We're just beginning PTing Aaron. He's no where near close to being trained but we're working on it a little bit.
As he was sitting on his potty seat tonight I was remembering that MIL said that she would put Cheerios in the toilet for my DH to aim at when he was training. So now I'm wondering at what age do you start teaching them to pee standing up?

We haven't been teaching it at all and Joe is doing it on his own. He just sees me doing it and the other boys at daycare. I actually prefer it when he sits because it's not as messy, but whatever gets him to use the potty is fine with me.

Aidan always refused to sit so we just taught him to stand. I'm assuming we'll do the same for Colin.

Jordan picked it up from school. Now he will never go sitting down. It works for me, especially in public bathrooms

Joshua just started doing it one day. He always followed my dad,dh and my brother into the washroom so I guess he wanted to be like them:dunno:

He sat in the early stages, but stands now...he just did it on his own. Very few messes too!

Our bigger problem w/ Aidan - who's been pee PT'd for about 8 months now - is that he's now getting lazy and decides he only needs to open the toilet lid enough to get his business done. His aim has been great, but this challenge he's set for himself is tending to make an icky mess from time to time. Since he doesn't tell us when he goes, I just find this out if I happen to catch him/notice dribble. :dead:

At home Cameron refuses to go standing up, but out in public he refuses to sit down. What ever it takes for him to go, I don't care....

My mom did buy him some toliet targets, but it didn't interest him.

We always ask Aidan if he wants to stand like daddy, but he says, "nooooo!" I figure he'll do it in due time. In the meantime, less mess!

Matthew just started doing it right away too. He never did really well sitting down. Fine with me!

Justin ALWAYS went sitting down and then one day he saw/realized that his daddy stood up and he wouldn't go any other way ever since.

It is self taught, they will do what the big guys do. My boys really trained themselves, oldest trained himself before he was 2. We used to go on a trip every 6 months so he saw daddy going into the mens room at a rest stop thought it was cool and has been doing it ever since. The others just followed suit.
