What kind of gifts do you like?

What types of gifts do you like to receive? Just wondering :crazy:

I like almost all gifts (except gag gifts :lol: ) But I have a tendency of liking clothes gifts more... :crazy:

I'm into art gifts. I have some friends and relatives who like doing things (candles, glass figures, etc) and I appreciate it very much when they make something special for me :)

I like pretty much anything, but I really love crafty gifts, especially if the giver is the one who made it :)

I love home-made gifts as well. I think it is so special for someone to put time/thought/effort and their own creativity to work for me :) But, I'm usually open for anything :blush:

I prefer gift certificates, honestly. We’ve been given so many token gifts of candles and little trinkets over the years that we really don’t have room for anything else. Not to mention that personal taste varies so much. One person’s idea of tasteful isn’t always the same as another’s.

I think of the poll options, I’d rather just spend time with family (i.e., dinner out) rather than exchange physical gifts.

But of course I’m always very polite no matter what I’m given, and always send a thank you!

I voted that I prefer the company of family and friends to gifts, but I do like receiving gifts sometimes. If it's just something someone bought for the sake of giving a gift, I'd rather not receive it. But I love receiving things that show that someone knows me and knows what I would like. Cash and gift cert's are always good, too! :)

From your choices I voted clothes because hell I could always go for a nice shirt. Usually though I am choosing something for the house. I love to make it pretty!

I agree with Nichole. I always put a lot of thought and effort into gifts that I give, so its cool to get a gift that you know someone thought about before they bought it! That rarely happens, so I would just prefer the money or a GC if they are going to buy me something just for the sake of it. Then at least I can get something I actually want.

I also love to get flowers or plants as gifts!

I'm one for cash & GCs. No, its not too personal, but oh well.

MIL aploized for giving me a GC to a bookstore for Christmas, and I told her not to worry because a GC meant that I could use it for a book and some time alone... much better than just a book!

I am with ya on people just giving a gift for the sake of giving a gift. My MIL and SIL bought me Precious Moments for my Bday, that is not my style AT ALL and they know that. They went to Hallmark at the last minute and just grabbed whatever :rolleyes: I always put thought into their gifts, I hope next time they don't bother.

I love most kinds of gifts. I think my favorites are clothes (as long as it's my sister or mom picking them out!) and I also like smelly lotions. :) But most people don't have the best luck picking out something I like so in that case I prefer gift cards.

I love getting gifts that are either handmade by the giver or involve getting to spend time with the giver. The next best is a gift certificate for a massage!

But generally I like any gift. I really like gifty gifts like candles, soaps, etc. Pretty little things that make you feel good but you never think to buy yourself.
