Does anyone buy Janie and Jack? Some of the themes are similar to Gymboree but instead of doing cowboys for a western theme Janie and Jack does armadillos. The regular priced clothes are expensive but the new lines go on sale so fast there's no reason to pay full price. Once Christopher grows past a 4T I'll have to find another favorite store.

We're getting one in the mall here in Dec.

Janie and Jack and Gymboree are owned by the same company.
I LOVE Janie and Jack and shop there pretty often. I usually get all of Lauren's Holiday dresses from there.. I have been know to pay full price if I REALLY love something! Their fall lines are GREAT this year.. which is good because I am not liking Gymboree's fall lines.

I love Janie and Jack, but sadly, Katie has outgrown it. :( Some of my favorite outfits for her as a baby were from Janie and Jack, and I got them SO cheap because I got them on sale!

I loved the girls holiday line last year. I have the black velvet dress and the cardigan sitting in our closet for next christmas (I hope, it might not fit till the next year) but I still need the hat....there is one on e-bay right now, but it is 6-12 months and I need whatever size encompasses 3t...I think that is 2t-4t or sometihng like that.

Oooh! I just noticed that the new line goes to a 5T. Katie could probably squeeze into that! Her height and weight fit the guidelines (last time I weighed/measured her) but I don't know about her other measurements. I'll have to check! I love that sweater dress!

The Sweet Confetti line that is out now is so cute. I always love their fabrics and special embroidery touches.
Supposedly they start out their line designs at Janie and Jack and then they trickle down to Gymboree. I have seen that happen, but not always - and sometimes I like the Gymbo designs better, such as the Days of Yesteryear line which was definitely cuter at Gymbo.

Just bought Caleb a short/shirt set on sale for next summer and am trying to convince myself of the myriad reasons I don't need to buy him these shoes:http://www.gymbohaven.com/jjskie57.jpg

They just opened one in a nearby mall. I'm trying my hardest not to go in there. My wallet can barely handle my Gymbo addiction.

I didn't know Gymoboree and Janie and Jack were owned by the same company. I thought they had similar designs because they were trying to be competitive.
I met a sales girl today that said she always gets in trouble for telling people when the new lines go on sale. That is fantastic! (for me ) So today I bought I bought some shirts from the California Cruisin' line

you should definite just go and try it on her, janie and jack runs HUGE...I know janelle is tiny, but not that tiny, she wore the french country wrap dress and cardigain in 6-12 months yeasterday, and it fits great, if not a little to big.

They have a sale twice a year called the Season Finale sale that really is pretty good and for some reason the janie and jack in one town seems to always have smaller sizes left and the one in the other town always has bigger sizes, so I can usually find everything by this point. Other than that they mark down clothes at 20% then 40% etc. They sometimes run sales for labour day/4th of july/etc but not very often. They definitely have nothing like the red hot dot sale or gymbucks or anything.

Well, I'll be able to go September 21st. They probably won't be having any sales then, but I'll be sure to check!

They have good sales but you have to move fast on what you like because the size you need may not be there by the time you get there. You can also try their website.

We did go try it on yesterday, and the 5T fits with room to spare! Supposedly, the newer lines are going on sale on Thursday (but the newest one, Lavendar Fields, which is the only one that comes in a 5T, might not...). I'm going back on Thursday, though, to check. I tried the sweater dress on her, and LOVE it. And I also love the knit cardigan and cargo pants, and both velour yoga sets...

Good Job! I have that sweater and the black dress that Janelle can hopefully wear next christmas, I loved that line. Our Janie and Jack actually STILL has the red dress from this like in 4t so I'm considering buying it too to put away, or re-sell, whichever. :blush1:

Not in love with London Town boys either. It doesn't get cold enough in Georgia to wear most of those clothes anyways. I do like the California Cruisin' shirts.

I got some cute stuff for cheap at Janie and Jack today! I've been thinking about getting these online but didn't want to pay for shipping. Found everything I needed at the 3rd Janie and Jack store that I visited this week. We're going to Asia in November and I needed some warm weather clothes. I couldn't find anything at Gap.
I really loved California Cruisin' too but we need the vaca clothes first!

We're going to Hong Kong then DH and I are going to Kyoto (leaving the kids in Hong Kong for the weekend with my sister). Then we go back to Hong Kong for a couple of days then we all fly to Manila. I'm buying all these clothes and DH said - we're really only going to be there for 2 weeks- our kids will have to change 5x a day to use all this stuff you're buying.

I've been having the same issue, I love the jumper but the skirt is so cute too! I think that while you can get away with the jumpers you should because the skirt looks more big girl to me. That will be a great Thanksgiving outfit, I'm thinking of using them as a Chirstmasy outfit since they've got the red going on and I got Baby Lulu Autumn Leaves outfits for Thanksgiving.
Dori

That's what I was thinking Nicole. I was sorta thinking Christmas too..
so you know that black and white outfit I won on ebay from Janie and Jack.. do you think I could pull that off for Thanksgiving? I need to use it for something special and I think it is more christmas than thanksgiving BUT I would prefer a dress for thanksgiving.
So, more questions for you! ;)
Nicole
August 21st, 2005, 11:45 AM
That outfit looks more Christmasy to me so I'd probably go with the London Town for Thanksgiving and the black set for Christmas. I get to have at least 2 Christmas outfits since we do so many different family gatherings so I'm happy I have an excuse to buy so many!!

I love, love, love the first one! I want that for Katie, too, but I can't justify buying it until it goes on sale, unfortunately. The second one is really cute, too, but I agree with Nicole that it's more *big girl*, and I'd do the jumper while you still can. I'm totally loving London Town, too! And Lavendar Skies....

Nicole.. I noticed you're in California..right? Where in California?..I'm there too. Do you go to the Janie & Jack in Sherman Oaks? Haven't been to it (usually buy online instead) but I'm wondering if its a decent size store or not, as some of those stores down there are soo small, I'd rather just shop of the net. I like you am in love with London Town... might have to get the stuff while DH is shopping for something expensive too, then I could really justify it! Also I looked at your beach pictures.. adorable! Your girls are cute! My daughter is almost 2 and bald like your little one! I also thought I'd mention that pretty soon I'm going to be putting alot of Baby Lulu on ebay, not sure when though... and the stuff would probably fit your younger one and it's all in great condition! (on ebay McMahonAM) Just thought I'd let ya know! Take care!

We live in central CA, no Janie and Jack nearby. I only buy online or on ebay. Thanks for the heads up on the Baby Lulu stuff, we have 5 outfits for this fall/winter already so I may be done shopping for Baby Lulu for this year!
