View Full Version : My sister is on her way to L&D!

My sister called. She went for a checkup and they sent her to L&D. She has too little amniotic fluid and the heartrate of the baby was not OK.
Now I am hoping and praying that she and her little one will be safe and sound. They might induce her but I think chances are that she'll have a c-section.

The upside of this is that my mom is arriving here at 1:30 pm - and they asked me to go and pick her up in their stead. That means my mom will stay with us until my sister has had her baby - unless my mom decides to take a cab there and be with her. My sister asked if it would be OK with us if my mom slept over in case she won't have the baby until the evening. Are you kidding me??? The more time I can spend with my mom the better - I haven't seen her since January 2004!!!
So here I am ... nervously awaiting the arrival of our nephew.

That's exciting. I hope that everything goes smoothly for your sister. :)

Your Mom is flying in from NY? Did you give her a big list of stuff to pick up for the kids from the States? :)

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers!

:bteddy: He is here!:bteddy:
I am proud to present my nephew!! (Name will be given in a week at the Bris.)

Both mom and baby boy are OK. :suck: She even managed to nurse him right after birth.
They came to L&D and checked her. TG everything seemed OK with the baby. So they stripped her membranes, let her walk around and around 7 pm contractions started without a need to induce her. At 1:45 am the little man arrived, weighing 3.4 kilos. :sunny:

Thanks, Clare!

I am really worried. Julie is still bleeding heavily and she fainted in the shower and then again when she was on a wheelchair on the way from the shower to bed. She was put in the room that is closest to the nurses for observation. That could be so dangerous! I hope she will be fine soon.

Congrats on your new nephew!

I bled just like that after Micayla. They ended up giving me pitocin after birth to contract the uterus and slow my bleeding. Obviously I turned out just fine. I'm sure she will too. :hug99:

Thanks!
Julie and the baby are fine. They were released from the hospital last night and had their first (sleepless) night at home.
I'll know the name on Thursday.
