I'm planning a small party for Ellie's birthday with like 5-6 of her friends, all are around her age (4 years). I really don't want to serve a full meal, like lunch or dinner. What time do you think I should have the party? I was thinking either 10 am to noon or 2-4 pm.
Please help! :help2:

I'd rather be invited to a party that was 2-4.

Does she nap at all?
If you want to totally avoid food, I'd do the 2-4 time. That way it's obvious that you're not serving lunch or dinner. Some people might think that you'll serve an early lunch if you do 10-12. :dunno:

I'd go with 2-4pm. So post lunch, pre dinner.

I'd rather go to one at 10-12 because Joe still naps til 2:30 or 3. But I agree with Mandi, I'd be expecting some kind of lunch at a party from 10-12. You can do something simple though. For Joe's party, we just did sandwich stuff and some fruit. Most of the adults didn't eat anyway.

I would say 2-4. But that also depends on the kids you invite - or rather if their parents are working.

You might also include something like "cake, ice-cream, and snacks will be served" so guests understand that a full meal will not be served.
It seems around here that people get accustomed to having a full spread that even when it's not meal time, they often come hungry.

My vote is also for 2-4 for the reasons everyone has already mentioned.

if you had it 10-12, i would assume lunch would be served. i would do 2-4. like jen posted, you may even want to include mention of cake and light snacks. we do dinner at our parties, so i always make mention that dinner will be served.

10-12 I'd think there would be lunch but I'd also think it was fine if you put "cake and ice cream".
I'd do 2-4 if you're sure there's no nappers on her guest list.

2-4, w/ some mention of snacks being served. 10-12 I would assume that lunch is being served.
