We're doing a Blue's Clues party for Joe's birthday and we're having a tough time coming up with a good Blue's Clues game. We're hoping the weather will cooperate and we can hide the clues outside, but we probably need an inside alternative. The problem is coming up with an answer that 3 and 4 year olds can figure out fairly easily.
I thought maybe if we all work together we can come up with a couple of ideas that could work. So does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks Hilary, although apparently I wasn't clear enough. We're looking for ideas for an actual Blue's Clues game - find the clues and figure out what they mean. I did look on the Nick Jr site and the ones they give aren't that great.

Doesn't joe like music? Maybe you could do some music notes, a picture of an instrument, and something to indicate playing.

That's an idea.
Mary wants to make clues leading to a pinata. I don't think the kids will be able to guess pinata. What do you guys think?

No..but maybe they would be able to guess a candy bag and you could lead them into what would be a pinata.
So the game would be "what does Blue want to do today" Then you need clues..
One clue could be musical notes (dance)
Once clue could be Party blowers
and the final clue could be cake
Then What blue wants to do today "Celebrate Joe's 4th birthday"
Finish with a pinata being the beginning of the celebration!
Just an idea

My friends had a blue's clue's birthday for their 1 yr. old. They didn't play an actual game, but kind of did one with the decorations.
They put paw prints on pictures of:
Happy face
Birthday cake
Birthday girl
So that the answer was "Happy Birthday, Megan"
As for the pinata, I guess it depends on whether they've done a pinata before. Maybe you could do: stick, candy, bindfold, or the place where the pinata will be... or maybe just clue to the place it will be. :dunno:

That's kind of what Mary is thinking - clues to go to the basement. We're trying to figure out the right balance of keeping them busy looking for clues and not having it too hard to figure out.

Let's find blue's clues
What does Blue want to do next?
Three clues: A long stick, a bandana, and candy.
The children can guess that Blue wants to hit the piņata.

I think it depends on how many parties they've been to. I think Janelle would definitely get pinata, it's her favorite part of all birthday parties...but if they haven't been to many parties with a pinata I think that would be a hard one.
