Hi all. My husband and I have just about finished our first IVF cycle, so I'm still very new to this whole process. I had my blastocyst transfer on Monday (8/15/05). My husband has been giving me intramuscular progesterone shots every day since the day after my retrieval. A couple of days ago, I noticed that the pockets of my hips were sore. It feels like the outside of my hips are bruised, but I don't see any black & blues. Has anyone else experienced this with the progestorone in oil shots? Should I be concerned about this, or is this just a common side effect? Is there a remedy? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a bunch :blush1:!!

Completely normal for PIO shots.

Try warming the oil in your hand before loading the syringe - maybe hold it in your fist for 5 minutes. After the shot, try massaging the hip for 3-4 minutes. Also you can sit on a heating pad set to low - that will help distribute the oil and reduce the pocket in the muscle. Good luck!!!

Thank you so much, Suzi. It is comforting to know that this is normal. I was starting to get worried. And thanks for the well wishes. I go in on Wednesday for THE TEST!! I'm so anxious!!
