Adjustable waist pants

I seem to remember something in a thread awhile back about adjustable waist pants. Aaron is extremely skinny (barely pushing 30 lbs) but getting extremely tall (over 37") He's grown out of his 2T pants and now I need to buy him some 3Ts for fall/winter.

Here's my problem. My kid has NO BUTT :lol: So while the 3T stuff may fit him length wise, they are falling down around the ankles. I keep telling him the 'showing-your-diaper' look is so un-cool at age 2. :)

Anyway. Aren't there pants available that have adjustable waists INSIDE, kind of like adjustable maternity pants? :scratch:

Target, Gymboree, and Gap have them for girls, I'm sure they probably have them for boys too.

gap and gymboree have them for boys. not sure you can get them in such a small size though...i think they're usually in kid boy sizes. i buy 4's for tony and they have adj. waist.

Baby Gap has adjustable waist pants in 2T and above. They also have some really cute belts out now too!

We have 3T and 4T adjustable waist jeans from Gap, Lee and Levi. Should be clear where I got the Gap ones :lol: and the Lee and Levi ones I got at BRU/TRU and Kohls.

Old Navy has ones that at least start in boys size 4, but I'm not sure about the "T' sizes. FWIW, we tried on regular Children's Place jeans in 4T and ON adjustable waist jeans in 4, and they fit nearly the same in both waist and length. We went with Children's Place b/c they were cheaper. :) (2 for $24 v. $19.50 each)

Osh Kosh has them as well. They start at 2T.

Carter's also have adjustable waist. And if you look in stores like Filenes, Macys, etc... some of the non-name brand have adjustable waists.

I find that Gymboree and Gap have the best adjustable waist for Cameron.

Aidan needs the adjustable waist, too. After trying several brands, we like Gymbo & Gap. I could never find Levi ones that fit correctly w/ the adj. waist.


FYI --elastic backed waist Levi were tight enough to stay up on Aidan.

Chase sounds almost the same size as Aaron, although not as tall....but he is barely 30 lbs and skinny with no butt!! :lol: I have been buying him adjustable waist pants from Gap, but will have to start with Gymboree pants this fall/winter I think. The good news is that he seems to be able to wear his pants forever and isn't constantly outgrowing them. ;)

I just got back from Kohl's and their Sonoma brand (which I don't usually care for because of quality issues) has adjustable waist pants. Right now they are BOGO and the pants were $20/ea.

I just got Alyssa some Old Navy Adjustable waist pants..They are all on sale right now. I think I paid 10.15$ for them! They are nice but LONG. I got her a 3T and she usually wears a 3T old navy so I didn't think I would have a problem. They are really long and I think extra wide for big bellies tightened each side 5 holes and they are still falling down

I was just coming here to post that today Jayne. I was at ON yesterday and I got Aaron a pair of adjustable waist jeans. I got him a 3T :faint: and they are only about 2" too long.

And all Old Navy baby (and maternity!) stuff is on sale for 25% off this week! :)

Kari they are supper long..and if he has a tiny butt make sure you tighten them really tight. I couldn't believe how they ran. Her normal 3T's fit her perfect and are actually a little short I knew when I held them up in the store they looked long so I stuck with the 3T so glad I didn't push for the 4T. She would have swam in them.

Ah - he's a bit bigger than Alyssa. I think he's about 38-40lbs. And he's taller than that, as well. And he's in a 4T. But the 4Ts all fall down on him b/c he's got no fat on him. So I think these will work well.

BTW - those are cute jeans!

Morgan has had several pairs of pants like this and they STILL don't stay up on her butt....she takes after her dad :lol:
