I just want to know if the # of outfits I bought are somewhat normal because I think I really went out of control. :) I gave myself the excuse that they are 'starting school' - preschool that is.

Also how many pairs of shoes/sneakers did/will you buy?

So far Abby and Addy both have 6 play/less nice school outfits and about 22 (I counted 22 yesterday, I still have 2 Baby Lulu outfits that I preordered coming, 2 custom outfits and one ebay outfit and a Hanna Anderson outfit coming) nicer outfits for fall/winter. The only other things I will be buying for her will be a Christmas outfit (or two) and any outfits that I really must have, I have to stop buying!!

a think the word 'buttload' would cover it , last time i counted i had 20 complete outfits of what i call her 'good stuff', gymboree, naartjie and hanna that i only let her wear on weekends or when she's not in daycare (most bought during end of season sales). since then i've purchased a bunch of stuff for daycare. probably up to 30 by now.

yes i'm aware it's excessive. and i really don't care  she is my only girl and my last baby and i will buy her whatever strikes my fancy.

however i have some things i plan on selling

Wow... I would imagine that Anna will have around 15 total... and that's being generous. I bought her a good pair of sturdy outdoor shoes, a pair of dressier shoes, and maybe two pair of Robeez for inside. I stay at home with her... maybe that makes a difference. :dunno:

Kim, I like your attitude! I often tell myself the same thing - Jada is the only little girl I'll ever have so what the hell?

OK, now that you made me feel better I'll tell my numbers: Jada has 26 complete outfits and 5 miscellaneous shirts. Justin has 18 outfits, 3 miscellaneous shirts. Jada has 2 pairs of shoes so far and 1 pair of sneakers. Justin has 1 pair of shoes and 2 pairs of sneakers.

Kim~ I'm right the with you on not caring, they are my babies and I love kids clothes and before I know it they won't wear what I think is cute. So, I'm going to enjoy it while I can!

I've yet to buy shoes for fall for Addy since her feet may grow a ton in the near future but Abby has 7 pairs right now and she still needs some brown, black and navy mary janes.

omg bridget :rotflmao:

i forgot to include tony :blush1: bad mom moment there .

he has 14 new l/s shirts, 2pr sweats, about 3pr jeans from last winter that still fit now that he's potty trained, and 2 new pr pants.

he needs more jeans i think. he only has one set of clothes, no distinction between daycare and good stuff

I need to count tonight - I've actually been freaking that I've bought too much, but I have been buying for winter and next summer both, for both kids.

I know Caleb will have at least four new pairs of shoes.

Dori, I think you have the best policy of all. And I agree with all of you - I've only got a few years where I can buy whatever I personally like for the kids, and I'm going to enjoy it while I can!! So screw counting!!

Buttload is a good one for us, too  Seriously, though, since I am a bargain hunter, I stocked up starting LAST SUMMER on stuff for Norah for this fall/winter/spring. And I was unsure of her size and she's grown slower than I anticipated, so we have more than I thought we would. Its mainly Gymbo, Gap, Baby Lulu (for Norah), and a bunch of boutique stuff I bought secondhand from a friend and Gap & Old Navy (for Elliott). ALL of E's stuff is hand-me-down from his big brother  Poor kid. Both kids likely have about 30 outfits?
Aidan has about 5 new shirts and 2 new pair of pants and 5 pairs of pants that still fit from last season, and maybe 2-4 shirts that still fit from last season. So he'll need a few more things.

Anyway...shoes. That is totally something I DO NOT go overboard with. Each boy gets 2 pr....sneakers and dressier shoes. Norah has a few more, but I got a bunch of shoes for free from a friend (shoes that her daughter never wore).

Am I the only freak that doesn't count? I know it's a bunch 'cause she still has some stuff left from last year, and I knew that she needed more pants but not many shirts, and so bought 3 pairs of pants to go with what we already had and a few shirts that struck my fancy. I don't care how many it is!

As for shoes, she has one pair of tennis shoes, one pair of loafer-casual-slipon type shoes, and one pair of dressy shoes.

Oy, I have no clue...I won't even go there and count. I am another one of the buttloads. Heck.....that means fewer laundry days for me.....my kids would have to run naked otherwise.

I *think* at last count Janelle has 32 and Kincaid has 34...I will not be buying anything else unless I absolutely love it.

Ohh, Kincaid also has about 15 long sleeved shirts/sweaters and 4 pairs of pants that mix and match that isn't counted in that 34.

Jillian
August 31st, 2005, 05:47 PM
Ohh gosh, I'm supposed to count shoes?!?!?

Well, I think I'm excused from a monstrously high number because Janelle has been wearing size 5 shoes (and 12-18 month robeez) for well over a year now. But she has 26 pairs of size 5 shoes(this is including 4 pair of 12-18 robeez) and 5 pairs of size 6 shoes (which she dang well better grow into by fall, this includes 2 pair of 18-24m robeez)...she also has 2 pair of size 7 shoes. Kincaid has a pair of target knock off robeez, a pair of real robeez(that are 6-12 and getting too small, he needs a new pair this month), a pair of shoo-shoos, strideright sneakers, and a pair of air jordans in a size 4 (stupid bil...he bought him jordans and a basketball jersey for his first birthday). I'm expecting him to grow into size 5 within the next month or two and he will need new stride rights.

Am I the only freak that doesn't count?

 Freak! Just kidding. I dont count. I only knew because just last week I took most of it out of storage and put it into their dresser drawers. So I did a mental count in my mind.

A LOT

I really don't know how much Sara has... a rubbermaid tub FULL and another box I bought off Kim. That's just 6-12 stuff for fall. I have another rubbermaid tub (that I'd forgotten about  ) of 12-18 stuff for winter and/or spring stuff. She probably has 2 or 3 pairs of shoes, 2 pairs of soft soled shoes and 2 more pairs of soft soled shoes coming from Kim :)

I don't know about Matthew. I have to see what I have that fits him from last year now that he's potty trained and then I'll raid my friend's stuff when I go to her house on 9/17.

I actually need to count - and figure out what we still need. DH doesn't understand why she can't get by with two pairs of jeans and 5 t-shirts. I, on the other hand, am another one who feels that since she's my only baby and it's just a matter of time before she stops letting me pick her clothes, I'm going to buy her whatever the heck I want to.

Off to count!

Okay....Alex is just starting to wear some of his 24 month clothes. :) I have pretty much everything hung in his closet, so I went and counted all his 24 month and 2T clothes -

shirts (long and short sleeves) - 25
sweaters (incl. 18 month and light jackets) - 10
pants - 9 (+8 pair of shorts)
shoes - size 6 - 7 (incl. 2 pair of 24 month Robeez)
size 7 - 2 (+ he can still wear the 24 month Robeez)

If I see something really cute now, I look for it in a 3T or 4T. He has so many clothes, there are outfits he has never worn!

I also have a boatload of girl's clothes that never got worn in plastic tubs! If #2 is a girlo, she'll be overloaded from day 1 until she starts preschool!

Only sneakers? Why? Is it part of a uniform?
For shoes they all have about 5-6 pair Ashley can ONLY wear sneakers to school though

Okay, well I think part of the problem is that you have to understand that we frequently have a very warm fall, so many of the outfits in Katie's fall wardrobe are either leftovers from summer, or will be used next spring and summer (provided she still fits into them...), so it's not as bad as it seems!

Right now, she has:
7 dresses or dress jumpers (not including her really dressy, Christmas-type stuff)
4 yoga sets
10 skirt/top outfits (1 of which still needs a matching top)
9 pants/top outfits (4 of which still need matching tops)
1 top that needs a skirt or pants to go with it

and 5 play outfits (jeans or cords, t-shirt or sweater/fleece

She also has a ton of random t-shirts that don't match anything (thanks Mom and MIL, who bring them/send them to us all the time) and a bunch of shorts she'll wear this fall, but that won't work past late October or so.

And she has 2 pairs of sandals, 1 pair flip-flops, 1 pair tennies, 1 pair boots, and 4 pairs shoes.

And I'm totally NOT done yet, either.

Too damn many. Atleast for the girls anyway. I'm the gymbo freak.
The boys kind of pick their own. Austin got a (what was the word for it....oh yeah....)BUTTLOAD:supergrin from his Dad and Step Mom Amy.
Liam is the only one i'm waiting to buy for. His brother has him convinced gymboree boys clothes are "dorky." And he's OBSESSED with camo (Daddy's mini me gi joe).
Plus, He's been going through a growth spurt lately.
He has his own individual style.
Like lately it's camo shorts, halloween socks (orange and black.... woohoo festive!), a spiderman (pronounced PHFiderman) shirt and Superman boots (Pronounced pooperman boots).

Um, I think Peyton is currently at 40 outfits. :bolt:

I'm sure that number will rise as I plan on buying a lot of the Rocky Moutain line when it comes out.

I think Lindsey has about 20 Gymboree outfits and she still has a ton of other no name brand outfits from when Peyton was little.

Wow, I feel so minimal compared to all of you. I want to say Aiden has maybe 10 outfits, with only 3 extra sweaters and I recently bought him a sweatshirt from my college to match mine

Aiden will get one pair of really good sneakers. He grows out of them every 3 months it seems, so I just buy one nice pair and he remains casual.

He has nice clothes, but I am finding the selection for boys in his size is limiting, or the things that I like just aren't on sale yet. He has kind of hit a plateau in his growth, so things that I bought on sale last year are still too big for him.

I have NO idea how much stuff I bought! I bought so many outfits off Ebay over the past few months and I already had a few set aside that I had bought on Clearance... At least 20 to 30 if not more.

As far as shoes, we usually only buy one pair maybe two. I already have one pair for fall.

Well I was just actually arranging things this morning. Micayla has about 25 outfits or so. Melayna has half that. I'm going to need to get her alot more since Micayla wore only 18m & 3T fall clothes and she's in 2T. Brayden... a freaking ton. I have no idea how many but it's wayyyyy more than the girls. But most of it was given to me so I didn't buy much of it.

Another non-counter here. No way. You know what...and I almost did count yesterday, when I was organizing all Alexia's stuff in her closet and drawers. Then I said, there's just no way. A butt load Alexia has. And then, as for Angelina, the girl doesn't need too many fall/winter outfits cuz she has Alexia's hand me downs, but with 2 girls it don't work that way. I also buy Angelina a ton of clothes too. By seeing the amt. of clothes in Alexia's closet, I've decided that she does have more than enough. And I only plan on buying her a couple must-haves and that's it. I had to get her an ENTIRE new fall/winter wardrobe because last year she was in 18 mos. and 24 mos. which don't fit her now. So I'm slowing down with the shopping for her. Need to save up for other things we're getting done around the house!!!

Shoes...uh, let's not go there.

For Angelina she hasn't worn shoes since she's not walking yet (well, ok....she has the sandals to go with At the Beach and PP and a basic pair of white ones.). We think without a doubt she'll be walking before 1 yr. old and when that happens, then the count will begin with her shoe collection as well.

I wanna see so I can tell my Dh the next time he complains that atleast the girls don't have as much as Ang and Alexia. :tongue2:
I should take one of mygirls' closet. It's frightening. And shoes... don't even get me started on shoes. Lily has a ton. But I'm the same way. Imelda better watch out!:awink:

Because they have PE (gym) every day and if they don't wear sneakers they get a --- mark for the day for non-participation

Duh, why didn't I think of that. My kids have the same rule.
I must be really slow today.
