lucky 13 is the cycle and you were just too early. :crossfing:
BTW, how do you pronounce your name?
My temp is still climbing and AF is expected tomorrow through Friday.
Sandy
November 29th, 2005, 08:37 AM
STay away from Lynn and Dacia you ole witch!!!!
I have been trying to temp this month, but don't know how reliable it is. My little one has decided to start climbing out of her crib this week, so we have had a lot of disturbed sleep. This morning, I forgot to put my thermometer on the nightstand, so I temped standing in the bathroom. :) But, it was still low. 97.7. So, I am planning two consecutive days of exposure and hopefully we will be covered.
I was wondering who won last night. I went to bed early. Did the Colts cover the spread?

November 29th, 2005, 08:46 AM
I'm so glad I have this thread to keep up with my AF  I had to make an appointment with my RE and they needed to know what CD I was on. I had just read the stats so I knew :lol2:
Anyway, I go back to the RE next Friday for another consultation. The nurse said at this point we'll discuss the next step (clomid again, injectibles or waiting some more  ). I also need to have bloodwork on CD 35ish if AF doesn't come, which she won't. She never does
I have a feeling he is going to want me to lose some more weight before starting treatment though :( It sucks, but I'll have to take his advice. I just want to be pregnant again!!!

:hug99: Andrea. I'm sorry it's been such a long road for you. I posted this in my journal yesterday but I ran into an old friend of mine who had tried for years and years to get pregnant. She had a series of many miscarriages and then went to NJ to have IVF. When I saw her she had her 21 month old son with her. It just made me feel SO good to know that after all these years (she and her DH had been trying for 8 years) she was successful. It just gives you hope, you know?
~Andrea~
November 29th, 2005, 09:20 AM
Thanks Lynn :) I don't doubt *someday* I will have another baby, it's just the waiting. Do you know where in NJ she went? I hear my clinic is suppossed to be really good. Just wondering if it's nationally known ;)

I'm not sure where she went. She didn't give any specifics but I thought it was kind of weird that she had to go out of state for it when we have an amazing (Univ. of MI) medical center here that has a fertility center.

Good evening everyone!...
Lynn: My name is pronounced Daysha. :) Thanks for asking...
I am relieved to see I am not the only Early Tester! I just cannot help myself. It does make me feel better somehow. It keeps me from getting too hopeful again and again and again.....I did it again this morning...still a BFN :(
It is scary...I just know she is coming...I want her to get here, so I can just start charting another cycle. Maybe do things better this time...if you know what I mean. I am very lucky when it comes to the BD. My husband (unless sick...which has happened 1 time in 2 years) is up for BD 24/7! I could even wake him up in the middle of the night! :)

I *think* my bad mood yesterday was PMS related so I think AF will show up within the next few days. (OK - maybe I just don't want to get my hopes up high and then crushed again...)
BTW - I have no idea when to expect AF. She usually arrives on CD31. The past months that was around the 30th of the month. Last time AF showed up late (I spotted on the 3rd and had fuller AF starting on the 5th). So... does that mean I should not expect her arrival before the 5th this time?
Another thing: for the past months my face has been breaking out again (yeah - dear old pimples are back! YIKES!). I had none whatsoever for the past years and now I feel like a teenager again. UGH... I have at least one huge zit every few days and I hate it... Lovely hormones...

Lynn,
Don't get disappointed yet! It is normal to dip around that time. (DPO 6-10) Here is some good reading....gets me throught the hard times! One success after another Many with the dreaded 'dip'...)
http://www.tryingtoconceive.com/successindex.htm
This is a great place for any of you (who are not already familiar with it...) to go to for happy thoughts and info about what a success looks and feels like...
For me I had a dip also...I will excerpt my chart below to with my last group of temps:
DPO 1 - 97.7
DPO 2 - 97.8
DPO 3 - 97.9 (Steadily going up)
DPO 4 - 98
DPO 5 - 98
DPO 6 - 98.1 (Steadily going up)
DPO 7 - 98.2
DPO 8 - 97.8 (.4 dip)
DPO 9 - 97.7 (.5 dip)
DPO 10 - 98.1 (Going back up)
DPO 11 - 98.5 (Today temp...and still testing BFN) 4 days until AF....

Dacia- Temps are looking good so far. Do you chart on fertility friend? I am a visual person. I like to see it in chart form. Do you know what your normal LP is? (I started testing at 10 DPO too even though I only get positives on 12 DPO!) I am a POAS aholic!

Jenny,
My LP is around 15 days...I definately chart...I have an xls chart that I print out. I love to use different colors for temps and O day...etc.
What brand of HPT did you use?...I have two kinds, both very sensative...One is supposed to be 15...and the other 20. From one POAS aholic to another...I think I am going crazy this month...I tested today and got a - but I cant help but to think I am seeing a line when I look at it...I don't see it when I move it around or look too closely...I only see the line when I hold the stick out in front of me, straight on. I am going to go put up some Chritsmas lights to take my mind off of it for a while... :tear:

Dacia: I swore I saw a line for 12 months worth of tests, but then when it really was a line there was no doubt and I thought back to all those "maybe" lines I thought I saw and felt like hitting myself over the head, but I realised that it was my coping mechanism! there is only so many negatives one person can handle! :hug99: I think your temps are looking good so hang in there! :hug99:
Erica: my fingers are crossed this is it for you! and hopefully its PG hormones causing the crabiness!
Nadine: I would think with a 31 day cycle that it should appear around the 5th if that is when you started a full flow last month, BUT being it went longer the cycle before maybe even a few days after that ... fingers crossed you are pregnant instead and don't have to worry about her showing!
Lynn: sorry for the dip but I like you theory of implantation! I had huge implantation dips with my first two pregnancy charts! so its not impossible!

And for you girls who already have a kid or two how did you have your husband find out? Did he look at the results with you or surprise himin some way?
I'll tell my story since it makes me both smile and cry all the time! :)
Keith's dad had just died the week prior to me getting my BFP. On the day of the funeral I thought I had gotten AF. Fast forward to the following week when I felt weird and crampy so on a whim I decided to go and buy a test. I was due to leave for a work meeting an hour and 1/2 away so I hurried to the drug store down the street and bought an HPT (Under the guise of telling DH that I was "going to buy some stamps" ).
Came home, POAS and WHAM! BFP. I was completely shocked. DH had no clue. NONE.
I put a bun on a plate and put in in the oven and told him to come downstairs because I thought something was wrong with the oven.
Keith: "What is that?"
Lynn: "What is that?"
Keith: "A bun on a plate?"
Lynn: "WHAT?" :spit: "Honey, what IS that?"
Keith (growing increasingly impatient) : "Were you sleep walking?"
Lynn: "Honey. Stop. What is that?"
Keith: "A bun"
Lynn: "In the...."
Keith (turning around  ): "A bun in the oven? A bun in the oven? A BUN IN THE OVEN?" :ura1:
So yeah. He was a little surprised. And Aaron's middle name is John, after Keith's dad, because we firmly believe that when one life left this earth, he had a hand in bringing in another. :)

Erica, for us I took the test without DH knowing. That way, if it's negative, I can stew in silence and get comfort when I tell him. If it's positive, well then I got a surprise and can in turn surprise him.

DH was there when I tested. He told me ahead of time that he wanted to be there so he ruined the suprise plan. :( Also, HPT tests are usually a bit wierd with me. In both instances, it tested negative and the when I looked at it later there is a faint line so I had to retest anyways.

December 1st, 2005, 01:39 PM
DH didn't know. If he really knew how many sticks I peed on, he would probably freak out. It was his birthday and I wasn't going to test because I thought the cycle was a bust. I convinced myself to go ahead as it would make a good birthday present. In both instances, I have had to wake him up to tell him because I can't withhold the information. I just have to share it with someone!

Lynn, YAY for the jump in temps! I think your chart looks FABULOUS!! good luck!
Scott: I think BD the day before O is just perfect! when you think the egg only lasts 12 hours and your sperm needs time to get to it! so you doing it before hand means there would have been sperm waiting for it !!! perfect timing! my fingers are crossed this 2WW for you!
Erica: forgot to answer your other question, DH knew I was going to POAS (with our first baby) but I woke up at 5am and couldn't wait so I went and did it while he was still sleeping and when I got a line I ran and jumped on him to tell him.... 2nd baby I did it while he was at work and left it sitting on the shelf where he puts his keys and he was so shocked when he got home and found it sitting there... As for #3 well that was a shock to both of us and I did not tell him I was even suspect of being pregnant so he definately was not there or knew it was coming!

December 1st, 2005, 05:09 PM
Erica.... DH wasn't there when I tested. I was convinced that cycle was a bust, partly because the previous month AF was late, and I thought I was pg b/c I felt all kinds of symptoms (in reality, I was sick, and that was prolly why she was late)....so I was afraid to get my hopes up again.... I tested on April 1st late in the evening after we got back from hanging out with DH's sister and her kids, and I saw a VERY faint second line, and literally thought my eyes were playing a trick on me, so I closed my eyes and shook my head, opened my eyes, and the really faint line was still there.... So I ran downstairs to the basement, where DH was playing his videogames, and asked him if he could see a second line.....He said, "It's very faint, but I definitely see it". I tested again the next several days in a row, and it got brighter over time... :) I don't think I could have held out for a surprise factor-can't brag too much patience here LOL
lizziebeth
December 1st, 2005, 05:35 PM
My DH saw several of my faint line positives but he thought they didn't count as a BFP!! He really didnt believe me and thought they needed to be darker to count. So I had to go out and buy a digital to convince him!!

AF is making her way to me, I have had some spotting for the last couple days. I hate this spotting stuff, why can't I just get it over with? I am sure CD1 will be tomorrow or Sat. though. December will be a bust since I will be out of town from 14-20th and if CD 1 is tomorrow then the 13th will only be CD11 and by the time I get back I will be on CD18. :dunno: Looks like 2006 will have to be our year. :crossfing
Lynn, I love the story about how you told your dh! Very cute story.
Not very exciting but this is how we discovered I was pg. We were going to see Cirque de Soleil and I was feeling ill, and had been feeling nauseous for a week. Dh said do you think you are pregnant? I said anything is possible. The next day I was so nauseous that I begged dh to go buy a HPT for me so I would know what was wrong with me! Dh said what do I buy? I said I don't know I have never taken one! Buy an EPT, I saw the commercial for it. It was a surprise to both of us when it came back with 2 lines!

I wan to cry but I am going to start planning for next month instead. If it does not happen in December's cycle then my DH and I are mostlikely going to see medical help. At least initial testing to make sure there's nothing physically 'broken'.

Can someone tell me what Pre-Natal vitamins do for you ? I've never taken them before a pregnancy .
Tabitha, the main reason for taking Prenatals before you get pregnant is to make sure you have enough Folic Acid in your system when you conceive. I think they recommend taking them for 3 months or so before you get pg? You should shoot for 400 mg of folic acid..so you can check the vitamin box to see what they show (higher is fine....800 mg is good, and most prescription ones will have 1g).
YOu can take prescriptions ones, but you can also opt for some generic brand ones, or even just the folic acid. Once you get pg, then you can start taking prenatal vitamins. I have taken the expensive ones at first, and then some generic Target ones, since the ingredients were totally the same, and then ended up buying a huge bottle of prenatals at Sam's Club (member's mark, really cheap)....
I think the prescription ones are nice once you are pg, b/c the ones I took had some stool softener in them...not sure if that helped, but that is what I have taken the whole pgy..and I never had to buy them, either, i kept getting samples from the dr's office and then a friend who worked an an OB office got me a bunch :) I think they say the first few weeks of pregnancy are the most critical to take vitamins, while the baby is forming.
Hope this helps :)

Did you order them online? If so, I would go to their website. They probably have instructions listed on the site.

Ok Girls and Guys here's a question for ya ????
I posted this in another thread but no responses yet so I decided to ask you guys specifically .. Ok you guys know we are TTC already but here it is ......
We're TTC , is it safe to use the H/M chair during and up leading time to your O day ? Do you think it will kill off the sperm inside of me if I'm using the chair ? I know the paper work that came with it says 8 months pregnant your not suppose to use it but while I was relaxing in H/M chair tonight since we just got it I got to thinking could this harm the spermies ?
Nadine
December 7th, 2005, 02:08 AM
Thanks for all the warm congratulations!
Yes, it was fast. I think cycle #2 is our lucky one. I have conceived my 2 big ones in cycle 2 as well. (I guess I am too freaked out in cycle 1).
ITA with Scott - this comes in waves! I hope all of you will join me in the PG group!!!
MrsPeacefrog
December 7th, 2005, 04:16 AM
How exactly can it harm the spermies??? are eyou worried because it vibrates? if movement hurt sperm then we would have to keep completely still every time we tried to get pregnant! I am not expert but I doubt it can cause any trouble!
Tab
December 7th, 2005, 04:52 AM
Yes vibrating really deeply ? I was just concerned since we've been trying for over a year and a half and I didn't want to risk my chance . . I know I am overly paranoid
MrsPeacefrog
December 7th, 2005, 05:09 AM
No I understand being overly paranoid! we tried for along time for our first too and if someone told me standing on my head and drinking purple polka dot puree snails I would have done it!!!
But I doubt vibrating can effect sperm, especially being woman jog, jump, walk, climb, carry, vaccuum etc etc not to mention having sex now that is inner vibration isn't it!! so I would highly doubt it can effect it... But if someone has actual facts on this to prove me wrong please come forward, but I am guessing you will be fine!
Lynn
December 7th, 2005, 08:23 AM
I think more the heat than the vibration is the worrisome part. Heck, the vibration may help carry the spermies further
Kind of off topic, but DH's coworker is going through fertility treatments and his doctor told he and his wife that they couldn't shake too much. How can you NOT shake or move too much during :boink: We all got a chuckle out of that.

Uggh I am soo sick of my wacky cycle!! I can't get into the dr until after the first of the year... I had some spotting yesterday, yet again! And then... all week I've totally had the same 'morning sickness with Brookelyn' feeling from when I was pg with her... 24 hr sickness, just not actually :puke:Soo I decided since my cycle has been so crazy that maybe I'd test.. just 'in case'...
So now I'm bummed...cause it was :bfn: :( Oh well.... it'll happen eventually I guess!
Lynn

See Eva? FF likes to mess with us. Either that or they want us to get through the 2WW a lot faster by giving you a couple of days where you had no clue
Alyson - wow, you can't get into the doctor until after the new year? That is crazy!
Alyson
December 7th, 2005, 01:10 PM
Yeah, the town I live in isn't huge and there's only a few GOOD OB's and mine happens to be the best one!..luckily! I could see his partner doctor but I'd just rather not.. or I could go to our primary, but the way my cycles have been and the wacky crap that's been going on just makes me want to wait the extra couple of weeks to talk to my OB since he 'knows' me... So.. that's why. I mean, I could just go to anyone, but I'm afraid I'd get freaked out by something they told me or I don't know.. lol I've always had dr's and stuck with them for years and years, so once I find one.. I hate to go to anyone else. I don't know Maybe I'm just a weirdo!
Lynn
December 7th, 2005, 01:14 PM
You're definitely not a weirdo! When we moved back here to MI I was doing a happy dance that I could go back to my old doctor. Whatever the reason, I hope you find out what's going on with the spotting! Are you recently off BCP or anything?

December 7th, 2005, 01:51 PM
Wow looks like there is a whole new group in here. We are still trying. Have been for 1 year and 6 months. I had my hsg test done yesterday and my one tube is all clear. I will be going in for a consult on Dec. 20th to discuss next steps. Right now I am CD9. I may start temping again just for shits and grins. It can't hurt right???
Sandy
December 7th, 2005, 02:48 PM
Can't hurt at all! I guess I didn't realize you only had one tube? That is great that there is no blockage. So, how was the test? How much did it hurt? If we have no luck this cycle, I will be going for one myself in the next week or so.
Eva, I hate that your cycle is being wacky. I am glad FF was able to put an O date down.
Not weird at all Alyson. I wonder what is up w/ that spotting?

The test wasn't bad at all. A little cramping and a bit uncomfortable. I have actually had worse AF cramps. The lay you on an xray table and insert a catheder into your uterine cavity. The catheder has a balloon on the end to "plug" the cervix so the dye doesn't flow back out the vagina. They push the dye in and it goes thru and hopefully flows out your tube(s). They take 3-4 xrays and you are done. The whole thing from them cleaning until you get up takes about 10 minutes. IMO if you have been in labor it's a walk in the park. Keep in mind that you need to call to make the appointment the first day AF arrives. They will make the appointment within 10 days. Good luck. Hopefully you will get your :bfp: and won't have to deal with it!

Cool. Thanks, I hope so as well! You know, they say that after getting that test done, some people get pregnant right away. There was a girl on the boards that happened to....I can't think of her name right off hand. So! That means you can try try try this month!!!!
