Have you been to a place that has just pleasantly surprised you?

I flew to Mexico city to meet up with DH because his job unexpectedly required him to stay for the weekend. No offense to anyone from Mexico City but the state department advisory had nothing good to say about it. a few people at work didn't like it there either. But I kept an open mind anyway. If anything, DH and I just planned to sit in the hotel room together.

We had such a blast!!! We stayed at the Zona Rosa area and the area was very clean. The people were pretty nice. Our cab driver nearly ran over someone who just jumped out in front of the car and he didn't charge us for the ride. The pyramids were awesome. It was overall one of our best trips.
