View Full Version : For those with boys....
Theresa May 6th, 2005, 01:59 PM Please forgive me if this is a totally stupid question, but I've never had to take care of little boys before, so everything is new. Anyway, the last couple days, Ian has awoken from his nap with an erection. I know boys get them, but I didn't think he would this young. He's 18 months. Is this normal? Should I be worried?
I know it's probaby a dumb question, but I really don't know.
~Andrea~ May 6th, 2005, 02:06 PM it's normal.
Alyssa May 6th, 2005, 02:08 PM I know it's happened to Aidan and Colin before.
Karri May 6th, 2005, 02:11 PM Yep. Normal.

gulp! May 6th, 2005, 03:16 PM Yep, Krishan's had them a few times when I've gone to change his diaper.
MamaGoofy May 6th, 2005, 03:20 PM Totally normal!!
Bev May 7th, 2005, 05:02 PM Perfectly normal. Now you need to have a response for when he notices it.
My girlfriend's boy said (at about 3.5 or 4) "Look Mom! My penis is up!" She didn't know what to say, so followed her husband's lead and said, "Don't think about it and it will go down again."
stass May 7th, 2005, 05:09 PM Morning wood. Totally normal.
bunybomb May 7th, 2005, 09:53 PM Morning wood. Totally normal.
:lol2: Happens on numerous occassions at our house and I'm not even talking about my DH!
Karri May 8th, 2005, 11:42 AM There are times that Aidan will be taking a bath and be laying on his stomach and declare, "mommy - my penis hurts." which means he's got an erection (or as my husband puts it, he's "sportin' wood" ). Ah...the joys of boys  I just tell him to not lay on his tummy for a bit and it'll feel better in a few minutes .
Susan May 8th, 2005, 02:10 PM I have seen it with Josiah too. DH said its because he's getting ready to pee. Or maybe just did. Who knows if that's right, but I suspect he'd know the reason better than I would!
Nanley May 9th, 2005, 01:40 AM I, too, will chime in and say that it's totally normal. Seems to be at random diaper changes that I see it.
Jillian May 9th, 2005, 12:41 PM It's normal...Caid's been getting them since like 3 months old.
Theresa May 9th, 2005, 12:42 PM I figured it was normal, but I was totally NOT expecting it at this age. I'm SO not ready to deal with a boy!
