I guess I'll follow JenM's wonderful format for when she started this last year. ;) I just added an additional 2 questions. :)
Here's our journal, ladies :)
I know we've done this before.. but lets start by answering some questions and introducing ourselves:
1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! )
2) How long have you been a SAHM?
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job?
4) What does DH/SO do?
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day?
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal?

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...) I'm Shel. Married to David for 5 1/2 years. We have 4 kids: Kaleb 12 and Jacob 9 (from my first marriage) Riley, 3 and Owen 4 months.
2) How long have you been a SAHM? I stayed at home with Kaleb and until Jacob was 2, then went to work until Riley was born, stayed home with her until she was 18 months (working some from home), and then worked until August when I was very sick while pregnant with Owen.
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I was a small business accountant. I worked some from home and some at clients' offices.
4) What does DH/SO do? He works for Quaker/Gatorade/Pepsi etc.
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? Considering I'm homeschooling the older boys, that's my main priority. Keeping everyone fed is the other :lol: I try to get a little laundry and dishes done everyday. Other than that, it's a free for all. My goal is to try and start doing one other project a day instead of killing my self to do 18 things at once because someone is coming over. My other goal is to dump my excess baby weight by summer, which means at some point I need to find some time to exercise :rolleyes:
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? Keep me motivated!

2) How long have you been a SAHM? Since December 6, 2000 - was taken out of work due to swelling, and Caroline was born *unexpectedly* the following morning!
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do? n/a
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? legal secretary

6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? Well, it's not as though I don't know everyone since just about before we were thinking of having babies, so it's another place to hang out!

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...) ETA: Feel free to post pics!
I'm Dawn (soon to be 32!) and I'm married to James (32). We will be married for 4 years this June 9th. We have 2 beautiful daughters: Alexia Marie just turned 3 on March 25th and Angelina Nicole just turned 4 mos. on March 26th
I don't have recent pics cuz I'm the biggest slacker when it comes to downloading pics off the camera to the computer, but.....
here's Alexia a couple mos. ago:

2) How long have you been a SAHM?
I've been a SAHM since Alexia was born (well, actually 6 wks. before sh
e was born)
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
N/A
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job?
I was an Executive Assistant. I worked for the President of a very large waste management company (think Sopranos :lol: ) for 7 yrs.
4) What does DH/SO do? .
He's a Union Ironworker.
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day?
My priorities each day are first my 2 girls, making sure they are of course taken care of...not only as in being fed, etc., but doing activities and playing with them...things like that.
As far as chores & errands, I keep a running list of things I need to do during the week...it includes big projects around the house, phone calls that have to be made, places I need to go (return something, buy something, pick something up, etc.). Of course I tackle the really important things first that MUST get done, followed by big cleaning that needs to get done at the house. Everyday I minimally make sure that the kitchen is always clean, and things are picked up so it doesn't look so bad to the eye (god forbid of pop up visitors). As long as this is done, I feel ok. The basic everyday cleaning does not get included on my list...it's usually a given. I really don't do daily lists, and part of it is because I hate the feeling of not accomplishing anything off of it if I couldn't get around to doing it. So by doing a weekly one I feel that more things are crossed off by the time the end of the week comes. :lol: If I can get ALOT of things crossed off my list come Friday, I'm a happy woman! :biggrin: James goes back to work on Monday (after taking off almost 2 mos!) so I have no choice but to get my priorities in order (James home=Dawn gets lazy :blush: ) :lol:
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal?
Like Shel said, MOTIVATION! I can be the WORST procrastinator in the world! I need some girls to kick me in the butt, so to speak! :lol: I also feel that it will be nice to 'hang' with other Mammas who are home during the day as well (especially since I'm not in any playgroups IRL). I feel sharing our to-do lists, our vents of what our days are like, or anything else will be really nice for both support and motivation!!!

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! )
I'm Carla, married to Mark. We've been married since August 2000 and have two adorable kids. Ethan is almost 3 (May 6, 2002) and Shaylee is 7.5 months old (August 13, 2004)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0903/bwylde/march2005004.jpg
2) How long have you been a SAHM?
I've been SAH for just over 3 years.
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job?
I was a cashier.
4) What does DH/SO do?
He's a cashier.
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day?
My priorities are to get through the day without having several nervous breakdowns :lol: . I also try to make sure the house is moderately clean (more for saftey's sake) and laundry is done. It's so hard to keep up with everything when you have two kids fighting over you all day, so anything that gets done is a huge sucess (when I have free time I like to spend it on the computer or scrapbooking; I need some down time to keep sane). I think I need more motivation to get out of the house and keep things cleaner though.
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal?
I hope to get support, motivation, a place where others are going through the same things and, like last time, a place to make goals where I am somewhat accountable to try to keep them.
Carla
March 30th, 2005, 09:00 AM
After I went to do something else, I realized I didn't put my top priorotiy :slap: . The kids are my number one priority. That's why it's so hard to get anything done as I'm spending all my time with them. I had written something to that effect, but accidently erased it.
I am so tired. Shaylee would not sleep last night. I don't know how I'm going to get through the day. When she finally slept (After Mark took her out for a while around 6am), Ethan was up. I sure hope the kids want to nap today.
Today, I want to get the dishes done, do some laundry (some is washing now, I just have to hang it out) and keep the living room somewhat tidy.
Today was playgroup day, but we couldn't get ourselves together early enough to go and make it worth our while. I wish we could get ourselves together a little better.

Carla, OMG, we're in the same boat. Angelina hardly slept last night too! I'm so tired myself. Try to take it easy today (i know easier said than done). :bighug:
Angelina is teething like crazy, and Tylenol don't help (that's why she's been up). I have to ask her Dr. about trying something else that will work better. She's sleeping now, TG, but I have to leave soon to pick Alexia up from preschool.
Well, it's going to be like 60 degrees out today SO I'll have Alexia spend some time outside. I know she's wanting to ride her motorized Barbie Jeep! It's been raining so she couldn't. While she's doing that and I can still keep an eye on her, I think I'm going to clean the inside of my car. :nod:
As far as doing things in the house, my main thing for today is laundry. I forgot I have a load of the girls' clothes sitting in the wash from yesterday, so I have to run it through again. Then I'll try to do another 2 or 3 loads more. There is always laundry to be done around here! :disbelief:
That's pretty much it for today, besides my everyday kitchen cleaning and picking up, etc. :)
Have a good day everyone! :wavey:
Shel
March 30th, 2005, 09:36 AM
Owen didn't sleep well either. And it didn't help that I had the 2 older ones had a friend stay over last night and they stayed up until 2AM!! Of course, it's 10:30 and they are still sleeping and I've been up since 5 :rolleyes:
It's going to be 72 here today, so we are going outside. During naptime I need to get my kitchen floor swept thanks to Riley throwing cupcake around. I have a little laundry to fold and put away (I have to do laundry everyday. That sucks!) I did all of our errands yesterday so I can stay home today. I really want to scrapbook today, but we'll see how that goes.

Ian hasn't slept well since Friday night! :sleepy: I don't know what is up with him! He just wakes up and decides he doesn't want to go back to sleep! Makes for a very tired Momma!
Going to answer the original questions now! :bolt:

March 30th, 2005, 11:05 AM
1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...) I'm Theresa, age 29, married to Keith, age 34, for 7 years! :woo: We have Ellie, age 3, and Ian, age 17 months. :)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! ) Don't have any really recent ones. :blush:
2) How long have you been a SAHM? Since December 7, 2001. That's when I went into pre-term labor with Ellie. She was born 3 weeks later.
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do? N/A
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I was a medical receptionist/biller for an ophthalmology office.
4) What does DH/SO do? He is a computer technician for ESPN, but he's looking for a new job.
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? First is spending time with God. I try and start each day with prayer and a little Bible reading. Once the kids are up, my main priority is making sure they're taken care of. Also, I try to keep the house somewhat clean and I do the dishes and one load of laundry every day. That's the plan at least. It doesn't always work out that way. :lol:
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? Hopefully, get to know some other moms going through the same struggles and get to know some other moms better! :)

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! ) I'm Chris, 24. DH is Robb, 25. Trey is 2, and we are expecting #2 November 12, 2005
2) How long have you been a SAHM? I was a SAHW starting in July of 2002. I had a really rough pregnancy, and couldn't hack working, so I quit my job and stayed home.
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I worked at a daycare with the 2 year olds
4) What does DH/SO do? Robb is a network administrator for Charter Communications
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? Trey is my main priority every day. I try to spend as much of the day with him as possible. I try to do at least one room a day, so I'm always on top of things. I'm pretty anal about my house being clean, so rarely is it out of control, but I do need help being motivated to get laundry folded and put away :lol:
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal?Motivation for the most part :)

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! )
Mandy age 27, married to Jeremy (32) for almost 5 years in May!
DS: Aiden age 1 1/2
Here's me and Aiden http://images.snapfish.com/343543%3B523232%7Ffp46%3Dot%3E2325%3D54%3B%3D39%3A%3DXROQDF%3E2323799%3B6%3C746ot1lsi
2) How long have you been a SAHM? Since the day Aiden was born.
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
I celebrate 1 year of doing my sewing for hire in April - but I will be cutting back as soon as I can get the message up. Aiden is currently in full time daycare - and will be coming out of daycare COMPLETELY! So, I can have him at home with me and do the whole SAH thing mostly. I had too many things going on at one point and needed the help of daycare.
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I was a stay at home wife! :lol:
4) What does DH/SO do? My husband is a physicist and plays with lasers and vacuums - but I am told that it is not the same kind of vacuum that I use. ;)
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day?
Getting off the computer is where I lack motivation.... :lol: If you see me online, please PM me and tell me to get back to work. :lol:
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal?
I think it was nice to chat with other ladies who SAH. I also enjoyed hearing new ideas to entertain a toddler.

:lol: So much for all the loads of laundry I wanted to do yesterday! I only did the one load...shame on me! It was so gorgeous outside, I wanted to take advantage! So we had fun outside. :)
Today Alexia starts storytime at the library. It's for 1/2 hr. and I have to call cuz I forgot if it starts at 11 am or 11:30.
Today I would like to:
- DO LAUNDRY (at LEAST 2 more loads)
- mail out invites for Alexia's bday party
- Clean the bathroom
:)
Carla & Shel, I hope your lil' ones slept better last night. Angelina did...thank god!

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! ) Maggie is less than a month from being 3, and Katie is 15 months.
2) How long have you been a SAHM? About a month less than 3 years. :lol:
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do? I do some website design & consulting and I run an online community...
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I used to be Special Projects Manager for eCommerce - NAFTA CE. Basically, I coordinated the efforts of the Consumer Electronics division of a multinational company to make the website work to everyone's advantage. What I actually did was sit in on alot of meetings and tell people what we couldn & couldn't do because of the technical infrastructure that was out of my control.
4) What does DH/SO do? He is a partial owner of a small consulting comany (that will hopefully be much larger before too long!)
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? Making sure the girls are well cared for is the main thing. I am trying to make sure to add taking good care of myself back into the equation as well. Taking care of my other work is high on the list, too. Runnig the house factors in below all those (which accounts for why my house is never as clean as I would like it)
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? Dunno... thinking doens't often make it to the priority list! :lol:

I MUST clean the bathrooms today (as well as trips to Target and Kohls)! If you see me online this afternoon, PM me and ask me if the bathrooms are finished.....

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! ) I'm Jen, DH is Nathan. Ben is 2 years, 4 months and Katie is 3 1/2 months old.
2) How long have you been a SAHM? About 3 1/2 months minus two weeks back at work for my notice to retain accrued leave.
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I was a Clinical Research Associate - I travelled to doctors offices and made sure that they were doing pharmaceutical research correctly. When Ben was a baby, I was in a Masters program and working part time doing health services research.
4) What does DH/SO do? Right now, he's a post doctorate researcher. Soon, he'll either be a Materials Researcher at one of two companies. Either way, we'll be moving in about a month. :eek:
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? With such a little one, making sure both kids are dressed and fed is a task! :lol: After that, I like to get dinner on the table and at least one load of laundry done. The rest, I'm still trying to figure out.
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? I'm looking forward to comparing notes with other SAHMs. Since we're moving, I haven't tried to get to know other SAHMs in the area, so it will be nice to get tips from others!

How pathetic is it that I can't even get motivated to make a list of things to do later? I guess the first item on my list is to make a to-do list.
However, I already have dinner started (tortilla soup in the crockpot), folded a load and started a load of laundry.

Just got back from storytime at the library and made lunch for Lexie. OK, so ask what the heck I'm doing on here!? :lol: I have a bathroom to clean really good, and laundry, amongst other things..... I did manage to get her party invites mailed out today! :aok:
Shel - is that Lynn's tortilla soup? If so, I made it for the first time last week and it was soooooo good! :lick:
OMG, dinner....I don't have a clue! Yikes! :lol:

:wavey: Hope everyone's having a good day. Today was kind of wasted. NOt enough motivation to do much as I'm so tired. The kids were a real challange to stay in bed last night. I did do some dishes and clean some of our bedroom and change our bed linens. I might try to clean the kitchen floor tonight before bed and put some laundry away later. I'm re-starting my diet tommorow so I have to plan some meals or I'll be lost for a few days.

I cleaned all 3 bathrooms to sparkliness, so am proud of myself. However, I plan to tell DH that if he doesn't start rinsing out the sink after brushing his teeth, I'm not going to allow him to use toothpaste anymore! :nono: That stuff hardens like cement....
However, all this joy is tempered by the fact that like a moron I forgot to take any meat out of the freezer for dinner so I don't know what we're going to have... May have to whip out the corn chowder recipe I've been pondering.
Theresa
March 31st, 2005, 04:42 PM
I had a good day! I got the dishes done, the dishwasher ran, the living room cleaned, and all the bed linens changed! :up: A productive day for me! :)
DH and I are going out to dinner tonight as soon as he gets home from the gym! :woo: No kids!! :banana:

Some day's there's nothing worse than a bad recipe. Sometimes I'm reluctant to try new things for that reason.
Shaylee is sick, which is probably why she hasn't been sleeping lately. I don't think it's anything serious, hopefully just teething (she was like this a few days before her last teeth emerged too).
I didn't get all I wanted to get done yesterday and probably won't today either. Shaylee just doesn't want to be put down and when she is, Ethan hops right in her place. He may be staying overnight to his grandparent's house tonight (IL's) so I'm really hoping for that. One clingy kid I can deal with but two just makes me want to pull my hair out!
So, I basically am just going to plan on tidying, some laundry and whatever else I can get done :lol: . I'm planning on making ham and collard greens for supper tonight. I'll probably put it in the crockpot so I won't have to fuss over it. I feel like a walking zombie so I would probably forget about it the way I feel right now.

I have a good easy corn chowder recipe if you want, my dear.
Owen slept 11-5, so I'm up and at 'em today! Already finished 2 loads of laundry and straightened Owen's room :up:
Today I'm tackling the top of my fridge (which is apparently the catch all for everyone's crap) and going to try and clean out Riley's toybox :(

We did grocery shopping today and stopping at Target for the prescription I completely forgot to pick up yesterday! (I did actually go to Target yesterday, just spent so much time looking around that I forgot to go to the pharmacy! :doh: ) So I ran the dishwasher, made the beds, put the groceries away, and am relaxing until DH gets home and we go out for dinner to celebrate the one day a week that he's home at a reasonable hour! :woo:

The bathroom got cleaned yesterday really good! I'm glad it's done. Anne, your luckily I didn't see you on the couple times I was on, cuz I really was about to PM you asking if your bathrooms were done yet! :lol:
I went to the post office today, then we had some contractors come down to give some estimates for the kitchen, and I'm doing some more laundry (what else is new?). I'm so glad it's friday! Everyone have a good weekend! Any plans? We're gonna buy a 4-drawer filing cabinet (that we desperately need..we currently have a 2-drawer) and a Dyson! :banana: Sun we're eating an early dinner at MIL's.

I saw her on AOL IM and that was the first thing I asked her :lol:
I'm so jealous of the Dyson. I keep telling DH we need to have our parents chip in on one for my birthday :)
I didn't get the fridge or toybox done, but I did help Jake and Kaleb clean out their drawers and closet. That was a big enough project in itself!

Today I got nothing accomplished, but I'm going to make up for it Monday. We have a painter coming Tuesday to paint our living room (:woo: ) and I need to get the room cleared out, so that will pretty much take up a big chunk of the day. So, if anyone sees me on here Monday, feel free to PM me and yell! :lol:

I did completely nothing useful today, because we spent the day at my parents' house visiting for our postponed Easter dinner (Caroline was sick last Saturday when we were initially going). However, this time James was sick, so it was just me and Caroline. What a surprise, just like the other six days of my week! :rolleyes: Am so freakin' excited tax season ends in 12 more days! :woo:

Hey Stacy! :wavey:
Theresa - how exciting your getting your LR painted! And even better that you hired a painter! :up:
Anne - Yah that tax season ends for you! You get your hubby back! :lol:
I got some things done yesterday:
laundry
helped primed some of the basement
sorted thru some of the girls' clothes that they outgrew
(not much, but like Theresa, I'll make up for it this coming week.) :lol:
And I think that's it. It was a little bit of a hairy day anyway with both the girls. Days like that it's hard to get anything accomplished.
TOday we're going to MIL's house. Taking it easy when we come home. Tomorrow (Monday) is a brand new day. DH goes back to work, so that means I go back to work. :lol: I will have some major to do lists going on that's for sure.

Jen, where are you moving?
That's one of the problems, we're not sure yet. :eek: Either Albany, NY or Frederick, MD. DH has a job in Albany, but is interviewing for his dream job in Frederick on Wednesday. :silly: He just said to me yesterday that this is the kind of crazy thing we keep getting ourselves into.
Let's see... Today was great - we took Ben to the zoo after skipping church because it was daylight savings time. :blush: Not a good reason, but some weeks any reason not to wrangle two kids during the service looks good!
Yesterday, DH helped and we got some major cleaning done in our room. We knew when we moved in that we wouldn't be staying long, so every room got organized except ours. When we're getting ready for someone to visit, guess where all the clutter goes? Yep, our room. But, I feel much better about it now.
This week is going to be completely nuts. Tomorrow is grocery shopping and laundry. Tuesday and Wednesday are in Frederick. The rest of the week is getting ready for the kids and I to go to Phoenix to visit my parents. We'll be gone 8 days - I can hardly wait!!! I'll miss DH, but seeing my parents and having help and the great weather - gonna be terrific!

Today I did two loads of laundry, sorted through outgrown stuff (Caroline's, not mine! :lol: ) and cut coupons for the coupon train. My main project for this week is finding a baby shower gift. Any cool suggestions? This is her second, so she doesn't *need* clothes and the like (although I got an outfit anyway, every baby deserves to have some stuff that isn't handed down!)

Today I need to;
*do loads of laundry
*go to Y to workout
*go to chiroprator for 8:30
*organize linen closet
*start new diet
*clean out chest freezer and move upstairs
We are having lasagne for dinner. It's a frozen pre-made kind. I need to pick up salad fixings to go with it.

Anne, does your friend know the sex of the baby? Either way, you can't go wrong with an outfit and maybe a gift card as well!? :) OR, how about a gift card to have pics taken (like at JCPenney's or whatever). It doesn't have to be alot of money, but anything will help cuz I'm sure she's going to want to have pics of her 2 kids together. :)
Alexia does not have school today or Wed. due to spring break.
Today's list:
~ Doctor's office (Alexia has her 3 yr. well visit and Angelina has her 4 mo. visit)
~ Food store (not for food shopping, but need to get a lot of things we're out of)
~ Decide on a paint color for the basement and a coordinating color for the lower portion of the playroom!!!
~ Fold and put clothes away from the laundry
~ Doing more loads of laundry would be nice
~ Mail out the rest of our 'moving magnets' w/ our new address & ph # to the rest of our family/friends.
I know there's more....but I can't remember off the top of my head what else I really needed to do.

Diapers. Everyone can use diapers! That was my favorite gift when I had O.
DH is on vacation tonight :woo: so we are playing today and tomorrow. Sticking dinner in the crockpot and we are out of here (no idea where we are going yet......)

I was going to suggest the same thing! :nod: Or maybe a new diaper bag.
I know. I'm supposed to be working, but I really needed a break. I did get to the grocery store this morning and the kids have been just driving me nuts today!! :tearhair: Ian's napping now and Ellie is watching TV, so I'm taking a 5 minute break. Going to go back to work now! :bolt:

Hi, Ladies! Thought I'd join in!
1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! ) I am Vicky and dh is Drew. We've been together for 10 years and married for 3. We have a 3 1/2 month old son Samuel.
2) How long have you been a SAHM? Just since having Sam.
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do? Actually I have to look for a part-time job nights/weekends to help make ends meet. I am a Librarian, and I've been looking for a while, but no one has been looking for part-time help in my field recently, so I'm thinking of applying at the competition--the BOOKSTORE. ;)
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? Full-time Reference Librarian.
4) What does DH/SO do? He's a Computer Technician for a radiology company.
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? I feel like I can't get ahead. I can usually get the kitchen looking okay, the bed made, and maybe some laundry done, but since our house is a "fixer-upper", I want to accomplish more like stripping the wallpaper border in the livingroom or sewing some curtains for Sam's room.
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? It is a whole new experience for me being home, so I'm hoping to find out that I'm not the only one trying so hard to get so little done! :nod:
P.S. Shel--I'd love that corn chowder recipe you mentioned. Dh loves the stuff, and I don't think I've ever made it at home. Thanks!

Well, I finally got some sleep after Sam woke up 3 times during his first 2 hours of sleep last night. I think he's teething, so we finally gave him some tylenol.
So, today: Went to storytime at the library (went okay, but Sam was very hungry and therefore very CRANKY by the time it was over, so had to come home right away instead of chatting and visiting with other moms like I would have liked to. Oh, well...) About to get the dishwasher going and eat some lunch. Will then fold some laundry and put another load in. After that, I'd like to get the office more organized, if I have time (if Sam is still napping). Been wanting to get to the fabric store lately, too, to maybe find some cloth for curtains for Sam's room and the bathroom, but that's sort-of a goal for the whole week. I think I also need to hunt down some deals on 6-9 month clothes for Sam as he's growing so fast! Well, I'd better get busy! Ciao!

Well, I got the living room all cleared out! I also picked the color I want it painted. It's called "Elation" and is a very pale blue/purple. It's going to look great! :aok: I've never had a painter before. I feel very spoiled. :lol: Normally, we would just do it ourselves, but this is a big job and I'd rather just pay someone so it can be done, ya know? Besides, this guy is a friend of ours and is cutting us a deal. :aok:
Vicky, I noticed you're from CT. What part? I'm in Bristol. :)

I got some laundry done today.
I organized all the supplies for Dylan's b-day party this weekend including assembling the loot bag thingies for the kids.
I am 90% done with the linen closet.
I went to the chirpractor then I went and worked out at the Y.
I made cupcakes for my BF's son's b-day tomorrow.
I still hope to get some more laundry done and the linen closet finished tonight.

YAY! Vicki's here! Will PM you that recipe!
Yesterday was a total blow off day! DH took a vacation day and we took the kids swimming, came home and ordered pizza with the ILs and rode bikes. Now it's back to the real world. I'm taking O for his 4 month check up while DH take the other kids to storytime/library. Today is just "maintenance day" since I haven't picked up or cleaned the kitchen since Saturday :blush:

Today we're going to storytime at the library, and I have to stop at the grocery store for a few things (how does DH manage to drink 3 QUARTS of orange juice in two days? That makes my stomach hurt to think about!) Then I need to put away LOTS of laundry that's piled around the bedroom, and change our sheets. I have to do it today because tomorrow's gong to be a total blowoff day after school in the morning; going to be 76 degrees! :woo:

~ Food store (not for food shopping, but need to get a lot of things we're out of) DONE (still need to get american cheese, butter, pens and colorox wipes. Angelina started getting cranky and we had to jet (she had 4 vaccinations yesterday :blue: )
~ Decide on a paint color for the basement and a coordinating color for the lower portion of the playroom!!! still have to do!
~ Fold and put clothes away from the laundry DONE
~ Doing more loads of laundry would be nice - doing this now
~ Mail out the rest of our 'moving magnets' w/ our new address & ph # to the rest of our family/friends. Mostly DONE. Just a couple more.

Other things for today that I would like to get done:
- at least unpack 2 boxes.
- Go through paperwork clutter (we were suppose to buy a 4-drawer filing cabinet over the weekend but never did cuz of the weather). We're in desperate need of more room in the filing cabinet (we have a 2-drawer now that is filled to the max)!!!
If I can do that along with laundry, then that's not so bad. Having a hairy day today with the lil' one.

Manchester's not far at all! :) DH goes to the Borders in Manchester to play chess most Tuesdays. Cool! :up:
I can't get much done today. The painter has taken over my living room and I don't want to bother him too much, so I'm kind of hiding upstairs. I'm going to try to get some laundry done after he leaves, but that's about it. :)

Ack! I'm already getting behind in this thread. I've been so busy that it's been hard to get in. The house is clean! I have a ton of dishes as we had company over for supper, but I'm not going to worry about them for now.
I'm still so tired as the kids are just not sleeping well and I'm getting no sleep. Shaylee is starting to feel better; I'm sure if she would just SLEEP she'd be back to normal in no time :lol: .
Dawn, when I read your last post, it got me thinking of the many boxes we still haven't unpacked from December :blush: . I could probably get rid of it all and not miss it, lol! Our basement has TONS of stuff I just can't get a chance to go through. At this point I can't bring the kids down there, when ever Mark has a day off we get busy with other stuff and we can never seem to find anyone to watch the kids. Someday.....

I hear ya. :nod: Well, the worst part is this....we STILL have LOTS of boxes at my sister's house (she was holding them in 'storage' so to speak)! SO...in a couple wks. we will pick them up...they'll be in our basement and we have to one by one go thru them all (garbage, sell, donate, keep) and I'm dreading it cuz this stuff she was holding for us for a really long time. Like you, if we just get rid of it I bet that we won't miss anything in there! :lol: We unpacked the important stuff, of course, but there's still boxes here and there in each room! Ugh!
It’s going to be gorgeous out today (71 degrees) so anything that needs to get done indoors, can wait til tomorrow. I’m having Alexia’s big bday party on Sat. so the girls and I are going to go to a couple catering places for prices for some things. We’re probably gonna get a couple 6-ft. subs and a tray or two of something hot (baked ziti or whatever). I also need to pick up a couple things for the favor buckets.
Well, my computer is acting crazy again, so let me run before it turns off on me!

It's nice here too so I have a big line of laundry out. Good thing as we had quite a fiasco last night. One of our guests flooded the toilet, which flooded the whole upstairs and it was leaking through the ceiling into the kitchen :eek: . I was sorting through clothes yesterday so now I have to wash everything that was on the floors, on the bottom shelves of the linen closets not to mention the tons of towels they used to clean it up with. Our dryer isn't working so we may have to go to the laundromat later as I'm running out of places to hang things.
Needless to say other than that, I'm only planning on giving the floors a good scrubbing when Mark gets home. The house is still clean and the dishes are mostly done. I put all the stuff away this morning that didn't get wet as well as the laundry I'd been putting off putting away since we'll need the baskets. I'd love to get out of the house but I have to wait for the plumber to come. I think we'll go outside after as it's a shame to waste such a nice day.

I went to the gym today, so that almost counts as enough for me. :biggrin: But during naptime I'm going to change the sheets on our bed and consider putting away our down comforter (which pretty much assures that it will be -27 degrees, whichever night I do it...)

Good luck to your dh Theresa! I notice that there seems to be a lot of turnover at ESPN--you'd think with such a big company they'd try harder to make their employees happy. What town is the job interview?
Let's see...today I folded two loads of laundry and packed up all the trash and brought it out to the curb (Wednesday is trash day because they do pickup early Thursday mornings). I spent quite a bit of time playing with Sam, and called the ped office because he is teething and I wanted to see what is safe to give him. It figures--just got over colic and now he's teething! And it's only the top teeth--bottom gum is still soft, so looks like this is gonna be a long process. I keep looking at all the dishes in the sink, telling myself I should unload and reload the dishwasher, but I just have NO ENERGY today. I have to wash bottles before he wakes up from his nap, so I'll probably do the other dishes while I'm at it. Hope to take a walk after his nap to get out and enjoy the beautiful day. Well, time to go wash the bottles...

Can I jump in? I am so bad at keeping up with these things, but I really WANT to be better at it!
1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
(ETA: Feel free to post pics! ) I'm Michele, married to Scott and we have a son Jackson who is 17 months old
2) How long have you been a SAHM? Since the day Jackson was born
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job? I was an assitant project manager at an Architectural firm
4) What does DH/SO do? He is a trust accountant
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day? My top priorities for each day is making sure Jackson is happy/entertained/socialized/fed/etc. In addition to that I try and get some sort of time for myself each day (usually on here, but I should we working out instead!). After that comes the house work. The only thing I do every day is make the bed, make dinner (or order it!) and unload the dishwasher. I need to bed better at getting housework done, I just can't motivate myself to do it.
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal? Support, friendship, motivation!

April 6th, 2005, 02:56 PM
I have gotten nothing done today! I haven't even made my bed, and I honestly don't feel like doing it. Jackson had Kindermusik this morning so we left the house at 8:45 for that, it was so nice out afterwards that I grabbed lunch for us at a sub shop and met some friends at the park. Jackson had so much fun at the park, and this is the first season he can actually use the park equipment...I was so nervous! No fear in that boy! We played from about 11-2, ate lunch at the park at a picnic table, then headed home for a nap...it is almost 4 and I think he just finally fell asleep! The 10 minute snooze in the car on the way home ruined the nap. I hate that!
Once I get my butt off the computer, I need to make my bed, start some laundry and get dinner figured out...that's all I am doing today!

Here is what I did today:
- Went to a couple caterers and got prices for the food for Lexie’s bday party on Sat. I have to look thru the stuff & talk it over with James tonight so we can decide by tomorrow.
- Post office
- Bought some favors to put into the beach buckets for the bday party.
- Got a sub and ate at the park and she played and even met a friend. :)
- Came home, my Dyson arrived! :woo: I put it together and vacuumed the downstairs. WOW…this thing is incredible!!!!! I am loving this vacuum!
And I guess that’s it. Tomorrow’s another day….

I told DH I wanted our parents to chip in on a Dyson. Or one of those steam cleaner thingies from the infomercials. There is nothing on at 3am but informercials.
Today I have done 3 loads of laundry, dishes, taken Kaleb to band, went to the post office and for gas, picked Kaleb up from band and now I'm doing bills.
My big project next week is to get ready for the neighborhood yard sale on the 23rd. PLEASE keep reminding me to start pricing stuff!!!

Well, after I posted earlier today, my day took a HUGE nosedive. After Sam's nap we played for a bit, and then I decided to take him to the fabric store because I wanted to get some fabric to make curtains for his room and the bathroom. We had a nice time while we were there (well, I did anyway, and he put up with it pretty well...). To make a long story really short, I left the store and as I was walking him in his stroller across the parking lot, a pickup truck hit his stroller!!!!!!!!! I was screaming before the guy bumped the stroller to get his attention, but he just kept coming! Fortunately, it only rocked the stroller to the side a bit (didn't fall to the ground) and I had Sam strapped in so he just got jostled a bit, but THEN the guy only stopped for a moment, and I was screaming at him and hitting the side window with the flat of my hand telling him to stop and get out of the car, and he just shrugged and drove off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can you even BELIEVE THAT?!?!?!!!! Fortunately, lots of witnesses came out of the woodwork and wrote down the license plate number and called the police for me. Sam seemed fine, but when I got home (I was bawling my eyes out the whole way) I told my dh what happened and after feeding and changing him, we took him to the ER just to have him looked over to make sure he was really as fine as I thought. The doc said he doesn't see anything blatantly wrong and to keep an eye on him and to wake him up once during the night to make sure he's still okay.
I am just so emotionally drained right now. All I keep thinking is: What if I didn't have him strapped in his seat with the harness? He probably would have landed on the pavement... I'm not religious, but I am very spiritual, and I thanked God through my tears all the way home and many times since then. I think the guy must have been on something because we were literally 10 feet in FRONT (he wasn't even backing out of a parking space!) of him before he hit the stroller, and I think that's why he didn't stop and give his name, etc.--probably knew he'd be cited for drinking and driving or drugs. I really hope he gets what he deserves...

Thanks for your support Ladies. Sam still seems just fine, and I did talk to the police after it happened and they are gonna try to track him down. I can't imagine it would be that difficult given that I saw what he looks like, had the license plate number, and other witnesses saw what happened too. It's just that he didn't even MAKE SURE that Sam was okay before driving away--how could someone DO that? Still shaky today, and Sam and I are STAYING HOME ALL DAY TODAY. No other goals other than calming down and holding my baby a lot! Have a good day, Ladies!

Oh my Stacy...thank goodness for this group journal...... I would have forgotten that Alexia has storytime at the library today at 11:00 am!! :blush: Thanks! :lol:
Today:
~After Alexia's storytime at the library, I need to drive up to the town where our wonderful bakery is. I need to order her a bday cake for Sat. They need to do it in a fish-y or Nemo theme.
~Need to decide on which catering place to use.
~Need to buy a couple more beach buckets (using these to hold the party favors). Maybe find a dollar store...if not then TRU.
~Must buy color ink for my printer so that I can print out the "Pin the Fin on Nemo" I found and then take that to Staples and have them blow it up.
~When I'm home and settled in for the day, start labeling file folders. Then when James gets home, have him move the filing cabinet to the other wall.
Today is mostly focusing on getting things done for her bday party on Sat. If I can get this list done today, I will be happy! :)
Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Is it really already Thursday? :faint:We got back late last night from DH's interview in MD. He really wanted us to come along, so we made the 5 hour drive with the kids two days in a row. I have to admit, the first part went better than I expected. This trip is the first that we've had both kids in a hotel room and the first time Ben wasn't in a crib. That went great - the trip back yesterday, not so much. I think Katie has an ear infection, so she cried A LOT. She also was up a lot last night, so I'm beat. :sleepy:We're seeing the ped at 1:10 today.
Other things to do today:
- Finish up the laundry (I think we're down to about 3 loads)
- Make dinner (meatloaf?)
- Start putting things aside for AZ (we leave on Sunday to see my parents :woo:)
Finally, just a little vent. I never realized when I was anticipating SAH, how annoying it would be to never be able to go to the doctor's without an entourage. I know that I need to hook up with other moms to hopefully have some support in that area. I had to cancel my doctor's appointment this morning, because there was no way I was taking a sick baby.

Wow Stacy and Vicki! What awful days for both of you!
On todays list:
*Eye dr at 10:45. My contacts are finally in :woo: Have to drag ALL FOUR kids with me as DH apparently had to work overtime
*Take shirts back that I bought last week that don't fit my porn star nursing boobs :rolleyes:
*Drive Kaleb to band at 1:15 and find something to do before I pick him up (with 3 kids in tow
*Pick Kaleb up at 2:20
*Make dinner and get everyone fed and changed for Kaleb's band concert at 7:00 (with 3 kids in tow)
And somewhere in there try and nurse a baby 100 times and straighten up my house and tackle the never ending pile of laundry.
Where is the running away from home smilie??????

PLEASE keep reminding me to start pricing stuff!!!
Shel, have you started to price stuff? :biggrin:
Here is my list of things I wanted to do today. let's see if I did them.
~After Alexia's storytime at the library, I need to drive up to the town where our wonderful bakery is. I need to order her a bday cake for Sat. They need to do it in a fish-y or Nemo theme. DONE! DH actually stopped by and took care of it on his way home. :)
~Need to decide on which catering place to use. OK, what is wrong with me? I got a couple price sheets for 2 different places the other day and I can't find one of them!! Argh! I may need to run out and get another one. Cuz that's the one I think we're going with. I swear, sometimes I don't know if I'm coming or going. :lol:
~Need to buy a couple more beach buckets (using these to hold the party favors). Maybe find a dollar store...if not then TRU. Can't find any! Well, the ones they have are the really large beach buckets. My mom is going to the dollar store by her to see if she can get me some (that's where they had the size I wanted a couple wks. ago). If not, just regular Nemo loot bags we'll use. ETA: NEver mind....mom just called me and they had nothing but orange buckets left at her dollar store. Fine with me...those are the Nemo colors! I'm so happy...one less thing to worry about!! Go mom! :lol:
~Must buy color ink for my printer so that I can print out the "Pin the Fin on Nemo" I found and then take that to Staples and have them blow it up.
DONE! Well, the buying the ink part. :lol: I was about to print out the Pin the fin on Nemo, but it's not working. That's cuz our computer is FINALLY fixed and I think the printer has to be set up with this computer again. I'll have James do that when he gets home. Then TOMORROW I'll go and get it blown up. :)
~When I'm home and settled in for the day, start labeling file folders. Then when James gets home, have him move the filing cabinet to the other wall.
I'm doing this now. :)
Oh, and while at the mall today (went to the dollar store in there). I was soooooo bad and stopped at Children's Place & Old Navy. I got some cute stuff for the girls....especially at Old Navy....I got alot of stuff there. cute! cute! cute! :) Hey, a mamma's allowed to do some shopping too, right? :lol: I almost bought an outfit for me....but didn't.

Well, I gotta say...I'm totally stoked!!! Angelina rolls from her back to tummy!!! She hit this milestone yesterday!!!! :)
Anyway, here is what I need to do today:
- Go to staples or a store like that, to have them blow up this Nemo template to play "Pin the Fin on Nemo" at Alexia's bday party tomorrow.
- Go to the library to return Lexie's overdue books. They were due the 5th and I totally forgot to bring them with me when we went to storytime yesterday.
- Go to the foodstore. Again, running out of some important stuff and to get some snack size packets of gold fish crackers to put in their loot buckets.
- DONE!..... This morning I finalized the food! I ordered a 6 ft. sub with the potato and macaroni salad, a tray of baked ziti and a tray of chicken franchaise (sp?). But I'm pondering whether I should of ordered the chicken murphy instead. :scratch: (it's chicken tossed in a red sauce with onions, peppers)
- In the evening, go to my mom's house to decorate for the party tomorrow.
And I think that's it..... knowing me though I'm sure I'm forgetting about something. Then if I get done early enough I'll straighten up the house.
Have a great day everyone! :wavey:
Let me run.....my teething child is SCREAMING!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Friday! :sunny:
So far today I started the dishwasher, played with Sam and ate my breakfast. Sam is in the process of falling asleep again, so when he conks out, I'll throw a load of laundry in and take a shower. I was thinking of venturing out this afternoon and going to Home Depot. I am now very leary of parking lots, but it's an issue I just have to get over. I didn't hear from the police yesterday, so I think I'm gonna give the investigating officer a call a little later. Other than that, just looking forward to the weekend!
So, what are everyone's plans for the weekend? My sister and my IL's are all coming to visit on Saturday (my sister is staying over but IL's will just be here for the day). We get many more visitors since Sam arrived, I've noticed--I wonder why?! :biggrin: Other than that, just hoping to put the finishing touches on Sam's room so we can start on another room in the house--probably the bathroom (I think we picked that room next because it is the smallest!). Have a wonderful day, Ladies!

We're about to head out for the grocery store, and then at some point this afternoon I have to fold/put away some laundry. After lunch we're going to the movies with our neighbor to see "Robots", depending on Caroline's attitude about it (lately she's been saying "I don't like movies" although she'd watch Sleeping Beauty 59 times in a row if I let her... :rolleyes: ) Tomorrow I'm going to a baby shower for our neighbor, and Sunday is DH's LAST weekend working! :woo:

Ugh, don't you just hate it when it seems like FOREVER to get out the door??? Get both girls dressed, then one decides to be hungry....feed bottle....the other one is about to be hungry cuz it's snack time...feed her snack. All ready...ooops, little one did a poop in her diaper. Drop everything and undress her to change diaper. All ready to go...pack her in carseat and Lexie's all ready and waiting. Wait....lost binky...where is the darn binky? We have 3 of them and none to be found!!! Searching high and low to find binky. Girls are getting ancy cuz they are probably getting hot with their jackets on. I'm getting irritated now (and hot). Ok, found binky. About to leave out the door....phone rings. I'm NOT answering it!!!! :lol:
This usually happens most of the time. We're half way out the door now. Feeding the lil' one. :) However, I'm sure it'll take another hour before we leave....THEN it'll be lunch time!!!! Ugh!!!! Can never win.
I'm sure I can't be the only one that feels like it takes forever just to get the heck outta here!!!!

So far today I have:
Done 1 load of laundry. Folded it as well (I always seem to let it just pile up in the basket :blush: )
Wiped down the counters in the kitchen
Vacuumed the living room and the furniture
Cleaned the fish tank and ran the water tests on it
Paid bills online, balanced our checkbook, mailed the other bills
Dropped off our electric bill at the company
Called to arrange things with my mom to drop off Trey on Tuesday with her
Went to Walmart and bought things I needed for my trip, refilled prescriptions for Robb and I
Had a fun lunch with just Trey and I at Wendys :lol:
And fingerpainted with Trey
When he lays down for his nap, I'm planning on giving Jasmine (our dog) a bath and then cleaning the bathroom. I need to wash windows in the living room, and do some tidying in the office.

OMG Vicky! That is so scary, and I am so mad at the guy for driving away! I always worry about that when I push Jackson in his stroller...it seems weird to always be pushing the baby in front of you and into traffic ect. Not that I advoctate pulling the stroller behind you, but still...ANYWAY, I am glad you guys are both ok!
-----------------------------------------------------
I didn't get on here at all yesterday which is weird for me, and I didn't get anything done around the house either. I am just considering this whole week a waste and hoping to do better next week.
Yesterday I left the house at 8:30 to bring Jackson to the ped for his ear re-check. My appointment was at 9:15 and I was acutually early for once in my life. We waited in the waiting room for what seemed like forever, and at 9:35, my doctor comes strolling through the waiting room, coat on, bag with her and coffee in hand...she was just getting there! I was so annoyed that no one had even mentioned that she wasn't there yet. We didn't get seen until almost 10, and even then she just glanced in his ears, said they were fine and that she would see us for his 18 month check up. It was such a waste of my time. I really need to finally get on the ball and switch peds...we moved about 40 minutes away from the office in July and I still haven't switched yet. Yesterday was the kick in the pants I needed to finally switch.
Today...again I have done nothing. I took Jackson to playgroup at this indoor play area today. He had a ball, but I thought it was kind of dirty. Jackson loved the little ball pit they had there...which was totally grossing me out the whole time after some of the ball pit horror stories I have read. I let him play, but sanitized him afterwards.
We got home at 1:30 and he has been asleep since 2:00. I need to start dinner, clean the kitchen, finish the laundry and straighten up the living room. He got into Scott's CD's this morning (which drives Scott crazy) and I need to clean them up before Scott gets home. Instead of doing all of this, I am sitting here on the computer though! Whoops!

Oh also at some point today, I need to make a grocery list. We are going to the store after swimming lessons tomorrow and I need to get organized...lately I have been just grabbing whatever looks good and that gets too expensive, plus I end up making a bunch more trips to the store to pick up stuff I forgot.

1) What is your name and family stats? (babies names, ages, etc...)
Me - Chantal, 33yrs
Dh - Chris, 33 yrs
Kaitlyn Alexandra - 3 yrs 3mos
2 cats, Autumn and Damien - 7 yrs
2) How long have you been a SAHM?
Since January 2002
2a) If your a WAHM for how long and what do you do?
Since November 2002 ~ I am a home child care provider.
3) What did you do before this wonderful new job?
I was an employment counsellor for the Ontario March of Dimes/Human Resources and Development Canada.
4) What does DH/SO do?
Funeral Director
5) What are your priorities for each day? Where do you feel you need the most help with motivation in getting things done each day?
~ Monday - Friday: Todzillas (daycare kids) start pouring in at 7am and are finally gone by 8-9pm, depending on what day of the week it is. EVERYONE has naptime/quiet time from 1-3pm. I offer a typical daycare programme, that includes a preschool programme for children aged 2-4yrs old.
~ Weekends: I do laundry, clean the house, pay bills, do groceries, ect. Sort of along the lines of a Working Mom's schedule.
~ Priorities: ensure the house is vaccuumed in the morning before the kids arrive, as I have a couple of little ones, that crawl and with 2 cats - well it can make for a bit of a furry mess. At the end of the day, sanitize my toys, and put them all away in their respective "homes" - otherwise my house would look more like a toybox than a livable space. Spend only ONE day each weekend doing housework and groceries, ect... then spend the other day just hanging out with Kaitlyn and Dh, if it's his weekend off.
~ Motivation: I find it hard on the days where Dh works late, or on his weekends that he has to work... then I feel like I am running daycare for 2 weeks straight with no respite. I find that if I waiver at all from my Mon-Fri routine that I am absolutely LOST and I get pretty worn down and stressed out by the end of the week.
6) What do you hope to get out of this journal?
Just another place to hang my hat :) I feel a little out of place, as everyone seems to be a SAHM and not a WAHM.
Dawn
April 8th, 2005, 03:50 PM
Hi Chantal! :wavey: Welcome! :) Don't feel out of place.....we're all at home working whether it be SAHM or WAHM, like you. We are all going thru similar things regardless. ;) Feel free to use this thread for anything you need it to be.... to prioritize your daily/weekly 'to-do's, as an outlet, vents, questions, or hanging with us. :biggrin:

April 9th, 2005, 05:38 AM
1) What is your name and family stats?
Kate - 25
Sean - 32
Married - July 28, 2001
Cameron - 3 (Jan 10, 2002)
Alasdair - almost 1 (April 22, 2004)
2) How long have you been a SAHM?
I was a SAHM with Cameron, then after having Alex I went back to work, but it didn't work out and I hate corporate America, so I am a SAHM again.
3) What did you do before this wonderful job?
I was a recruiter for a temp agency.
4) What does DH/SO do?
He is an electrical mechanic.
5) What are your priorities each day? Where do you feel you need the most help in motivation in getting things done every day?
My priorites are my boys. They are my world. I need the most motivation with housework and organizing. When I was working I just could not find the perfect work/home balance and DH was home with the boys. This place was in complete CHAOS. It is getting better, but I still have a lot more to do.

Welcome Kate! :wavey:
Today we're having Alexia's bday party at my parent's house! Big and busy day today! :biggrin:
I'm going there earlier to decorate....I didn't go there last night. James is going to pick up the cake, sub, and hot trays of food.
Everyone have a great Saturday! :wavey:
Chantal
April 9th, 2005, 11:02 AM
On tap for today:
~ once Morgan is picked up (yup, one of my after-school kids is here on a SATURDAY as a favor to her mom... fortunately this child is wonderful and Kaitlyn adores her), Kaitlyn and I have to run to Cosco so I can pick up my script of Clomid for this cycle.
~ when we get home, I am pulling out the rake, some garbage bags and the wheel barrow and going nuts on my yards.
~ cleaning out the garage
On tap for tomorrow:
~ church in the morning, then out for our usual Denny's brunch
~ buying stones/bricks to make circular flowerbeds around a couple of my trees in the front yard. Also, need to fill with soil and cover with cedar wood chips. (hopefully this will motivate Dh to fix up the exterior of the house).

Today..Since I leave for Atlanta on Tuesday, I want the house to be all spic and span, and I have this pipe dream going that Robb is going to keep it that way until I get back :lol:
I dusted every room...vacuumed every room...cleaned the carpet in the living room with the steamer...did a quick wipe down of the bathroom (I cleaned it top to bottom yesterday, wiping down the walls even)...and am finishing up laundry. I have one more to wash and that will be done. Then I need to clean our bedroom up and wash Trey's blankeys to take to Grandmas.
Tomorrow is packing and spending time with Trey :)

So quiet in here. :lol: We all must be busy running around doing errands, cleaning our houses and spending time with our lil' ones, huh? :lol:
I'm feeling so lazy today..... I did wash the dishes in the sink so far AND cleaned out my purse. :lol: Alexia played hooky and didn't go to preschool today. I also had to take care of some phone calls (not personal) too.
James is home today as well and for one we're gonna get our taxes done today at 1 pm. :blush: Ok, I'm probably the only one here that hasn't gotten them done. We always get them done earlier but with the move and things going on it wasn't possible. Then we want to hopefully buy a wooden playset for the girls today (or tomorrow).
I also have to, have to, HAVE TO, pick out a paint color for the basement TODAY. Poor James has been waiting and I haven't picked one out yet. Once I do, he can paint the basement, then we can have it carpeted....THEN we can utilize that space!!!!!
I need to do more laundry today as well. :)
What are you all doing? :biggrin:
Colleen
April 11th, 2005, 09:48 AM
Hi Dawn!
I don't think I mentioned it, but I work part time (like 10 hours a week) at Gymboree nights and weekends. So, this weekend I worked Saturday night and all day yesterday. :(
We got errands and outside stuff done over the weekend, but the house is in a shambles. :cry:
I have some goals for today. I figure if I have daily goals, it's easier to accomplish than weekly ones. :lol:
1. Do 4 loads of laundry.
2. Vacuum bedrooms, upstairs hallway, and stairs.
3. Put away stuff in front entryway.
4. Unload dishwasher, reload, tidy kitchen, and swiffer wetjet the floor.
5. Put away stuff on dining room table.
If Sabrina taks a short nap this afternoon, I won't get much done on this list. :lol:
Dawn
April 11th, 2005, 10:11 AM
Colleen, yes I do know you work at Gymboree (I frequent/lurk the Gymboree thread). :) And you are so lucky! I use to buy Gymboree for Alexia all the time when she was younger. Then when we moved again (and again) there isn't really any stores close by us. :blue: Well, wait....there is one I believe maybe 1/2 hr. away. But still....I was spoiled driving 15 or 10 min. :lol: Now that I have TWO girls.... MUST MAKE TRIP to GYMBOREE! :lol:
Speaking of naps, Alexia is taking one now. :eek: She said she was tired so I told her to lay down on my bed (this was at 10:30 am). And she sure did....she's sleeping!!!! :lol: I hear ya....my house is in shambles too. With Alexia's bday party and all the planning and running around here and there,
etc.....our house has been neglected. Now, I have to concentrate on my goddaughter's christening this weekend!!!! Ack! I need to buy me an outfit, my goddaughter a christening dress and my girls some white tights to wear with their dresses. yet another busy week!!! It never ends, does it? :disbelief:
Chantal
April 11th, 2005, 01:16 PM
Goals for this week:
~ mop floors
~ clean out fridge
~ vacuum garage
~ finish outdoor
~ purge my closet, reorganize Kaitlyn's closet
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Well... I am struggling with being at home all day long. Dh and I are waiting for a call from a prospective new job - and I feel like I am at home, staring at that friggen phone - constantly :(
It's a time like this, where I wish I worked outside the home, to keep myself busy all day long. Naptime is the hardest today - all 5 kids (including Kaitlyn) are sound asleep... and I am sitting here stewing, playing over every possible outcome, gearing myself up for a letdown, ect. Basically... going :crazy: over here.
Michele
April 11th, 2005, 03:54 PM
I do that too Chantal! I over-think things during naptime and work myself up into a tizzy sometimes. I did that on Friday about my DH's job (he is looking for a new one) and all kinds of stuff. I ended up in such a bad mood! Hope everything works out for you!
OMG I am EXHAUSTED...I took Jackson to the Children's Museum in Boston today. Five Moms and 5 toddlers between 17 and 21 months went and it was chaos! We left the house at 9:00 and just got home about 1/2 hour ago. Jackson had a great time but only napped for about 20 minutes in the car. I am bracing myself for a dinner time meltdown. It was a great place to go, but I think I will wait until he is a little older for next time - he was a little crazy and it was hard to chase him around. I actually lost him for about 2 minutes and freaked out, I have never been so scared in my life. He really liked playing with this water exhibit and ended up soaked to the bone...I forgot a spare outfit for him so he had to ride home soaking wet.
Tomorrow I need to be more productive...I haven't even made my bed yet today!
To do (4/12):
-exercise
-laundry
-go through clothes, start Goodwill bag of stuff that doesn't fit
-stop at grocery store for sour cream, parm cheese and blueberries
Today I went to the gym while Caroline was at school, returned some library books, and then we spent the afternoon outside for the last day it's going to be nice for the rest of the week!
Storytime at the library
clean the fishbowl!
I'll be in here more next week - just wanted to pop in and say *hi* for now! DH is home this week for Spring Break, so my only goal is to get through it. :lol: He's working on his Masters' program, and some other classes he has to do, so I have to keep Katie quiet and occupied, or else out of the house, and it's much more difficult than just having him gone! She was at MIL's house today, though, so I got plenty of playtime between helping DH with his job applications, class assignments, etc. But life will be more normal next week, I think!
Well, our living room is painted. :woo: I spent a good chunk of the day getting it (somewhat) back in order. I want to re-arrange things in there. I'm just not sure how they should go. I'm going to have to look at it some more.
Please say a prayer. DH had a job interview last week and they called him back for another interview tomorrow. He has a really good feeling about it and I SO hope this is it. :pray:
Tomorrow I have Bible study in the morning and then I'm going to either work on the living room some more or clean Ellie's room. I also have to get some of my laundry done.
April 11th, 2005, 09:03 PM
What is your name and family stats? My name is Lisa :biggrin: kids names are Cassie,15 and Paige 3
How long have you been a SAHM? well I'm a part time worker,(cleaning) that started the day my water broke 3+ yrs ago lol
What does DH/SO do? He(Tony) works at a Steel Processing Plant, Maintance/Millwright.
Well today was a good day, Tony is working night so that meant today was free to spend time with Paige, so we took her to Mcdonalds to play in the play center, I feel bad for her because she hardly gets to interact with other children :blue: she had a blast and it's great that she doesn't even want to eat there :lol: we just got a coffee and spent time together while Paige went off to play, it was nice :) then we came home and made cupcakes for daddy to bring to work tonight of course she had to make one in her easy bake oven, she even made an extra for her big sister. As far as cleaning the house, I did do a few loads of laundry and I just went through my linen closet ( what a disaster!!) I threw out all worn out / bleached towels and put the beach towels in storage, I hate when dh uses a tacky Budweiser beach towel in the bathroom :rolleyes:
I refolded the sheets and moved things around, just have to bring the tableclothes/tablerunners downstairs, I have no room for it all up here...right now I'm goin to clean my kitchen sink, I'm trying to atleast have a clean sink to look at when I get up every morning..the key word is try :lol:
Theresa, I'm praying your dh gets that job :pray:
Theresa, what color is your living room? :)
I want to do various things around here today. Unpack a box or two, mop the kitchen floor and laundry. Right now, however, I am trying to choose a color for our basement. Must do that now cuz James is leaving this afternoon to pick up the paint at Home Depot. I hate decisions! :tearhair:
Good luck Theresa! The second interview process, I think, is worse than the first because you know they are really interested--ugh!
So far today I have:
eaten breakfast
played with Sam
got some mail together to go out
made the bed
folded/hung a load of laundry
To do:
more laundry
put away dishes and reload dishwasher
clean bathroom floor
PICK UP/FILE/ORGANIZE THE OFFICE!!! (been trying to get to this task forever, so I'd better at least start...)
Have a nice day, Ladies!
April 12th, 2005, 11:48 AM
Dawn I hear ya about picking colours :tearhair: it's worse when you think you have one picked then you get to the store and see more colours you might like better :lol:
I'm so proud of myself, today for the first time I brought Paige to a drop in centre, again I stress I did this alone, I wanted to wait until Tony could come with me but he doesn't have a free day until next week so I just bucked up and took her, she loved it, but the whole reason I took her was to interact with other children and she didn't :lol: oh well maybe next time, she didn't like circle/ story time maybe 'cause she was new to it and most of the kids already knew the songs, she kept asking if it was over yet and could she leave :blush: now I got over my shyness and don't feel scared to take her again but I don't want her to get bored with it so maybe we'll plan to go once or twice a week.
right now I'm getting stuff ready for dinner, threw a load of laundry in the dryer, Paige is eating and i'm having my lunch( on the special k diet this week, wish me luck lol) not much else I can do since Tony is sleeping off his night shift and we can't make much noise so we'll have a quiet afternoon..have a great day ladies :wavey:
THanks for the good luck wishes for DH, Everyone! This 2nd interview is with the big director, so you know they're interested. :crossfing and :pray:
Theresa, what color is your living room? :)
It was supposed to be a really pale blue/purple color. It came out a bit brighter than I expected, but it's still pretty. It looks TONS better though. :) I'll post pics as soon as I get a battery for my camera.
So far today, I've gotten 2 loads of laundry folded and put away and another load in the washer. I have a meeting at church tonight, so I want to get the kitchen cleaned up before then. :)
Sunday was my work day. I was so livid and every single person who lives in my house (and some that don't) that I took out my frustrations on my house :) I spent all day cleaning after church cleaning out my van (spotless), cleaning all 3 bathrooms (shining) and folding laundry.
Today my goal was to get my March of Dimes auction scrapbook pages done and sweep and mop the kitchen. Pages are done, but I just keep looking at that kitchen floor thinking "Why mop it? We're going to have dinner in 4 hours and someone will spill something on it." :rolleyes:
Don't feel bad, Shel - the only motivation for cleaning my kitchen floor right now is that I have a toddler and a baby coming over for a playdate on Thursday and I don't want the baby eating anything off the floor!
:lol: Shel. I feel the same way. My floor is so old that it never looks clean, so what's the point of mopping it.
Theresa, Can't wait to see the picture of your LR color.
Lisa, good luck on your diet.
I swept and mopped the kitchen floor today. I don't know why...it's so dark and ugly looking I don't know why I bother. I guess it's more for me so that I know it's clean. :dunno: I really can't wait until our kitchen gets done. I'm getting sick of it being so dated. It does smell good in there though if that counts for anything. :lol:
Well, I was S*T*U*P*I*D and put WHITE floors in my kitchen. :wtf: was I thinking??? WHITE FLOORS WITH KIDS????? :doh:
I really need to go mop it.
It's raining here. That's not helping my mood any.
Hey Shel, I'll trade ya floors. How about some nice ugly brown (suppose to look like bricks or something) vinyl square sticky tile floors? :lol: Seriously though, I hear ya on the white. When we sold our condo 9 mos. ago we 'fixed' up the kitchen just to make it look better. Painted the cabinets white AND put in a white floor just to 'open' things up a bit. Well, thankfully the house sold 2 wks. after that because honestly, I don't know how much longer I was able to take it. Every little spec of crumb showed up on there! :tearhair: It drove me nuts!!!
So the Swiffer thing DH bought for our floors works like CRAP; hence, I only did half the floor. Why do the floor twice when you can do it right just once! So I took a trip to BJs this afternoon and picked up the right thing for our floors and will do them tomorrow instead.
My day was a little more productive today, but not as productive as I had hoped.
I exercised this morning - 4 mile walk around a lake with a friend...it was so good to be outside and exercising. I don't know what happened to our nice weather though b/c it was freezing this morning.
Got home a little before 11 and the day went down hill from there. :lol: I did manage to get about 1/2 the laundry done, dinner cooked, the kitchen cleaned and the bed made. I spent most of naptime on the phone with a friend instead of doing the other stuff I was supposed to do.
Tomorrow I need to:
-clean cat bowls/cats' bathroom (our second bathroom has become the cats' room and there is a lot of cat hair in there)
-start sorting clothes for Goodwill
-clean kitchen floor/cabinets
-stop at grocery store
-exercise
okay, have you ever really cleaned your dishwasher? I mean REALLY CLEANED IT??
When I'm mad or frustrated or whatever, I eat or clean. Tonight I did both. I got a wild hair and in the midst of eating brownies (that I should NOT be eating) I took my dishwasher apart and cleaned 3 years worth of lime, calcium, mold and food out of it. After I get some more CLR tomorrow and get everything put back together, I'm rewashing every dish in my cabinet :dead:
I've changed 4 million diapers in my life and never have I gagged like I did when I took the drain cover off of my dishwasher.
Does it say anything that I don't even know where the drain cover is???
I clean out the drain often, not one of my fave jobs :dead:
Today I have to head over to my sisters house to babysit the twins so she and her hubby can go to the funeral :( then I have to go to work tonight so I won't have time nor energy to do anything around the house today.
I have zero ambition today. I'm going to get the kitchen cleaned and that's probably about it. I also have some laundry to be folded. My life is so freaking exciting! :rolleyes:
I am letting the kids "free play" in the play area this morning. Its overcast and windy - and of course, I have one daycare kid who is always sick, and her mom has her in a skirt, summer tights, dress shoes and a light jacket. NO hat, NO mitts, NO appropriate play footwear. :frypan:
I hope to tackle my bedroom, bathrooms and kitchen during naptime... depends on who I meet up with online for a chat ;) :lol:
Dh is off this weekend - so I intend on riding his :moon2: and getting some MUCH needed yard/house work done for once and for all. :angrywife
Every few weeks or so, I pour white vinegar in the dishwasher and run the rinse cycle to "freshen" it up a bit, but I'm with those who don't know where the drain cover is. :dunno:
Sabrina is cutting a tooth, so she won't eat or nap, and was up at 5:45 this morning. Avery is clingy so it's been a fun morning.
My main salvation is that my MIL is taking the kids for the day tomorrow, so I am going on a cleaning frenzy and this house is getting done top to bottom. (yeah, keep saying that to yourself, Colleen. :lol: )
Anne, what swiffer thing did James buy that you don't like? I have the wetjet and I like it for a quick once-over.
Shel
April 13th, 2005, 12:32 PM
The drain cover is the thing on the bottom near the back that has little holes in it. It was covered in food, grease, mold and hard water buildup :dead: I had a nightmare about us dying from eating from dishes covered in that crap :lol:
Since I did so much Sunday and yesterday I'm blowing today off (although I have done a load of laundry and 2 days worth of dishes by hand) The boys and I are scrapping. We are working on a baby album for their soon-to-be new baby brother from their dad and step-mom.
Colleen, the Wetjet is what I'm talking about. I feel like the cleaning solution stuff makes the floors sticky! I much prefer the wet pads that go on the "dry" handle, iykwim.
I did a bunch of cleaning up yesterday because we're having company tomorrow, so all I really have left to do is clean up some random junk on the kitchen table. Recipes to file away, phone numbers to call about various stuff, etc. And I want to make some muffins!
Shel, I am the dishwasher! :lol: We don't have one (yet).
Done absolutely NADA around the house today. Been out all day...just got back now (and have to run out again soon!).
Alexia had preschool today. While she was there I picked up a gorgeous christening gown (and accessories) for my goddaughter who's getting christened this Sun. :) I picked up Alexia then we headed on home..... To find that they were paving our street and they said I couldn't go down our street for a few hours (unless I wanted to park on another street by me but with bags in hand and 2 kids, no thanks). SO...we headed off to the mall, and ate lunch. I also bought Angelina a dress for Sun. I was hoping she would fit into a dress that Alexia wore when she was 3 mos. but it fits a little bit too perfect, kwim? Angelina is much bigger than Alexia was at this age. So I went and bought Angelina a cute pink dress with a hat. Alexia will be wearing pink as well that day. :) I also got myself a couple outfits at Macy's. :biggrin: Slowly I have to start getting new clothes for myself lil' by lil' since I'm now a size bigger. :( I also bought the girls a couple outfits for the spring/summer, oh and nice sweaters to wear the day of the christening. Yup, we were shopping, shopping, shopping! :biggrin:
I have to run out to the food store to pick up some things soon....
It's already 5 pm so I'll do little things here and there around the house, but nothing major. Tomorrow's another day!
As I'm up and it's now 4 pm (my daughter woke up to eat), I wanted to put some things I have to do today before I forget:
-Storytime @ 11:00 am
-Go to food store
-Call up the newspaper for MIL to put fishtank in classified section for weekend
- Write out some bills
- Mail out thank you cards (they are already written out) for Alexia's bday and include her school pic in there
- Go to mall to return/exchange some stuff
- call masonry contractors for estimate on concrete footings for addition
Darn, there were a couple more things that I can't think of right now.
Ok, well off to bed......... :sleeping:
Ugh!--I wanted to get SO MUCH done yesterday because I have a friend coming over today for the first time with her baby, and I really wanted the house CLEAN, but....dh got home pretty late from work last night (7:15--was dealing with a really b*tchy woman's computer issues) and we had to all go drop off one of our cars at the dealership for it to be fixed, so...I did get my side of the office pretty well fixed up, washed folded and put away 3 loads of laundry, spot cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, cleaned our gross fan (I liken it to probably cleaning the dishwasher as mentioned in previous posts--yuck!) and lots of other odds and ends. Today I have to:
mop bathroom and kitchen floors
vacuum all rooms with carpet (including stairs)
sweep hardwood floors
lots of other misc. cleaning/tidying projects
bake brownies for company (at least I get a reward at the end, right?)
Well, gotta run ladies! Take care!
My friend is coming over with her daughter and new son today, so I'm happy the house is reasonably clean. I was even organized and made mufins for the girls to snack on! This afternoon I plan to finish folding laundry, and figure out what to make for dinner.
Vacuum because Amy is coming over and I don't want Molly to be crawling around in filth :blush:
Take Kaleb to band and then we have to stick around to watch the concert for the school volunteers.
Clean out fridge :puke:
Everyone sounds busy today!
My MIL has the kids today. I dropped them off at 10am and I get them back at dinnertime. This is my computer time for now, and then I'm off the clean like crazy! I am just going to do what I can get done and be happy with that. :lol:
But I am going to shut the computer down for the day so I won't be tempted. :lol:
Wow--Sam has been napping for more than 3 hours now (he went to bed later and got up earlier than normal, so I think that's why he's been napping for so long), so not only did I get to take a shower and have lunch, I have actually finished my chores (with the exception of vacuuming the office because he has been asleep in his car seat in the office this whole time, so will do that after he wakes up). I also made HUGE headway on the office--looks about 1000X better already! I even baked the brownies!!! Dh called to say Hi, and I told him I think I've gotten more accomplished in the past few hours than I've accomplished in the past two weeks! Yeay! Now I can truly enjoy playing with Sam and visiting with our company--how great is that?!!! :nod:
Well, today I really feel like socializing, but I'm not sure if that's gonna happen. Yesterday I got so much housework done and my friend who's a SAHM close by came over and dh got out of work at a reasonable time, so it was really a fantastic day all around. Today I kinda want a repeat (minus all the housework--shame on me!), but dh went in a bit late so he'll probably end up staying a little late and I have another friend who is older and only works part-time and since she works most Saturdays she usually has Fridays off, but I'm not sure if today is one of those days. I may call her later to see.
So, already today I am running the dishwasher, packed dh's lunch, changed and fed Sam, made the bed, and gathered up laundry. Just have to drag the laundry bags to the basement and filler 'er up! I also should iron the cloth I bought to make a curtain in the bathroom. If I don't get a chance to socialize, then I should probably pick up paint at lowe's for the bathroom (that's the latest room we are trying to salvage!) and maybe work on scrubbing/prepping the walls/cabinets/ceiling, etc. Have a wonderful day, Ladies--and HAPPY WEEKEND!!!:sunny:
I want some socializing too! I know Caroline will want to play with her best friend next door, but being as said friend's mother is almost 9 months pregnant, she doesn't have enough energy to keep up with the girls while they are riding bikes or swinging or whatever, so I end up chasing both of them/pushing both of them/referreeing all the arguments, and I'm really not in the mood for that (it sounds awful, I know, and I don't intend it that way, but I just did all the referreeing and the like yesterday so I want a break!). So after we do some grocery shopping and I put fresh sheets on my bed, maybe we'll go to the park or something.
Shel
The boys are going to their dad's today, so I'll be less 2 kids. I need to make out a grocery list and maybe even go to the store today :( But hey, I would only have to take 2 kids instead of 4 :woo:
Other than that I have a ton of scrapping projects on my desk and so I'm going to play today and tomorrow!
I had plans to stay in today since we were running out and about all this week! However, according to theweatherchannel.com, it suppose to be 57 degrees...which usually means it'll be a couple degrees warmer than that. If that's the case I would like to try to take the girls to the park.
~This morning, I included Alexia's school pics in with the thank you cards from her bday, and they are now in the mail. :)
~Today I also want to wash all the sheets! I must do this! Another load or 2 of laundry I'll try to do as well. The laundry just never ends does it?
~I bought the girls a crapload of clothes at the mall the other day, so I want to unload them into their closet.
~I would also like to vacuum (I have yet to try doing the stairs with the Dyson..and I'm actually excited to do it! :lol: ).
~ Making up more files and/or unload another box or two, I will try to do today as well.
~ Oh, and I have to decide what to make for dinner. I have chicken cutlets, just have to decide on what to make with them. Hmmmm....
I did everything on my list yesterday except exercise, so I am out the door in a few minutes to do that today.
I have had a very productive morning so far! It is the first morning this week that I haven't had to rush out the door before 9am, so it felt good to stay and and sort of relax.
I did another load of laundry, cleaned the kitchen, made the bed, straightened up Jackson's toys, read him about 1,000,000 books, played "doggies" with him (we both pretend we are dogs and I chase him around the house), ate a healthy breakfast and checked my email. He is now watching The Wiggles while I get dressed (and hop on here for a minute as a reward).
Today's list:
clean cat dishes/cat room (never got to that the other day)
scoop litter
re-install carseat in the car (if we decide to go any where)
finally finish all of the laundry
cook dinner
clean bathrooms
