Anyone done FEDERAL Jury Duty?

I received notification that I'm to report for Jury Duty for Philadelphia District Court on Feb 13th! :owow:

Anyone ever been called to federal jury duty? What can I expect?
What types of cases does federal handle vs my county jury duty?

I've never been on federal jury duty, but as far as the type of cases go, federal courts typically handle violations of federal laws, while county and state courts handle violations of state laws. Probably not all that helpful, is it? Sorry. It could really be anything, though. Mail fraud, kidnapping, RICO, just to name a few. I'm so envious. I'd LOVE to serve on a jury - any jury. But it's unlikely I'll ever get to. If you actually WANT to serve, they sense it, and don't want you to. :lol:

My brother served on Federal duty for Philadelphia.....I believe it was a Russian Mofia type case and it was a few weeks. Philadelphia can be a pain because they can call you for both....I served on two juries in Philadelphia, one civil and one criminal....I was never called for Federal duty.....good luck......

Good luck Lette! My aunt served federal jury dury and I believe it was for a murder charge. Federal jury is definately far from petty stuff compared to county.

I got notice to serve for jury duty on 3/18 but I sent it in with 1 of the 10 hardship excuses they listed. Can't help it if I'm the sole caretaker for Lexie and there really is noone else that would be able to watch her.
