I don't actully sit in a cubicle but I have an office set up exactly like a cubicle and as I was sitting in my cubicle like office today the thought occured to me. In a cubicle you are generally facing the corner, does that mean we have been sent to the corner for punishment at work!?:rotflmao:
Ok, that was a total random thought. I'm just not into work today.

I never thought about it, but in my cube I face the corner. I hate that because sometimes when people want to talk to me about something, they just stand at the entrance to my cube (which I'm not facing!) and just wait for me to notice them. Creeps me out because I'm usually not expecting someone to just be standing there. Facing the corner is also distracting because I turn around every freaking time that someone walks by, which is a horribly distracting reflex to have.

I know some people that have stuck little mirrors to their computer monitor to see people trying to sneak up on them.
We don't have real cubes where I work, because we're pretty open and like to be able to communicate with each other. We sit in "pods" of 8 work centers/desks that are completely open, but have low outer walls (high enough to give you space to hang things, but you can stand up and see over them).

I work in a true cube farm and yes, I face the corner. I also have a mirror so people can't sneak up on me.

Ours are more like Nichole was describing except there are only 2 desks to a Pod and there are higher walls on one side. And I do face the corner in mine too.
