View Full Version : I consider myself lucky because...
Stacy February 1st, 2004, 04:29 PM my 22 month old son has never had a diaper blow-out.
Is there something that your child has or hasn't done that makes you feel lucky?
It can be anything.
Hilary February 1st, 2004, 04:45 PM OMG! You are lucky!! No fair.
I consider myself lucky, because Madelynn was a really good baby.
Brooke February 1st, 2004, 04:47 PM I consider myself lucky that Rebekah has never thrown up anything other than formula.
mcox February 1st, 2004, 04:58 PM I consider myself lucky that Olivia has been sleeping through the night since she was 5 weeks old. She also just puts herself to sleep by herself without having to be rocked.

Dennis February 1st, 2004, 05:31 PM Joe is 26 months and I've never been sprayed. I've also never been sprayed by Frances (6 months).
We're also lucky because Joe is a great sleeper - he still sleeps 12 hours at night and takes a 3 hour nap.

kalynnsmom February 1st, 2004, 06:38 PM Kalynn slept through the night a little before 3 months and she's never had an ear infection or any major sickness other than a cold!
Barb February 1st, 2004, 06:38 PM I consider myself lucky that Rebekah has never thrown up anything other than formula.
Same with my little Liam. :)
Shanna February 1st, 2004, 06:53 PM I consider myself lucky because all three of my kids are happy, healthy, well-adjusted kids :)
Marcella February 1st, 2004, 08:18 PM I consider myself lucky because Amelia is such a good baby with a wonderful temperament - always smiling and laughing. She sleeps through the night and is a good napper. She is really such a joy!
Shel February 1st, 2004, 09:00 PM Let me just say I hate all of you have said they've never had a blow out diaper, never been sprayed, never cleaned up vomit and have great sleepers. May you all get a paper cut tomorrow

olcott February 1st, 2004, 10:00 PM Let me just say I hate all of you have said they've never had a blow out diaper, never been sprayed, never cleaned up vomit and have great sleepers. May you all get a paper cut tomorrow
I was thinking the same thing!! I've dealt with ALL of those things in the past two days
Nocona February 1st, 2004, 10:11 PM I consider myself lucky because Matthew's always been a great sleeper, is always happy, picks up on new things very quickly and is just hilarious. I'm sure my luck is running out!
Karri February 1st, 2004, 10:18 PM I consider myself lucky b/c Aidan has never puked (other than spitting up).
I consider myself lucky that my OB caught my preterm labor early and I was able to keep my babies in for another month and that they were born healthy (as far as their gestational age is concerned) and that Norah still hasnt shown any signs of her grade 3 IVH affecting her
TtownAnne February 1st, 2004, 11:01 PM I consider myself lucky that Caroline is not a biter, either of me or of any of her friends. That has such a HUGE stigma among our little people! And I consider myself lucky that she loves to read; we're to the point now where she doesn't want me to read to her, but she wants to "read" to me - "Piggy gets capake, put on syrup, get sticky! Go take a bath with ducky", etc., etc.
Lette February 2nd, 2004, 08:37 AM I'm actually afraid to type what I'm lucky for, for fear that it will happen sometime in the near future. ... ie.. puking, biting, sleeping.
Regarding reading.. Lexie also loves to read books and now she wants me to read a book beside her... "Your book mommy!"
Now, we shall see what my son delivers in the future!
SarahK February 2nd, 2004, 10:01 AM I consider myself lucky to be blessed by a healthy, happy, wonderful baby girl--especially after our infertility difficulties.
JillMelissa February 2nd, 2004, 10:24 AM I consider myself lucky because Emily turned out to not be the hideous, screaming, crying monster that she was as a newborn! And also that she's grown out of her reflux and that we were able to get her off of Zantac without any trouble. Oh, and that she sleeps all night, every night. Love that!
areb February 2nd, 2004, 10:33 AM I consider myself lucky, because i have a very good baby.
mommyLil February 2nd, 2004, 01:54 PM I consider myself lucky because my son shows me every day how much he loves me with his gigantic smiles and how he calms down and cuddles with every evening.
AahRee February 2nd, 2004, 06:52 PM I consider myself lucky because my daughter likes to share - she's never gotten mad when another child has taken the toy she has away. (I'm guessing this may change someday, but for now... I'm lucky!)
Amy February 2nd, 2004, 07:57 PM I'm very lucky because Emily has been a very even tempered baby ever since she was born. She loves giving huge hugs in the morning when she wakes up, and cuddling while we read her bedtime story at night. I'm very lucky that she made it through her first year without any ear infections. Most of all, I'm very lucky that she is my daughter!!
Eva February 3rd, 2004, 02:01 AM I consider myself lucky since I have a healthy happy baby who sleeps through the night.
EricaMG February 3rd, 2004, 08:41 AM I consider myself lucky because my older son Adam is always very happy, understands and laughs at my (silly) jokes, and is a good eater.
I consider myself lucky because my younger son, Jared, was born perfectly healthy at 35 weeks gestation.
I also consider myself lucky that despite fertility issues (PCOS and male factor infertility) we managed to have Jared without any intervention.

Jennie February 3rd, 2004, 04:18 PM I consider myself lucky that my children are all alive. We were told that we would be lucky to have the twins survive to a delivery, even at 28 weeks which they did. We were told that Matt wouldn't survive the night at 48 hrs of age and he did. We were told that Andrew would like be blind/deaf or a vegetable at 28 days of age and he a happy, reasonably well adjusted child who is walking with a walker, goes down the stairs by himself, pulls himself to standing (this is his newest milestone at 59 mths of age!!), talks like a mad man, etc.
And I'm lucky enough to have been blessed with a wonderful 3rd child who has made me realize how truly difficult raising the twins was and how easy a baby can be.
LisaBelle February 4th, 2004, 02:27 PM I consider myself lucky because we conceived our daughter on our first month of trying. She is a very good, healthy baby who only cries when she needs something and is sleeping from 3-6 hours at a time at night at only 4+ weeks old.
~Tara~ February 7th, 2004, 07:00 PM I consider myself lucky because:
~ We conceived Abby on our first month of TTC
~ I had an easy pregnancy
~ After a grueling labor and delivery via c-section Abby was a healthy baby and I recovered very quickly
~ I have a wonderful DH who is such a phenomenal and involved father
~ Abby is an amazing toddler who is happy (95% of the time...the other 5% well thats just the fun toddler stuff), healthy and well adjusted.
~ Abby slept through the night (12 hours) at 6 months and has been doing that ever since. (until tonight probably because I wrote this down...lol)
LoriS February 8th, 2004, 11:23 PM I just feel so lucky to be a Mommy to two beautiful and healthy little girls.
LisaE February 9th, 2004, 02:06 PM I consider myself lucky because although I was expecting a baby girl I was blessed with the most wonderful lovable son!!
I also consider myself lucky because although I have to work, I have family that takes care of my son and for that I am eternally grateful!
happysmileylady February 15th, 2004, 03:49 PM I consider myself lucky that Caiti is so well behaved.
Dawn February 16th, 2004, 12:26 AM Is there something that your child has or hasn't done that makes you feel lucky?
I feel lucky because Alexia has NEVER:
-thrown up
- bit, hit or anything like that to us.
I feel lucky because Alexia IS:
- very, very much into reading. She's a lil' book worm....whether we read them or she reads them alone. :)
- Exceptionally smart for her age! One example is she knows every single letter of the alphabet! She is starting to "read" by pointing to and naming the letters she sees in her books, at the store signs, while we're driving, on cereal boxes, on t-shirts, etc...it's so amazing! :)
- She's a very good sleeper (thank goodness...she had ALOT of making up to do for all them sleepless nights when she was a newborn! )
- A well-behaved child for her age and is always so happy! Everyone comments on her well-behaved and happy behaviour when out in public or at family/friend's houses.
**But all in all, we are so lucky to have her in our lives, period. Whether she's into books or not, whether she knows the alphabet or not, whether she can jump yet or not, etc.....she's ours and always will be. She has brought much joy to our lives. :)
Stacy February 28th, 2004, 08:50 AM my 22 month old son has never had a diaper blow-out.
Is there something that your child has or hasn't done that makes you feel lucky?
It can be anything.
:tear: :dead: He just had the grossest diaper in diaper history.
redhairedgirl February 28th, 2004, 02:11 PM I consider myself lucky to be blessed by a healthy, happy, wonderful baby girl--especially after our infertility difficulties.
Amen! Except I not only had infertility difficulties, but two prior miscarriages and I was blessed with a boy.
I consider myself lucky that Aiden is here since it took him two minutes to take that first breath....
... and that he has not shown any signs of hearing loss or other difficulties, even though we were told he just may due to his arrival.

LeslieC February 28th, 2004, 02:17 PM I feel lucky that despite 4 months of bedrest Richie is super big and healthy! And even though he's allergic to milk and soy formulas, he hasn't had a problem with ANY of the solid foods he's eaten!! And he's such a great baby! Hardly ever cries, sleeps through the night since 9 weeks and he's so darn CUTE!!
As for my older son, I feel lucky that at 12, he still thinks I'm cool! He's super strong, tall and healthy, only broke his leg once and is hardly ever sick!! And he's so handsome!!!
Denise February 28th, 2004, 10:42 PM I consider myself lucky because Nicholas is such a good baby with a wonderful temperment! Loves everyone and is always smiling and laughing! :)
Theresa February 29th, 2004, 06:45 AM I feel lucky that I get to be a SAHM. While there are days that I wish I could drop them off somewhere and just get away, I wouldn't trade being home with them for anything! :)
Bobbie February 29th, 2004, 07:13 PM Aside from having an amazing, healthy girl...I feel lucky that I've never had a reason to change the sheets in the middle of the night. :aok: Knocking on wood...
ArtsyMom March 6th, 2004, 09:58 AM I feel lucky that our little darling has changed my life for the better. Even with the sleepless nights (well, not sleepless but he still wakes up twice a night at least...) he is a very happy, healthy and beautiful boy.
