Btw - kick me if I am annoying you... but has your Dh has a swimmer test done? Also - did you ovulate during the past 12 cycles on Clomid (were your cycles regular) ?

Chantal - Shane has had the swimmers tested and everything came back fine except some white blood cells which were then taken care of with some antibiotics. I did not ever O on my 50, 100 or 150 mg. clomid cycles. I did get + OPK's for my 200 cycle and the past two 250 mg cycles. And, you aren't bugging me at all!

I did OPK yesterday and had a very dark second line. Needless to say :sex:fest July is still on! ;) No rest for dh for the next 3 days. Hell he's not complaining!!

OPKs never work for me. Plus, I forget that I am holding it for so many hours and then go to the bathroom.

I check CM, cervix :blush1: , and temp. Clomid also narrows my window!

MamaGoofy

This is the first time I have used them correctly. I forgot that you are on Clomid. I heard that Clomid and OPK's aren't really a good mix..:dunno:

We both like the spontaneity (sp?) of :sex: so when TTC :sex: comes around we both are like Ugh! I tried to hide it from him this time so that he would feel I was being spontaneous but had to break down and tell him.

We've been trying since May/June 2004 so this whole thing is getting old!

OPK's SUCK for women using Clomid... because you dont always ovulate on clomid - if the doseage isnt right, or for whatever reason  yet your body WILL still produce and LH surge, because of the developing follicles. The lack of actual release of the eggie is what causes women on Clomid to sometimes hyperstimulate.

At least, thats how my specialist painted it for me. He said to avoid OPK's when on Clomid.

I never even bothered checking my CM either. Clomid dried that up pretty good  However - the clincher this cycle that I conceived... I FIRMLY believe it was because of the low dose aspirin that I was taking to thicken my lining. Not too much will sway me from that idea. I had 2 other ovulatory cycles on Clomid... Dh and I bd'd PERFECTLY on time... temps rose accordingly... Progesterone blood test showed SUPER high numbers (meaning fantastic ovulation happened)... yet I NEVER conceived. This cycle - I added the Aspirin...and BINGO... baby on the way :)

JennyB
July 19th, 2005, 08:19 PM
I took a low dose aspirin when I was pregnant back in March. If I get BFN I might try that next cycle. Since I am 2 DPO today, is it too late to start for this cycle?

No - apparently you should start it right after ovulation... so 2 DPO is not too late :) Clomid wreaks HAVOC on the uterine lining.

Well, I got crosshairs this morning. Yippee! When I first looked at the thermometer I thought it said 97.11 which would have been bad. I was like, What! Then I looked at it again, 97.71. Whew....that is much better. All right.....just gotta wait it out now.

We have been TTC since October 2003 with a m/c in April 2004 and back to TTC in June '04. It's been a crappy 2 years but I know in my heart it will happen. Your DH is normal. It's not as fun when you "have" to do it. Thanks for the luck. I sure could use it. ;)

Shannon, thanks for asking. :) I'm feeling "OK". So trying not to get my hopes up, but my bbs were VERY sore this morning. But that could be nothing seeing as I just stopped morning nursing a little over a month ago. My cycle was short last month (I think about 24 days), so it could be AF seeing as today is CD 24. Still debating on when to test. I'll probably wait until after Tuesday since that's when AF *should* arrive. We'll see.

Darcy - Crossing everything!

We had a good news/bad news kind of day yesterday. I went for another u/s to check on the kiddos. The good news is that we have ONE healthy baby measuring exactly on dates with a good heartrate. The bad news is we lost Twin A. I guess vanishing twin syndrome is very common but we weren't prepared at all.

Amanda, I'm not sure since I'm not temping or charting. This cycle is longer than the last one (24 days), but I had just stopped morning nursing, so I'm sure that threw my cycle off. I'm on CD27 today, so my guess is probably around 12-14 DPO. I'm not testing until Thursday, though. (That's what the hubby and I decided.)

Jenny, when are you testing?

JennyB
July 28th, 2005, 03:14 PM
Tomorrow morning but I am not going to be upset if it is negative because it will only be 12 DPO. I had a little bit of spotting yesterday so I am PRAYING it was implantation spotting. I have prayed that when I do get pregnant that I have implantation spotting so that I won't be so scared about having another ectopic. I am hoping he heard me. Plus, with only spotting yesterday I could have just implanted at 10 DPO so maybe it won't show up. UGH! I am driving myself crazy! I am sure I will know something for sure by the end of the weekend. Fingers crossed for you jenny, I didn't get implantations spotting with my first 2 pregnancies but i did with this one.. I also spotted again when AF was due, and then a week later, hence me not thinking I was pregnant till well into week 7! I hope this is what you experienced yesterday good luck... I will be back to check! :hug1:

Well, it was a BFN girls! But I am not giving up hope yet. If I implanted late it may just be too early. My temp was completely out of whack this morning. I don't know if it was because I am feeling so sick or what. I am feeling horrible. My throat and head hurt so bad. I took my temp with a regular thermometer right after I used my BBT thermometer and my regular temp was only 99.0 so I don't know that I should discard today's temp on my chart or not. It really jumped. I used my VIP privileges over at FF so hopefully they will give me an answer.

Maybe tomorrow.....tomorrow is my birthday so maybe I will get a really nice present. BFP! BBs are still pretty sore and temps still look good so we will see.

Jenny - your chart looks great, very similar to your last chart. And a sore throat can be a sign of pregnancy. I had one that started the day I tested + and then last for about 3 days.

Last time you didn't get a + until 13 dpo, right? Give it a couple more days. Like you said, maybe tomorrow!

JennyB

Brooke - You are smarter than I. It just occured to me this morning to even look and see when I tested positive last time. DUH!!! I am definitely not throwing in the towel.

FF suggested I throw out the temp. It looked really odd with the rest of my temps so I agree. It just sucks because I really wanted to know what it looked like. Oh well.

I am going to try and rest today.

Called the nurse and she said they normally tell people to wait until CD35 to test when taking clomid. (She obviously doesn't know me very well.) Anyway, I told her that my chart looks just like my ectopic chart but I can't get a BFP on any tests. She said that just because it looks like my ectopic chart it could be just a regular pregnancy chart (which I knew). She did take pity on me and faxed over orders for bloodwork and sent them STAT so I should know something this afternoon. She also said if they come back negative that that doesn't necessarily mean it is negative, it was just too early to test. If I go another week and wouldn't have a cycle she would test again.:crossfing

Jenny - I took femara my last cycle (but had to add injections b/c I didn't have a good response - but I did get pregnant so that's something). You take it like clomid. I took it cd3-7 and then had a sono cd8 to check follicles. I know several women who failed clomid who had success with femara.

I entered my temp this morning....and FF decided that I O'd on CD13!! :wtf: I have NEVER had a cycle that short....although I've never had a cycle as long as last time.....so I'm pretty skeptical. Plus, I've had fertile CM for the past 2 weeks....pretty much every day, and my temps are still all over the place! How in the heck did FF decide that I O'd? I don't think I've O'd yet, and I'm looking for some other opinions. :) Thanks!

JennyB

Jenny - Thanks for having a look.... My chart the past couple of cycles has been SO frustrating! This cycle is a little more defined than the previous one. I just hope I O before CD31.....I really don't want another 45 day cycle. :(
We're doing the same thing - we starting BD'ing every other day starting on CD10. :aok: Some nights it's a little exhausting because we've had a long day.....but I think Paul is wanting a longer break than 48 hours. It's funny....pre-marriage, we did it EVERY day :woo: and now we're exhausted doing it every other day for a couple of weeks. I don't know if that makes us old or just parents.....

I sent my chart over and talked to the doc. She said my chart looked really good and it looks like things just didn't connect this time.

I talked to her a little bit about how emotional I have been and she basically said that clomid is making me ovulate which is creating PMS and I don't normally ovulate so I don't typically get PMS. She asked if it was a combination of having that and a bad month and I told her it probably was. We decided I would try it again. I think a lot of it was the unknown that was driving me crazy. I think my last chart taught me quite a bit. Knowledge is power so hopefully I will have a better month, even if it ends up with BFN.

I am holding everyone to this....don't let me test until day 35!! I am counting on you guys!

I also talked to her about how I think FF was off on my ovulation date. She said that FF is nice if you have nice normal cycles because they are using data for nonmedicated cycles but when you take clomid everything seems to happen a little bit later. I told her I think I ovulated later and she said even if I did she isn't too concerned with our timing. Of course, it is always best to have more occurrences on there but if you are going to be earlier or later it is better to be earlier. If you are BDing after ovulation, YOU TOO LATE! She said sperm can live up to 5 days! I guess we all know this anyway thanks to Chantal! :)

 and she is VERY right on that one :) I hope this is your cycle! I completely agree with everything your Dr told you about charting when on Clomid. I typically would ovulate on CD 18 or 19 and rarely had any EWCM. However, this cycle threw all of that out the window

Btw ---- just a side note.... both times I conceived.... Dh and I had 1 day right near O where we had sex in the morning and again in the late afternoon/evening. This time - it was the last day we had sex... 5 days before I ovulated. Maybe theres something to be said about the Morning Swimmers ;)

FF moved my O date to CD22 instead! :aok: However...they've put my coverline at 97.7, which seems kinda high. We'll see what happens! At least I don't have to take my thermometer camping and I don't have to worry about AF while we're gone. :woo:

We are going to do a lot more BDing this time around. I only chart because my doc has requested I do so. I think she just likes to make sure I am BDing at the right time. When Dori is on clomid her doc does not have her chart. His theory is that if you get a period, then you ovulated. I think it just depends on the doctor. I don't mind charting. I am control freak so I like to watch my temps. (It can also drive me to be a little nutso though!)

I actually liked to chart, too. My last cycle I was charting even though I took injections and an HCG trigger shot. The day after my IUI my temp was still low and I FREAKED out. We left for Texas early that morning and my husband actually called my RE's office from Texas to ask about the low temp. They laughed and said they didn't know what to say b/c they had NEVER had anyone take temps during a monitored cycle. (PS I got PG that cycle anyway!)

I have to chart, too. I'm a control freak and I need to know what's going on.

I *think* short LPs are bad because the egg doesn't have adequate time to implant. But I'm not sure.

Darcy
August 9th, 2005, 01:13 PM
I charted while trying to get pg with Riley. I was getting so obsessed with my temp and it was stressing me out, so DH hid the thermometer. The next month I got pg. And this pg was a surprise. I know charting works for some people, but I'm glad I stopped.

 yep, that's exactly why a short LP is not good - I am on Clomid for that very reason - because it also helps extend the LP - even though I O quite happily on my own. Now, I just need to remember bonk like a mad thing in the next week and we should actually be in with a shot this month....excuse the pun:blush:

Shannon~hooray for FF finally coming to its senses! It often gives me higher coverlines than I expect too, and am never quite sure why that is...

I used to know all this stuff but now I have forgotten - so I have to ask:

I used OPK on Tuesday - definately "negative."

Used one this morning - definately equal colored lines, thus "positive."

So, that means I had not O'ed as of the time I took the test, right? Hopefully, if we BD tonight, tomorrow and next day (maybe day after that also!) that the timing should be right, right? Unless I O some time today, then I will have missed it.

I am going to go and buy some more OPK and use one in the morning and see what it tells me. If it is still "positive" that will help my frame of mind.

TIA!

Sandy

JennyB

You are right. If you BD tonight you should be okay. OPKs never work for me but that is how I understand them to work.

Dori

Well, AF never showed.. which was good for vacation but I still had a BFN today.. Ya know, not having a period means NOTHING to me because I rarely have flippin period that isn't medication induced.. I hated even taking that stupid test today because I KNEW it was going to be negative. Grr...

And yes, as my sister said.. I cannot chart. I get way too stressed out, I never wake up at the same time. I tried setting an alarm but then I would wake up and by the time I charted and did everything I was wide awake and ticked.. it was too much for me.. For me, I just prefer to take the meds, frock every other night and test on CD 35. I never ovulate anyway..

Chantal

Dori :( bummer about the annovulatory :( I too have had my fair share of those :(

Sandy... OPK's never worked for me with the PCOS/Clomid issues... but I understand that from the day OF the positive OPK result... you should have MAJOR :sex: for at least the next 3-4 days... the eggie could take as long as 3 days to come... and I always say throw in an extra day post-O just in case you ovulated later than expected. Ya just never know with those eggies :)

Sandy, butting in with a late (and probably not needed at this point) piece of information. You are right about OPKs...according to what I read in the instructions, once you get a positive, it is indicative of the hormone surge, which means you are likely to ovulate within the next 24-72 hours. Lots of BDing (every day) is a good idea, because as Chantal pointed out, you never know about them, eggies...and the little guys can survive up to 4-5 days (though most live 2-3), so boinking even after your expected O date is a good idea just in case. I believe I missed a couple of cycles b/c I went by the O date FF gave me and the OPK timeline, and then my O date got moved, and none of the little guys made it, by then...

Hope this helps...

mmmm... so I take clomid since January and NEVER have a period.. I STOP clomid altogether and have two periods back to back. My last cycle was around 60 days and this one was 45 days??? Jenny,
You can go ahead and take me off the list. I am going to "relax" on the TTC and try and stay away from this section for a while. Good luck to all of you. I'll let ya know when my bfp comes around!! Thank you for all of your support the past few months. I really appreciate it.

Melissa,

Good luck. Anyone feel lucky this cycle? I think we are due for a :bfp:

JennyB
August 25th, 2005, 11:10 PM
I don't!!! I ovulated out of my left side and I don't have a left tube. Hopefully either the clomid forced eggs out of both ovaries or my egg floated over to the right tube. Either way, I don't think this will be our month.

Crud Jenny!! :( You never know....I'm still hopeful for you. :)

I'm feeling lucky this cycle!! :awink: Of course, I'm still spotting from AF, so I've still got a way to go.

I think AF is finally starting to let up today. That was one of the heaviest cycles I have ever had. Ugh! I agree, we are DUE some BFP's in this group!!!

Shannon, I'm keeping all crossables crossed!!

Jenny, I agree, we're definitely due to see some BFPs around here soon!

This cycle is well and truly out for me - no BDing means that the chances of conceiving are pretty damn slim:lol:. And since I think I'm probably a doubtful candidate for immaculate conception, I'd have some serious explaining to do if AF didn't arrive early next week!!! I am however feeling confident and more optimistic about next cycle!

Thanks Deb! I haven't found anyone that is feeling overly optimistic about this cycle but that is usually when it happens....when you least expect it.

I am amazed at my chart as well. It is so weird. This cycle my temp shot up and is hovering around 97.9 or so. It's a bit weird as I am usually a slow riser but it still doesn't look too different. I know....I am probably the only one that notices since I am one to overanalyze my chart.

Tell me about it! I was finatical, I read into every dip and rise when I was TTC with my first. and I must say it was the month that had something slightly different although generally the same but slightly different that only I noticed that was my successful one!... I hope that happens for you jenny! my fingers are crossed.

Think I have definitely O'd. DH and I got to BD last night so might catch the eggie. But can't help feeling that we might have missed it.

Jenny, am intrigued how you know which ovary ovulated. can you actually feel it happening?

JennyB
August 30th, 2005, 07:07 AM
Yes. Since I am on clomid it feels like someone is using them as a punching bag. It hurt on my right side last month and my left side this month. I am hoping an egg snuck out on the right side too though. I talked to my doc about it and she said that she has had two of her babies were clomid babies and she experienced the same thing.

It's good that you can feel it happening, reassuring in many ways, despite the pain! Fingers crossed you got one on your right side too!!

I really must start charting again so I can figure out what's going on. I stopped cos my thermometer wasn't working but now got a a new one. The only problem is, like everyone says, you can't help obsessing about it!

JennyB
August 30th, 2005, 09:43 AM
Yea, I tend to ovulate late on clomid so just as I start to get discouraged I start feeling pain. As much as it is uncomfortable I am actually excited when it is happening.

After what I put myself through last cycle, I think I have been much better this cycle. I tend to be a control freak about certain things so I like to temp so that I know exactly what is going on.

I hope that you can temp and keep your sanity! :silly:

lizziebeth
August 30th, 2005, 09:55 AM
I temped for quite a while just to check I was definitely ovulating. That was pretty interesting cos I wasn't properly TTCing at the time so I could just marvel at how it all works! But now I guess it is a whole different ballgame.

Well I reckon you can put me down as 1DPO as all the signs are that it happened yesterday.

Well I hope you both don't have to worry about that at all and use your time celebrating some good news!

Jenny your chart is still looking fabulously triphasic to me.. but well you don't need me to tell you that, I am sure you are going  waiting!... when do you plan to test? will you wait past 14 dpo?

JennyB
September 1st, 2005, 11:20 PM
I promised myself that I would wait until 14 DPO to test but DHs birthday is on Sunday so I may test then just in case I could give him a big surprise for his birthday. I am not sure though. I haven't bought a test and I don't know if I will. I don't handle only seeing one line very well. I got a BFP at 12 DPO with my ectopic so I would hope it wouldn't be too early but judging by last month's chart I have a long luteal phase so it may be too soon. We'll see. I still am not putting a lot of hope into this cycle. My chart looks just like last months chart and look where that got me!

Well, after 14 months of trying, 4 rounds of clomid, and one ectopic pregnancy I would like to announce that I am

PREGNANT!!!

I woke up this morning at 4:00 am and decided I had been asleep long enough so I took a test and it came back positive. I couldn't believe it. So, of course, I can't go back to sleep now. I was going to wrap it and give it to DH for his birthday but I couldn't wait so I woke him up. He said COOL and went back to sleep! Men!

It is a long weekend so I won't be able to start getting my beta checked until Tuesday but that's okay.

I was so sure that this cycle was out. I love it when I am wrong.
