How and when did you teach your son to stand up to pee? What made you decide it was time to teach him?
When we are out and about, Tyrus seems to pee through the seats for some reason. I've tried to explain to him to push his penis down so that it squirts down into the toilet, but he doesn't always get that, and a lot of times we end up mopping the floor after he's done since it comes through the seat.
Is it time to teach him to stand to pee?

Joe learned on his own, probably from the other boys at daycare, so I don't know how to go about teaching it. Maybe you can have Daddy try to teach him, since he can provide the example. :)

Justin saw his daddy pee standing up very early on in the potty-training process and it helped him a great deal to go standing up so he has been ever since (going back 4-6 months). Before he started standing, Justin would go on the potty and it had the little blocker thingie to make sure he was aimed downward. If we were out, then I would hold his penis down to help him out. But standing up has been best; he actually trained hisself after that because he wanted "pee like my daddy".

Aidan never sat to pee, he learned standing. I'm assuming because he watched Joe. Until recently, aiming was never a problem either - he knew/learned to hold down his penis and go. Now, he's more comfortable with the process and getting lazy which is leading to messy peeing.

Matthew started sitting but didn't like it. Now he stands and does so much better.
His friend Andy sits and they've just taught him to push his penis down.
