Hi everyone! Today is CD 2 for me  I start taking the ever wonderful Clomid tonight. :badwords: I am currently under the influence of drugs... Provera that is ;) causing me to be an :angrywife

Oh well - it's going to be this way until almost the last week of April. I am due to ovulate around the 24th - 25th... and my blood test day will be May 2nd, with my HPT day being maybe on Mothers day, IF my blood test shows that I have ovulated.

I am not getting all riled up over this cycle - as I didnt loose as much weight as I wanted to... and I guess I am just tired of always getting my hopes up over nothing. :)

MamaGoofy
April 8th, 2005, 02:12 PM

Good Luck again Melissa, I'll be as jealous as anything but so happy for you :crossfing

Lets talk Luteal Phases, currently my luteal phase is 12/13 days is that long enough?

I was going to try BD ever other day this cycle, usually I O anywhere from CD16-18 so when do think we should get busy :awink:

MamaGoofy
April 8th, 2005, 03:54 PM
Now is a good time!! Seriously, I am the absolute wrong person to ask. I just figured out what LP was. Good luck and have fun.
Thanks for the good luck. I think it's actually going to take a miracle for it to be true this month.

schwanda
April 8th, 2005, 08:47 PM
Melissa - I'm crossing all crossables!
Suzanne - That's probably fine. Enjoy the BD fest!
Chantal - Wow! I didn't realize you were back in the game already! COOL! I hope the clomid works for you.

I leave for Chicago on Sunday so this cycle was likely a bust. I'm not sure if I should get a provera prescription or just keep waiting it out.

Unless my temps take a sudden turn upwards this cycle is done. I am just waiting for AF to show. I feel her pains...Oddly enough I am ok with this.

Amanda and Melissa :hug99:

Nothing happening here... still waiting for the phonecall about a job offer for Dh :(

If he does get the job - and I dont get preg this cycle... we will be putting ttc on hold until we move, and I get a job/or get my daycare running up there. THEN we will return to ttc again. I think that it's more likely that I will find work outside the home and put Kaitlyn in daycare/Montessori.

Anyhow... not that any of this has to to with ttc'ing

Suzanne ~ my LP is 13-14 days. So I dont think that 12-13 days is too short. But then again, LP is not something that has ever come up with my specialist, as he seemed fine with a 13-14 LP length.

Irish Luck
April 9th, 2005, 03:50 PM
Thanks for the input everyone, I did some reading on FF last night and I think my LP is fine. Clutching at straws as I want this to be 'THE' cycle we conceive then baby would be due on DH's birthday.

Melissa - Sorry about the temp drop.
Chantal - Sounds like you have alot going on!
Suzanne - That would be cool!

No news... My temp went up a bit today but I think that was due to a screwy sleep and not anything exciting.

I had one done in February and it wasn't at all bad. I was on the tail end of AF (a little spotting) and I was fine with just a pad. I also didn't experience the cramping everyone warned me about. It could have been the 800mg. IB I took or the fact that I rarely, if ever, get cramps during AF. :dunno: Just bring a pad (or a few) and maybe some wipes to clean up (they gave me something, but I don't know if every place does.

FF gave me an O on Sunday. So I'm now 3DPO. We BD'ed late Sat night so I guess there's still a chance...

Amanda - fingers crossed for you.

Has anyone ever tried a saliva microscope to predict O? I tried one (on the cycle before last) but I only got ferning 5 days before ovulation and nothing else. Kinda confused me. Can any of you shed any light on this? Am I doing it wrong?

April 13th, 2005, 07:09 PM
Lizzie - I used a saliva microscope for one cycle. I think it was confusing because you can't really see the whole thing. I did see alot of partial ferning but very little full ferning. And I know I o'd because I got pregnant.

Maybe if I used it for more than one cycle it would have become less confusing.

~Andrea~

Dori, how many days past O will you be on Thursday?

I don't have a clue! I quit temping and charting because then I think about it too much and stress out. So we just have sex as often as possible and hope for the best. I tested this morning and it was a BFN. I am losing a little hope. The tendnerness in my breasts is gone.. so we shall see.

Dori, don't lose hope yet...BFN could turn into a BFP:nod:

When I charted on Fertility Friend, it was really quite simple.....and I did temp at different times of the morning...sometines 6:30, sometimes 9.....it still detects a pattern pretty good.. But if you don't want to do it, then wait as long as you can ( I know I know much easier said than done) to test..

Good luck Nocona!
Dori - Fingers crossed!
Jolene - Hooray for O!

I have no idea what's going on with me. My temps are all of the place but I'm starting to question my thermometer. My 1st temp this morning was 96.8. I got up and did a few things (nothing strenous) and re-check it and it was 97.98. I know that the 2nd temp doesn't count but I find it hard to believe that my temp went up that much in a short period of time?

Amanda

Dori
April 19th, 2005, 04:02 PM
Amanda - that is one of the reasons I quit temping.. because my temp seemed to be everywhere. And I bought a BBT thinking that would be more accurate. I would take it and it would be 97 and then take it 10 minutes later and it would be like 98.2. So I gave up.

Well, thank you for all the prayers and luck everyone! I appreciate it. I feel more tenderness this afternoon and I am so so tired. I should wait as long as possible to test because when I was prego with Lauren it took a little longer than normal for me hormone level to rise. My sister had the same problem. Just trying to stay optimistic.

I am predicting that O is going to happen in the next 48 hours. Mittelshmertz have happened effective an hour ago :dead: I do believe that I am going to ovulate out of my right ovary - which is the ovary that I successfully ovulated from back in October. :crossfing that I pop out a good solid strong eggie and Dh's swimmers can make their way to her.

I think I will O earlier than usual... If I go by old charts - I should expect O to happen on Sunday... however - with it being Wednesday today and I am getting the ovulation pains already... I suspect that O will happen by Friday. that Dh can come around and appeal to me soon

Fingers crossed Chantal!

I need advice. According to FF I'm 10DPO. I'm not sure I believe that completely. My temps have been all over the place and I kinda think it's my thermometer (it's a BBT but a cheapy store brand one and I've noticed wild fluctuations even if I take my temp twice in a row). I'm not even sure I O'ed at all. It would be strange for me to get AF without Oing unless I take provera (I don't think that's ever happened - I'm more likely to go months without AF). Since Sunday I've had strange AF-like cramping. I've also had faint spotting. Sorry for TMI but it's like having a small amt of blood in my CM rather than spotting. Of course, I want to be PG so I keep hoping this is all a good sign (but past history would make that unlikely). I don't want to test and get another BFN. I'm going to a new RE on May 2nd. I'm also driving myself completely crazy. I've started wearing pads b/c I keep thinking AF is coming but then nothing.
Should I just test? But what do I do if it's BFN? Do I keep testing until I drive myself even more crazy? Should I wait a few more days to test? Not test at all until May 2nd?

Amanda

Chantal
April 20th, 2005, 02:16 PM
Amanda... I say wait another couple of days, and then test. It's better to know if its bfp or not - than have to continue stewing over it... kwim? :hug99:

FF has given me coverline and O days on both of my most recent annovulatory cycles - which TOTALLY sucked :( I see that your temps fluctuate pretty good, other than the 3 temps post Fertility Friend O-date. Maybe your body tried to ovulate, but an eggie wasnt actually released? At least, thats what happened with me -- my body tried, I got my + OPK's but no O really happened.

INFERTILITY SUCKS!

Thanks Chantal! My temps have really been all over the place and not helped at all by my travelling to Chicago for a week and keeping weird hours. The strange thing is that I've never had this weird spotting before so I'm not sure what that's all about. I suspect this is just a long anovulatory cycle but I have O'ed this late before....

Chantal, good luck!!!! Happy BDing :brow:

Amanda, tough call on testing....it's one of those things-you drive yourself crazy not testing, but if you test too early, disappointment, too....I would say wait as long as you can....but easier said than done, i know.... I would agree with Chantal, make yourself wait at least a couple of days, and then test if you must..............

Hi Amanda.
You possibly could have O'd on CD31, there seems to be a slight change in how erratic your temps are from that point on, but it's so hard to tell. Maybe waiting is the best idea so you don't waste a test. :dunno: Good luck on May 2!

:wavey: Morning everyone!

The most interesting thing happened to me last night... yesterday I started getting twinges in my right ovary - so I figured my right ovary is going to be the "egg blaster" this cycle. Well, last night I had reflexology done -- and the therapist said that he could "feel more" in my right ankle (area where the ovary is affected) and REALLY worked on that spot for a while! I had him double over in laughter when I begged him to just spend the next 45minutes working on that spot on both feet  (left and right ovaries ;) )

We discussed my infertility problem - he said he would be interested in meeting with me for a consult for naturopathic treatment if I dont get pregnant this cycle. He figures it's the acne treatments I had as a teen that have led to my IF issues. Also, he told me that my weight is NOT as big a factor as it's being made out to be... that I am just causing myself unnecessary stress by worrying about loosing weight to conceive. He told me he is not trying to say that the Doctors are idiots... he actually was impressed by how they have been treating my PCOS and all... but he feels that I would benefit from using natural remidies, in addition to my Clomid treatment. If this cycle is a bust (which I hope its not) I am CERTAINLY going to jump on board with this guy... cause at this point - I am willing to try ANYTHING to get pregnant that doesnt involve needles and more drugs ;)

I go back in 2 weeks for a neck/shoulder/back massage... HEAVEN! The therapist was surprised at how "stiff" everything is in my neck. I am not surprised by that, as I suffer from VERY frequent headaches, esp tension ones

Anyhow... hopefully the ankle rubs will help my eggie show up this cycle ;) :crossfing

Thanks Brooke! Maybe I'll have my progesterone taken (an advantage to working at a hospital) and then see. If my progesterone is low, I didn't O and I might as well start provera soon (it takes about a week to get the blood results anyway). If my progesterone is high, I'll wait to test.
I'm realizing that I'm letting the TTCing stress ruin my life and my happiness so I'm going to try to take a more mellow view of things.

Dori... I conceived with no problems on my 3rd cycle of 100mg of Clomid. Even the 2nd cycle at 100mg, I ovulated - but we missed the eggie. This time... its been 5 cycles - and I only ovulated on the 2nd cycle... at a 100mg dose spread over 8 days, instead of 5. :duh: :grr:

Mittelshmerz is done... thank GOD - cause last night I could swear that an 18 wheeler had parked itself on my ovaries.

NOW, this friday is my progesterone blood test... it will determine for sure if I suffered for a good reason or not. If it shows that I have been annovulatory AGAIN - then I am going to request that my specialist do an ultrasound when I am having those ovary pains - just to see what is really happening in there. It's beginning to really piss me off.

So - for now... I just  that my temps start to rise and I can get an O day from FF and Ovusoft. Not that I put much faith in either of them - given that my last 2 annovulatory cycles - they said I ovulated, and I didnt. Oh well... I would, however, like to see my temps SHOOT right up :) Then I would know without much doubt what took place ;) Dh and I have managed to cover our :sex: bases very well this time around too ;)

Well, I tested this morning. Being the patient person I am, I took it, nothing happened for a minute so I went and ate breakfast. I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I came back 20 minutes later and there was a 2nd line. So, I don't know weather it appeared within the 10 minute window or is an evap line! Grrr! I don't know much about evap line, do they happen within 20 minutes of the test or do they take longer to appear? Guess i'll have to wait until tommorow to know the truth!

Chantal
April 25th, 2005, 08:02 AM
Well... both ovusoft AND fertility friend have me down as ovulating on Friday. Eh... I am not about to start laying bets on that just yet - as my post-o temps are pretty mellow. I need to see the temp rise by another .2C to feel more comfy about all of this - esp given that my 2 annovulatory cycles were both deemed "ovulatory" by those programs - only because my temp did rise a smidge... but not enough to get all hyped over. Kwim? SO... onto tomorrow mornings temperature ;) Been there, done that so many times now - that I am desensitized to it all.

Kelly - I would just retest. If it is a bfp - then you should see that 2nd line within the time frame noted on the package. Good luck!!!!

Well I went to the doctor yesterday and got 150mg of clomid and provera. We leave for Ireland for the summer on Friday so I am waiting until we get over there and see DH flying schedule before I start the provera. I want to make sure he doesn't have any week long trips away or something. He very rarely does, like once every six months, but I don't want to take the chance. So I guess you can put me down as "in limbo"!! ;) My dr. said he will go up to 200mg.. but my sister said the makers of clomid don't suggest that??? Anybody have any words of wisdom????

Chantal
April 27th, 2005, 09:49 AM
Dori... my specialist said that he doesnt go over 100mg. However, he does lenghthen the time you take it. Right now, I take 100mg for 8 days instead of 5. But if in 4 months I am not pregnant - I am done with Clomid altogether. :(

Good luck :)

Thanks for the the insight ladies!! I don't think I will go over 150... if it doesn't work this month I will just try that for a few months. He said when I get back from Ireland in September I can try the shots if I still need to. Let's hope I don't!!

Dori - I have heard from other ladies, that the injectibles are much less harsh than the Clomid, in the way of side effects. Hopefully, you won't need them though :)

As for me... :woo: I hit 37.0C this morning! Talk about a temp rise in the last few days  that it means a :bfp: on Mothers Day ;) Also, I am anxious to get the results back from Dr Reid on Monday - just to see how "big" my ovulation was... ie: possible multi-egg release :faint:

 :jump2: :crossfing

Blood test this morning - results TBA Monday morning sometime :) I am pretty confident that I have ovulated, now to get that Progesterone level result back to see how great I ovulated :crossfing

It's the WEIRDEST thing... this cycle... I feel alot of "symptoms" but they arent exciting me. I could very easily get really excited about everything that is going on - but I am calm. TOTALLY not like me  Usually I would be freaking out. But I guess, seeing that constant rise in temp has been reassuring enough, that I dont need the other symptoms to make me realize that my body FINALLY has done what it is meant to do - ovulate. Thats the other thing - I am more focused on just ovulating this cycle... than worrying about whether or not I am pregnant. Crazy eh?

Lyshoka: Hope to join your miserable state soon ;)

Amanda and Marcy: Thanks :)

Jolene: GREAT looking chart :) I see that you are at 13dpo and last cycle your temp had dropped by this DPO - but not this time ;) GOOD LUCK!

Chantal~thanks, I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof!!! I think the Clomid has resulted in enough progesterone to extend my luteal phase, and now I'm just hoping that that means something else is happening thereabouts instead! I got a BFN today, so am hoping if my temps are still reasonable on Sunday I'll test again....of course, that would mean holding out tomorrow.....

Blood test DONE! I might call my specialist late this afternoon and see if just MAYBE the results came in ;) His office is in the same hospital as the blood lab where I have my test done. All the information is put into a database as soon as the lab completes the test. :wavey: HI everyone...

I managed to get my blood test results in... I wont post the whole whacky story here as I managed to hijack a thread in the Feb 2002 and earlier thread with the gory details  Anyhow, suffice it to say that I managed to learn that my Progesterone level was a nice 62.3 :) Confirming ovulation :woo:

I have decided that test day will be on Saturday - not Sunday, Mothers day. I think that its best to test a day earlier in case I get a :bfn: then I can spend the day wallowing in misery BEFORE I spend Mothers Day with Kaitlyn. (Dh has to go into work that day, around noonish  ).

Its funny cause even though I got great results from the Dr's office - I am still very calm and reserved about this cycle. I think that it's due in great part to the fact that I have been more focused on wanting my body to WORK and ovulate, than worrying about getting pregnant. Kwim? Dont get me wrong... I obviously WANT to see a :bfp: next weekend... but I am calmed by the fact that I had a beautiful and strong ovulation this cycle :) after having suffered 3 annovulatory outcomes last fall and early winter.

Btw... my specialist looks for a level of 15 or greater to confirm ovulation... my level represents what a "normal woman" should be at in about her 4th month of pregnancy ;) All this means, is that my chances of having an early m/c due to progesterone deficiency, are lessened :)

CRAZINESS. My phone just rang... it was Dr Reids nurse  She said that Dr Reid asked her to call me and confirm that YES I DID ovulate at a level of 62.4  She also said that he wants me to wait till CD 40 (meaning NEXT weekend) to take an HPT. I told her that AF is due on Saturday, given that my LP is always 15 days on a Clomid cycle -- so she said "I dont blame you if you cant wait till next weekend." Then she told me to call the office Monday morning right away, if I get a BFP - so they can get in a requisition for a blood draw to check HCG.

GREAT news Chantal!
Erica - Fingers crossed!

The good news is that I had a GREAT appt today! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this new doctor! And for many of the same reasons that I had problems with my old place. He totally believes in individualizing care. You're not just on some protocol. He makes ALL the decisions about your cycle. And he had several question marks about some of the things that were done to me in the past (the same ones I had, too). He's willing to work around my schedule, too. His office staff is nice and friendly. It's also a bit closer to work than the old place.
Here's the plan: I'm starting femara on CD 3 (Wednesday night). I take femara CD 3-7. Monday I go in for a sono. If I'm not making adequate follicles, we'll add injections. Then I'll do a trigger shot and an IUI.
I'm actually feeling positive about this!

 Temp dipped this morning. I adjusted my 2 low temps from the other day - as I did take the temp 40min earlier than usual... so I added .1C. I feel stupid adjusting my temps :( It looks a bit better - but I am stil confused by this morning's temp. I slept well - the only difference is that I was wearing a nightshirt, and last night I had 2pc pyjamas on. Planning on wearing a nightshirt till the end of this cycle :screwy: otherwise I am going to :banghead: with every AM temp.

My chart still looks good...and I am VERY proud of myself... I fought with the idea of testing this morning --- but resisted ;) Still not 100% confident in what I am seeing. Sounds but my last ovulatory chart was "textbook" for pregnancy - and well... we all remember that one... temp dove on the day AF was due (15 DPO). :mope: Don't need to have a repeat of that letdown ;)

Amanda... from how he described it to me... it's more effective than Clomid - as it completely blocks the estrogen in your system... versus the Clomid that just reduces the estrogen levels. Estrogen affects ovulation.

I would but my LP is usually 14-15 days and I don't want to see a bfn!! KWIM? I am staying strong!!!

DITTO that one!!!! word for word :) My lp is ALWAYS 15 days when I ovulate. My last ovulatory cycle - well I was SO SURE that it was going to end up being :bfp: ... had all the textbook temps, even went triphasic. Then on my 15th DPO - WHAM... temp hit rock bottom and AF started that evening. So - really and truly, I am not ready to test before I see my 15 DPO temp. :)

I changed my test day to Monday... sorry  But you see, I have ALWAYS ovulated on CD 18... always when on Clomid. So - with that, and the fact that Ovusoft is determined that my O day wasnt till CD 18... I decided to shift my O day at FF to reflect the same chart. Less crap to have on my mind yanno ;) and this way... I can enjoy Mothers Day weekend too ;) Yeah, I am :screwy:, I know ;)

Also, *if* I have just had implantation happen... isn't it best to wait a few days post implantation to test anyhow? I just dont want to jump the gun and get a :bfn: and have one more thing on my mind to stew about :)

This chart has been the most wonky one post O. The soaring temp... the up and down after my soaring temp peaked... Its just all too weird. Weird enough for me to hold back on being confident in it. Oh well... many years of letdowns make me this way.

Oh and also.... IF implantation occured yesterday with that dip... there wont be enough HCG in my blood to read on a test anyhow at this point... still need to wait a few days ;)

An egg is normally fertilized by a sperm cell in a fallopian tube (http://javascript<b></b>:AddNavBar('../health_guide_atoz/stf124085.asp');). Within nine days after fertilization (http://javascript<b></b>:PopupLink('../health_guide_atoz/tp13143.asp');)http://a876.g.akamai.net/7/876/1448/v00001/images.webmd.com/images/hw/media64/interface/camera.gif</IMG> (http://javascript<b></b>:PopupLink('../health_guide_atoz/tp13143.asp');), the fertilized egg moves down the fallopian tube into the uterus and attaches (implants) to the uterine wall. Once the fertilized egg implants, the developing placenta begins releasing hCG into your blood. Some hCG also gets passed in your urine. HCG can be detected in the blood before the first missed menstrual period, as early as six days after implantation.

I am really confused with this cycle. I thought AF was on her way but the small amount of spotting was only on the TP once. I took a PT out of curiosity at work and it was a BFN, I don't have any PG symptoms so I guess AF is taking her time getting here this cycle. In the back of my mind though is the cycle I got PG with Dylan and how it took a very long time to show up a BFP. If AF hasn't shown in a week then I will go for a blood test

Kaitlyn graced us with her presence and HOUR before my normal temp time... I managed not to move and fall halfway back to sleep and temp 30min earlier than usual... temp went down :(

So, in my absolutely pissed off state... I go to the bathroom, take an HPT... "just to get rid of it" and well, within the 5 min timeframe... the absolute lightest, faintest of 2nd lines appear :faint: NOW -- DO NOT (please) start offering me up congratulations or anything like that. I will NOT retest until Monday... but given what my temps are doing... I have little confidence in what this cycle is going to bring me in the way of great news.

It has been 20 min since I took the FRER/hpt - and the line is barely visible. I doubt it is an evap line because it showed up before the max time limit for reading the stick, (appeared within the first 2 minutes). So... if anything, please  and :crossfing for my HPT on Monday to be more clear.

I am getting sharp pains in my uterus area... I don't know if it's because I was so fricken upset and pissed off at seeing my temp go down or what. But like I said - retest on Monday ONLY.

Chantal
May 7th, 2005, 07:46 AM
1hr later... line has vanished. Any input? I am thinking that it's not going to happen this cycle. I know you dont read a test after 10min... but the line is not supposed to dissappear, right?

fading line on FRER = shitty test and bfn.

My plan for next cycle - should Af appear on Tuesday.

Not looking good... went to the bathroom earlier today and wiped this big blob of mucousy reddish brown discharge :( I havent had anything since... so I dont know. I am crampy - but not the usual AF style cramps. BUT, with the combination of temps, BFN's, bloody discharge, cramps... I think it's best to begin accepting that :bat: has unpacked her suitcase here for a few days.

NOW - the REALLY sucky part... for my fertile time for this upcoming cycle - I will be OUT OF TOWN :faint: :banghead: So, I guess my next lucky (hopefully) cycle wont be until June. Unless by some small miracle, DH's swimmers are strong. I dont know what happened to them this cycle... other than he was taking codeine for a backache the week prior to O.

I dunno... :help:

Edited to add:

Naw, Its official... :bat: is here. However, CD 1 wont be till tomorrow.

So my next *fertile window* starts the day I get back from my trip to visit my family this month *wiping brow* WHEW... so we wont miss it afterall ;)

Then my test day will be on my Mom's birthday - June 9th.

Again, I will NOT be charting/temping this cycle. I WILL call Dr Reid for a blood test on CD 24 again - but will NOT want the results until after June 9th... IF I even need them then ;)

Melissa, Chantal, I'm sorry.

Can someone look at my chart for me? http://www2.fertilityfriend.com/home/88d9d This is my first cycle on Clomid so I don't have anything to compare it to. It shows CD18, but I had the huge rise on CD17. Is it because the rise on CD17 is not above the previous 6 temps?

Brooke
May 7th, 2005, 11:31 PM
Marcy - FF is probably saying CD18 because of the wet CM you recorded. But the dashed lines means FF isn't totally certain of your O date. I think CD16 is a definite possibility. What happens if you change the wet CM to creamy?

I tend to have fertile CM after O alot so I usually had to fool FF by recording creamy then putting the wet or EW in the notes section.

marcy
