View Full Version : Questions
Karly June 2nd, 2005, 09:11 AM What sort of odd questions has your child been asking lately? Tyrus seems to be full of wonder recently.
These are the most recent he's asked:
-What are zippers made of?
-Is there a tree under our house?
-Where did Alexis come from? ( )
-Where do eggs come from?
-Where does toast come from? (both while eating breakfast this morning  )
TtownAnne June 2nd, 2005, 09:15 AM Caroline asked this morning:
What's inside the walls?
Brookamy June 2nd, 2005, 09:50 AM Whenever Lindsey sees a big truck on the road she always has to ask..."Momma, who is in that truck?" Not cars, just BIG trucks. :dunno:
Dennis June 2nd, 2005, 09:51 AM Joe asked a lot of "where does xxx come from?" yesterday - waffles, peas, oatmeal, some other. This morning the big question was "Where does Zardo Zap live?" He always wants to know where everyone lives.
Brooke June 2nd, 2005, 09:58 AM Is the baby still in your belly, Mommy?
She always wants to know everyone's names. And me saying "I don't know" isn't good enough. She starts saying "Tell me!" so I end up making up names for strangers. :dunno:
She also asks if everything is hot or cold.
Dennis June 2nd, 2005, 09:59 AM Joe wants to know everyone's names as well. "What's her name?"
Eleanor June 2nd, 2005, 10:03 AM She always wants to know everyone's names. And me saying "I don't know" isn't good enough. She starts saying "Tell me!" so I end up making up names for strangers. :dunno:
Isabelle goes through phases where she does this too, and it drives me nuts (especially since she's got a memory like a steel trap when she wants to, and if it's someone we see on a semi-regular basis (like people who are leaving a class at the Y as we are entering), she'll remember if I change the name...and she also has started to question why everyone is named "Mary" or "Steve" or whatever name I'm stuck on at the moment
Her big thing now is "why?"
A conversation yesterday""Why did you pick me up at daycare?" "Why do we want to go home?" "Why do we live there?" "Why do my friend's mommy's and daddy's pick them up?" "Why do they want to see them?" "Why do they love them?" and so on...
Karri June 2nd, 2005, 10:11 AM EVERYTHING is "who bought it?", followed by, "where did it come from?" . EVERYTHING.
Lady E June 2nd, 2005, 11:07 AM EVERYTHING is "who bought it?", followed by, "where did it come from?" . EVERYTHING.
I get this all the time too, especially from Jada.
MamaGoofy June 2nd, 2005, 11:17 AM David wants to know who everyone is and where they are going. He doesn't except that I just don't know everyone and their business. This is not limited to people..it includes animals big or small. Sometimes I make up things. Other times I tell him that momma just doesn't know everyone and everything. He can ask them their name if he wants to (like if we are in a store). He wants to know why to everything. Why do we ride in a car? Why are we driving? Why am I turning? Why am I wearing a green shirt? Red is his favorite color and everyone should wear red every day.
TtownAnne June 2nd, 2005, 11:29 PM Karly, did you call Caroline and tell her about this post? :errr: Today ALONE she has gone completely around the bend with wierd questions!
Why does the car have tires?
How do they build a store?
How did that car get into BJs? (they are having a raffle/drawing for a new car that is showcased in the store)
Why does the house have an attic?
Where does the water come from before it's in the sink?
Mary June 3rd, 2005, 10:45 PM We had a power outage tonight and apparently our neighbor across the street, who is in a wheelchair, got stuck in her basement with no elevator. The firemen came to help her. So we heard from Joe:
Why is she stuck?
Why don't her legs work?
Are the firemen hurting her?
Why is the power out?
Where did the power go?
When will the men come to our house? (he thought they had to come to the house to turn the power on)
Why is she stuck?
Why is she in the basement?
Why doesn't the elevator work?
With the hail and rain tonight we got:
Where does the ice come from?
Why is it raining?
Why is there ice on the ground?
and on and on and on and on
Mary
Theresa June 4th, 2005, 12:16 PM Ellie's not really a big question asker. If something happens, she usually makes up her own explanation for it. She did go through a phase where she had to know if everyone was a boy or a girl. That was kind of fun.
