I have determined after watching my daughter for weeks now that she is lefthanded. Both dh and I are righties. How can we help out left handed daughter master things like tying her shoes, writing and so on?

I will ask my dad - he was a leftie, but he was the one that taught me to tie my shoes!

For tying my shoes I had to use the make two loops and tie them together method. Also sometimes (especially with things like sewing) if you will face her because sometimes kids do things the way they see you do it. For example if she sees you using your right hand she might use her right but if you are across from her she will think she is using the same hand. I hope that made sense. I think most things will come naturally though.

I am left handed and I don't remember having any problems learning anything. In my mind, I do everything the same as right handers only with my left hand  I really never have noticed a difference. Good luck :)

DH & SIL are both lefties and their parents are both righties. They didn't do anything extra special to teach them things. In fact DH is quite ambidextrous so I think it helped :)
