When do you shower?

This is a silly question, but now that Jackson's nap time is starting later in the morning I'm having a hard time finding the right time to shower. I used to just do it when he went down for his morning nap (which used to be around 9 or so), but now he's going down at 11am and I'm feeling like a slug not showering until then. He doesn't like it when I shower when he's up and he gets into everything in the bathroom if I do. I'm wondering if I'm going to have to start getting up earlier than he does just to get it done. :eek:

So, what is your system? When do you squeeze in that little bit of self-grooming time?

I usually shower before she gets up, or during her nap. If she doesn't take a nap sometimes I have her shower with me, or wait until DH gets home, which really sucks!

around 9-10 am. usually i will just leave the bathroom door open and let him rummage thru the linen closet. back when he was 16 mo old, he would FREAK if i showered when he was awake. so i would usually put him in his high chair, turn on noggin, give him something to drink, and give him something to play with...like crayons, stickers, or whatever.

I do it in the evenings. Caroline doesn't mind if I shower, but she REALLY hates when I dry my hair (abject hairdryer fear), so I can't do that part while she's awake but I can't go out with wild hair either!

Paul takes him in the shower with him every day. He's content to sit on the bed and watch TV with a bowl of goldfish too, though.

I usually put Trey in his highchair with a sippy cup and turn on Noggin :lol: Otherwise I let him play in the bathroom while I shower

I shower as soon as I get up, which is when Emily starts chattering over the monitor. I'm lucky, because she'll entertain herself in her crib for 20-30 minutes or more in the mornings, sometimes even puts herself back to sleep! It's great...I can get up and shower/dress, feed the dog, check email and grab some OJ before she really gets noisy.

Either when he is asleep for his morning nap (and when I am not napping with him for that morning one) or after that morning nap I'll put him in his bouncy seat while I shower. Some days I don't get a shower!

I used to put Alex in her bouncy seat. But about 4-5 months ago she started trying to climb out. YIKES! So now, I shut all of the hall doors, baby gate the stairs, leave the bathroom door open and shower with her playing in the bathroom and hall. We have locks on all of the doors and drawers and the toliet. She usually does really well, but almost always ends up poking her head in the shower to see what I am doing. :lol: We both towel off afterwards.

I usually try to shower when the Wiggles are on...around 10am. I just put him in his highchair and he is fine.

I don't really have a set schedule when it comes to showering, some days, like today I don't get one. I prefer to shower when he is sleeping, usually in the afternoon though. If we are going somewhere and I have to be showered and dressed in the morning. I will usually shower before DH leaves for work. If he is awake and I have to shower I put him in the bouncy seat and bring it in the bathroom with me, or I'll drag his swing into our bedroom and shower with the door open (we have a bathroom in our master bedroom).

I really don't have a set schedule when I shower either. Some days I'll take one in the morn. Her nap isn't until around 12:30 pm, so sometimes she'll take one with me (she LOVES the shower). There are other times I take one in the evening when James is home, then he'll give Lexie her bath. :)

Usually I shower in the evening after the girls have their bath. So they get their jammies on and have bottles and play in the bathroom while I quickly shower. The bottle is the key there to a peaceful shower (well, as peaceful as it can be!).

On days that I work if I didn't get a shower in the night before I shower in the morning before the girls get up.

This is what I try to do as well. Usually Rick showers than I do. Dylan loves to hang out with daddy in the AM so it works out fine.

I shower whenever I can. Tyler is usually content playing the bathroom while I shower. We have glass all around our shower so Tyler loves to come up and give my kisses through the glass! :lol:

Today, I showered at around 10:00, with a hysterical toddler, shrieking at the top of her lungs because I insisted on shutting the shower curtain. :tearhair: Usually, though, I shower while she watches Elmo. Somehow, Elmo didn't do the trick this morning, though...

Usually I let Parker watch Baby Mozart and he comes into the bathroom with me while I shower.

I either shower before Josh leaves for work, or bring her in the bathroom with me sometime during the morning while I take a shower.

Most days I shower in the morning while Emma is still asleep. If she gets up and starts howling while I'm in there, DH will go get her. She plays up in our bedroom (we usually have Playhouse Disney on too) while I get ready (blowdry hair, get dressed, etc.) and DH gets showered.

It will be interesting to see if this changes when we add another kid to the mix.

In the mornings, we eat our breakfast, then I do my physical therapy exercises while he crawls around beside me, then depending he either takes a nap, and I get dressed then, or I just take him in my room with me and I talk while he crawls around the room checking things out, and I get dressed then. Most of the time, he's usually napping while I get dressed in the mornings....

I usually shower while Emma is napping. I love taking a bath in the evenings after she is in bed.

I work at home but have to take my son to school each morning and my daughter to a sitter part-time each day, so I shower around 6:30-7:00 every morning. We have a pretty good routine going. :)

Usually in early or late afternoon. He likes to play in the bathroom so I just bring his toys in the bathroom and he plays on the floor. Somedays if things are hectic though I wait and take one after DH gets home so that I can actually have some peace!!

Depends on the day..If I have school I am up before 6 so I take a shower and she is still in bed. On my off days I usually bring her in the shower with me..DH thinks I am crazy but we have fun. Alyssa is a very small 26 mo. old and she still sits in a bath seat. So I stick her in there while I shower and then fill the tub up and we have a bath..I have tons of toys in the back of the tub for her to play with so she is fine.

So far, Sam almost always goes down for a nap between 9 and 9:30, so I jump in the shower then.

I shower first thing in the morning usually between 7-8 am. Logan is usually lying in our bed watching cartoons or in the bathroom with me playing with a toy. He always waits for me to be done with the shower so he can hand me my towel & get me my powder! It has become a routine with us. Now that #3 is on the way due in June I don't know what I am going to do :lol:!
