What do you do when your kids have outgrown their shoes? Save them to pass down to the next kid? Donate them? Sell them or toss them?

Some of Avery's sneakers have seen better days, because they were her only pair of shoes for 4 months at a time. Will people really want these if I donate them or should I just toss them? I tend to toss my worn out sneakers...who'd want them?

What do you do?

I keep the ones in good conditions and Robeez (which seem to do well) for baby #2, The really cheapy ones that are falling apart I will just throw out.

I pretty much save everything of Caroline's, and when the time comes, if it won't work, I'll give it to Goodwill or if I know someone who can use it, give it to them. A lot of Caroline's shoes are in great shape, and they are stored, but Courtney looks like she won't have a wide foot, so now they'll be saved for baby #3... If it is totally trashed, I'll toss it, but you never know, your junk is someone else's treasure sometimes.

I keep all of Madelynn's and so far with Ava I've actually sold a couple of pairs on ebay. I'm embarressed to admit that Ava has like 15 pairs of shoes, so they don't get a lot of wear. Madelynn is almost as bad, she probably has 10 pair. I LOVE shoes!

If they're really beat up, I throw them away.
If there's still some wear left, I donate them.
If they're barely worn and a good brand, I sell them on eBay.

Depends. Tennis shoes - I don't like to reuse them, but if they are in good condition, I'll put them in a garage sale or give them to Goodwill. Sandals - might pass them on to someone. If they are in great condition, I may give them to a friend or sell them. I have a boy and a girl so I won't save anything.

We toss them for them usually... But the kids only wear robeez for the most part, and while I've seen used robeez go for a ton on e-bay I've always heard used shoes are bad for developing feet, so I don't even bother.

Beat up get thrown away or donated and anything that is still in good condition is saved for subsequent children.

Beat up get thrown away. Anything that is still in good ondition is saved, or if I saved it and never used it with Colin, I did give some away assuming I wouldn't use it for #3 either.

Jillian's right about developing feet - the test for this is if you reach into the shoes and can feel the imprint of the previous wearer's toes, then they shouldn't be used for anyone else.

First I'll see if they will fit my nieces if not they get donated :)

Beat up get tossed. The other ones that were worn less frequently and are in good condition, I save for subsequent kids.

I saved all of Ashton's for Alexis. Most likey I will be tossing them after Alexis wears them. Good shoes [like mary janes for the holidays] I will try to sell.

I havent decided what I will do with the Stride Rite's that Genavieve just outgrew. They are in really good condition. I will either donate them to Eastside Baby Corner where my FIL volunteers or try to sell them here or on Ebay.

This is so me! I think Maggie probably has over ten pairs of shoes right now! She also has a shoe addiction- when we see the shoe department of a sotre she goes "Shoes! Shoes!"

As for what I do with them, I will save them for subsequent children and then I will either sell them at garage sales or on ebay, really bad shape ones will get tossed.

Another shoe lover here. Alexia has tons of shoes right now. I just counted and she has 11 pairs (not counting her water shoes  ). :blush1: Her shoes wear very well (takes after her Mamma...I'm always cleaning them up too) and I have them saved for Angelina. There are maybe a couple pairs that need to be tossed due to the fact that she wears them alot more.

Julian is really rough on shoes, doesn't matter if it's cheapy or Stride Rite. He's got some that he's actually worn holes in the toes (leather tennis shoes)! So when he outgrows his shoes, I pitch 'em - there's no life left by the time he gets done with them.
