We are currently TAB and losing weight because I cannot stand looking at myself in the mirror anymore. I pretty much have it set in my head that it is going to take IVF to get us pregnant since we tried everything else. We did have one month of success on glucophage and tamoxifen with no monitoring as we were supposed to be on TAB cycle but I thought WTH and it worked. Unfortunately that ended in a miscarriage :tear: I think my body can't take the stress of the constant worrying and monitoring but the RE won't prescribe any medication and just let us go home and do it the natural way. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has ever lost a good amount of weight and gotten pg. I still think we will needs drugs to get pregnant since I have a sister who is much thinner than me and she is just as irregular as me. Also I am not sure why I am not getting pregnant in the first place since EVERY cycle I have ovulated on anything we tried and it is just not working.
Any thoughts would be helpful.

Ive thought the same thing, that maybe if I lost weight, my progesterone levels would even out and we'd be able to concieve easier. I'm not sure if there's any correlation though :dunno:

I was told my weight didn't play a factor in my infertility and I'm betting I have a good 50 ponds on you (or more). Are the doctors the ones telling you to lose weight, or is it something you are doing for yourself? Personally, I wasn't willing to wait until I lost weight to get PG. I think (and this I am NOT sure about) that if wight is an issue, if affects your hormones. Mine were normal when tested.

Kerri, I was concerned that my weight was a problem, but my RE has never said a word to me about it. In fact, she said there is virtually nothing I can do lifestyle wise that would change anything. I think it's wonderful that you're trying to lose weight, but please don't blame your IF problems on your weight, especially since your sister is irregular as well. I know I have spent a lot of time blaming myself, (Maybe it's my weight, maybe I drink too much caffeine, maybe I stress too much) and I did feel better from what the RE told me.
