I just did my invitations for Jackson's birthday party next month, and I realized that I will have 9 2 year olds in attendence if everyone can come.

My plan was to do some sort of art & craft activity for the kids, but I am not really sure of what their capabilities will be. I don't really have a theme for the party, but since it is right before Halloween I was thinking they could decorate pumpkins or something.

Does anyone else have any good ideas for keeping these kids busy?

You could make halloween (pumpkin?) sugar cookies and let them frost them. My kids get a kick out of that. We recently did that at a playgroup and they LOVED it. made a mess, but loved it.

I got a tub of those felt/spongs shape things. They are self stick, so you peel off the back and stick them on like stickers.

You can also print out pictures on the Web for them to color. I like your idea of decorating pumpkins, though! Then you don't have to worry about a party favor- they take the pumpkins home with them.

I just bought some big wooden pumpkins at Michaels (they're flat, but cut out of wood in the shape of a big pumpkin). Then I bought Halloween colored craft paint and Halloween shaped sponges/stamps (cheap) and I'm going to have him decorate them and send them as Halloween greetings to the family members. The pumpkins were only like $1.00 each.
