Post the ID's of your bad ebay sellers here. We seem to have had a run of bad purchases, especially on Gymbo, so I know I'd love to use this as a reference list!

Bridget, or Pidget, as I'm known on ebay

there is a known scammer on ebay, there's been threads on her on GR and other boards, these are the known alias's.

*gymboree*4*me

*speed*racer* (her Dh's ID)

lelemc06*26*04

kojack*s_closets

mckinley331

basically she wins, pays, claims to never get it, files with paypal, harasses the seller etc.

sellers: be sure to use DC on all your packages if you're using paypal, you have some protection then, if you don't have it apparently they side with the buyer.

BLOCK HER!! BLOCK HER!! BLOCK HER!!

I will try and make this as short as possible. I have mentioned this story before. Basically, I won a gymbo outfit, paid for it the next day by the invoice she sent me. About a month later, and no outfit I emailed her. I waited longer because it was coming to Ireland sometimes things can get held up in customs. Anyway, I emailed and emailed, never returned any of them. So I filed through ebay and she responded saying I didn't pay enough in shipping. WTF?? I paid what she invoiced me AND she never let me know this. Well at this point it had been almost two months and I requested my money back as she wasn't getting any more money from me. She responded through ebay saying that was fine. A week went by, nothing. Two weeks, nothing. I sent email after email, nothing. I tried to escalate the claim but ebay said they could not do anything because the purchase price was $19.99 and it had to be $25 or over for them to do anything. Great. So, I left her negative feedback. And lo and behold guess who got negative feedback the next day. ME! I have NEVER received negative feedback. And my feedback she left me said I didn't pay enough in shipping. I was FUMING. The thought of her leaving me retaliatory feedback did cross my mind but I just thought there was NO WAY considering she had my money and the clothes. I have done everything
I know to do. I have filed through paypal, they couldn't do anything because it has been over 45 days. Ebay won't do anything. I have emailed and emailed saying if she took my negative feedback off I would do the same. Nothing! So she has my money AND the merchandise AND I have negative feedback with brought my score from 100% to 98.1%. Her score when I bought this item was above 99% and today it is 93.8%. It appears I am not the only victim.

Dang Dori, you got royally screwed. This is a good thread to start.

Kim, what does DC mean? I also didn't know you could block bidders. What other gold nuggets of information do you have?

Another one to put on your bad seller list:

nemosnax

She sold me a "like New" dress that had a huge OJ stain on the front. I left 3 emails asking to work it out, etc. No response. Even though in my last email I told her if she didn't reply by a certain date, I would leave negative feedback. She also left retaliatory feedback. I did a reply, but wish I would have put that language in it b/c it is perfect. Nonetheless, I would advise caution.

Not a jackass at all Kim! I know zilch about selling on ebay and I am slowly picking up tid bits here and there. For instance, I found the thread about the webpages (is that even the right word?) you can use to list on ebay to be enlightening. I was wondering how people listed their stuff w/ gymbo accessories around it. I like it even better that one is free. This is all going into the memory bank for when the day comes after I am done having kids, and I put on a massive sale.

At last, a sane person who wants to let others know about BAD EBAY SELLERS. After reviewing an auction where the item description didn't match the photo, I contacted the seller Idella74 (who is a Trading Assistant) to ask a simple question, thinking that maybe the photo was incorrect or the description was wrong. The response I got back was completely rude and obnoxious. Long story short--didn't buy the item because of the seller's history, and then I get mailbombed by this loon--as of today 30+ emails, from threatening to sue me, to reporting me to my employer (yes, I said she was a loon) to sending me pix of her cat. I had to block this person and contacted the seller's IP service to report SPAM and harrassing emails. After a second review of the history, found out this seller has done the same email bombing to other ebayers. SAD, SAD, SAD. Thanks for letting me vent.

jeremyncasey I caught this seller shill bidding on stuff I was bidding on, but prior to that- I won an auction of gymbo from her that was supposedly like new...when it came, it was trash- not even play condition. Would not refund and I did'nt leave negative feedback, b/c she threated to leave retaliatory feedback!

What does shill bidding mean?

Sandy, it means that the person is signing on ebay under a different name and bidding on their own items to increase the selling price... really unfair! :eviltongu

Speaking of a shill bidder, I was very curious about this one auction my dad won.
Tell me what you think?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6595269903

I did a search on the bidder minorintl (0) http://pics.ebaystatic.com/aw/pics/s.gif:

He/she has 0 feedback
Has not bid on or won anything in the past 30 days (as far back as it lets me search )
Location = United States (gotta love it when they list that!)
Here's the confusing thing:

Member since Oct 25, 2004 !
no ID changes
This person bumped up the bid on my dad from $71 to $118.

I searched the seller's recent history of sold items and didn't see anyother shill-looking auctions, but it all seemed strange to me.

What do you think?

Hi, I'm new here. I noticed this thread and had to post. I purchased an item on ebay and the shipping cost stated that the price as $3.00 to the US since I am in Canada I of course expected the price to change for me. When I got the invoice it stated the shipping cost as $6.00, so I paid it right away, even though I thought it was kind of high for a super-light weight gymbo sweater that cost $10, but I thought she might be shipping priority. Almost three weeks goes by and I finally get the item; even though I am in Canada things usually get here fairly fast. It arrives in a thin paper envelope that could not have cost more than $.70 and the shiping total on the package said $1.70. I sent her a nice e-mail asking about the over-charge and she sent me the rudest e-mail, she was using capitals so it was like she was yelling, saying it was her "handling"fee and that I should check the auction. There is no "handling" fee listed on the auction. After more rude e-mails I finally left her negative feedback, she had already left me positive after I paid so quickly, but she rights a follow up saying I am an "unfair and dishonest buyer" :dunno: How does that work? anyway watch out for seller

I have tried every way possible to get my money back for a fake autographed jersey I bought on ebay. Auction ended middle of March, paid for it on Mar. 21, 2006. I got the jersey and it the autograph was so fake looking that I had it appraised by psa/dna services and they sent it back saying it clearly was a fake. Ebay took the auction off their site for infringement violations so no way to give seller a negative feedback. He refuses to refund the money. He will not respond to my emails anymore and I have contacted every agency other than the police to get my money back. (BBB, online fraud alert, paypal, atty gen., post office, etc.) This person lives in Millerton, PA name Graig Reeves,
ebay auction #8780124668 ALEX RODRIGUEZ AUTO YANKEES JERSEY,
buyers beware, he is a ripoff artist.
ebay id has been changed since to white_n_blue_psu
ebay is no help with this.

this is why you need to always pay with paypal on ebay, AND use cc paypal so they can do a chargeback to the seller. providing the seller still has the account with $ in it, you might be able to recoup.

Oh I have one buyfromme247 . DO NOT SELL the person any type of seat to a game, concert, etc... because if the stars are not aligned properly on that day he will not pay. He purchased NFL tickets from us on Dec. 23 knowing that he needed to arrange pick up within 8 hours. After the auction ended he kept e-mailing my DH stating that he forgot his phone and was at work and would call when he was done, NOT. He apparently didn't like the weather forcast and decided that he would rather not go so we got to eat $175 worth of tickets.

I know exactly how you feel. I am in Canada too, and I just won 9 summer pieces off ebay from one seller. She just sent my invoice and she wants $45USD for shipping. Can you imagine????? I buy off ebay all the time from the states, and there is no way that the package would cost that much for USPS airmail. It'll probably cost her around $8 - $10 USD to ship it. I hate hate hate being gouged on shipping just because I am in Canada. So you have to actually go to the post office to mail it. Big deal.
I'll get off my soap box now...

actually i just sold some clothes to a canadian :awink: it was 2lbs 13oz, too bulky for an envelope so it was in a small box. the minimum non-priority price to ship was about $15 and it would take a month to get there. we took another approach to shipping but i will tell you the options to ship to canada (east coast u.s. to west coast canada) were not cheap.

Bad seller: etailsurplus

Sold me 4 hard drives for my computer in 4 different auctions. All 4 were bad! 1 wasn't even as described. Refuses to refund me for them all. Will refund me for the misrepresented one, provided I drop the disputes on the other 3. I left negative feedback on all 4 auctions; even left follow up remarks. I'm still stuck with non-working merchandise. :(

Beware of kmark80. He sells TRASH for CASH. Advertisement is open and correct. Items are sold "As Is". But, BEWARE. This seller is a GARBAGE COLLECTOR. His merchandise is junk and not worth your time. He took me for >$75 (E-Bay item #280009741950) and laughed all the way to the bank.

Best Regards.

Oh wow --I relate to all of these. I've never had any negative feedback from a buyer. (I will pretty much do what is needed to keep them happy, and so far nothing outrageous has been asked! <crosses fingers>) I have had some wingding sellers, though!
Precious Pink Polkadots sent me a Lulu outfit (My first!) which I'd paid over 40 bucks for, and it had dried on, HUGE chunks of oatmeal all over the skirt, (I mean, REALLY obvious staining -- not one of those is it or isn't it marks we all debate over when selling) along with some yellow, mustardy like stains. Even then I didn't complain -- just sent her a polite email explaining that the items had come stained and that I would try and wash them out, but if they didn't come out I would be returning the item and expected a full refund, including shipping, if that turned out to be the case.
Well, this lunatic wrote back that she would not be threatened by me (Excuse me, asking for a refund if something doesn't wash out when you've described the clothing as LN?) and that the outfit was perfect when sent, and I must have stained it. She then threatened me, saying I would get what I deserve and she hoped I had a crappy Christmas. Well, I immediately blocked her emails and complained to eBay, AND tried to get Paypal to resolve the issue, but apparently they don't consider stains to be 'item significantly not as described'. Can you believe it?

Most recently I made a polite inquiry to Butterflies n Baseballs about a dress they have listed. I mean, I say please and thank you and everything, and I get back huge shouting letters "NO AND NO." A minor thing, but she was a power seller with perfect feedback, and it made me wonder how she maintained it.

Speaking of which, ALL the negative feedback I receive has been retaliatory. It's a bummer, but I risk it when I complain about a seller I've had a bad experience with because I think it's important for other eBayers to know. That being said, I think eBay needs to do something about the retaliatory thing, as it seems to be inhibiting a lot of people from leaving honest feedback. Also, I've often felt that Neutral feedback should be just that, and not be lumped in with the negative. That way you can complain about minor things (Like overcharging a bit for shipping, etc, a minor missed stain, etc.) without causing a war.

Tessrcat
August 15th, 2006, 09:44 AM
BTW -- is there any way to block sellers you don't want to bid on? I forget the names of all the wingdings I've encountered on eBay, and would prefer not to see their auctions! lol

Oooo! Just saw this one too! I feel your pain! I often assume when a seller wants to charge me eight bucks to ship a shirt that they are simply insisting on shipping via an insured method. Nothing ticks me off more than to get the package and see they paid a buck ninety-nine to ship the darn thing!!! Gouging Canadians (And other 'foreign' bidders!) Is SO not cool! lol
Is everyone aware of eBay's new policy with regard to 'excessive' handling fees? You can now report sellers who chare way too much. I'm not sure it will help us with eight dollar instances, but for 45 bucks, I expect they'd do something!

Bridget

I have been hesitantly shipping to Canada. It's harder to prep the packages and I'm limited on time, but I goofed on the first couple of auctions and lost a lot of money shipping there. Now I just post that I'll ship Global Priority (which for the type of stuff I sell is about $8). Hopefully it will all go OK. :errr:

Tesscat you can block bidders by going into your user preferences.

Thanks Bridget!

Please let me clarify -- I don't object to being charged actual shipping costs and a small handling fee, and I find that the sellers who ship Global Priority do so because that allows them to insure and track the package, so I'm fine with that. What I object to are the people who charge eight dollars and then send it through regular mail for two or three dollars!

Hope I haven't offended anyone! :-)

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS EBAY SELLER chosen.s.d I purchased a fish tank heater from him on wednesday 8/23/06 he sent me a message stating this

"Don't worry about paying for this item. It's Friday night and you have
not paid as you stated. I expected payment within 24 hours, but forgot
to put that on this listing. I am relisting it. So don't pay. "

I paid this guy on friday night just like I said I would. This seller is rude and inexperienced It was bad communication on his part I was so stressed out about this I would hate for anyone else to have to go through this. I have bought so many things on ebay in the last two years and never had a problem with anyone. An come on if you want to be paid within 24 hours you have to put that in your auction not just assume the person knows that. Just about every seller I have bought from asks for payment within three to seven days. Then he leaves me negative feedback because he is an idiot. SO BUYERS BEWARE OF THS BAD EBAY SELLER!!!!!!!

O.K. I bought something on eBay from my3ksm she sent an item covered in animal hair yet she advertises as smoke free PET FREE. It had so much hair that I thought maybe an animal slept on it or maybe it was worn with the tags and then posted as NWT. Anyway, I left possitive feedback before checking the inside of the item (I looked at the skirt and it looked o.k., then I looked at the tulle underskirt and there you go gair catched everywhere). I contacted the seller by mail and no reply and no feedback for me!

I always wondered about this - because I feel so guilty if I don't refund the person for the exact shipping if shipping ends up being cheaper.

I also found out that International shipping is a PITA. I ended up losing $3 on shipping a $10 item because of postal problems. Oh well.

I wouldn't call this person a "bad eBay seller", but he/she is using Gymboree pictures on their listings, which I know is not allowed. Sucks because she's getting really good bids. While other people, like me, have to struggle to get really good pics of my items.

O.K. So I sent another email asking for my feedback and two days later she posted positive feedback for me. No answer whatsoever about the animal hair. So I have the skirt in a plastic bag and I am trying to decide what to do with it. We have allergies here. Hellooo that is why I checked she was pet free. A total lose for me. I am thinking about donating it, it will make some little girl without allergies happy and that will make me happy.

Anyway, I will say block or at least be very careful with

Is it alot of animal hair? Would washing it, using a lint brush, washing it again, airing it in the sun help? Could it be drycleaned?

A lint sticky paper can remove most of it and then it can be washed.I already removed most of it, but I am not comfortable handling it to my daughter even if I wash it.
