I was wondering how many activities outside of the home do you have your child(ren) attend.

one. Aidan will start swim lessons again, but they are at night, with DH. I cant take 3 kids to any activities....its just not in the budget and I dont have the manpower  So we do what we can that is free and that I can handle. :dunno: And I belong to a MOMS Club and a neighborhood playgroup, so we get our socialization that way...free.

Both girls have swimming lessons. Maggie swims without me, so Katie and I watch. Then Maggie spends a little time in the nursery while I swim with Katie.

Other than that, we don't have any activities like that. Although I love it when they have free days!

We do storytime at the library, and Caroline will hopefully be starting dance lessons in the summer.

My kids go to church on Sundays. Ellie is in the Sunday school and Ian is in the nursery. I also go to MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) and the kids are both in childcare for that, too. In Ellie's class, they actually do little story times and arts and crafts. :)

I do a lot of classes with Jackson...mostly b/c up until recently I didn't know anyone else with kids, and I wanted to meet people for both of us. Right now we do Kindermusik on Wednesday mornings, and swimming lessons on Saturday mornings (with Scott...I HATED doing swimming alone!).

Up until a couple weeks ago we did "gymnastics" at the Y and Babies and Books at the Library as well. I decided to stop gymnastics until Jackson can move up to the next class (when he is 19 months), b/c the younger class is at a bad time for us. We also stopped going to Babies and Books b/c it was really lame and Jackson seemed bored the whole time - I was mad about this b/c B&B was the only class that was free.

I am also part of a Mom's group that meets once a week for playgroup, so I try to attend that every week as well. In April we start Strollerstrides, but that is acutally more of a class for me, I am hoping Jackson will tolerate it, b/c I need the exercise.

Mondays both boys are in daycare :)

Tuesday afternoons we have playgroup (after school so I take all 3 kids).

Wednesday Harry has dance class in the morning and swimming in the afternoon.

Thursday morning is storytime at the library.

Friday Harry is in daycare and Sam and I normally just stay home.

Saturday morning I take Emily to ballet while Alex takes Sam to his swimming class.

Jordan has preschool five mornings a week, and Blake goes to a music class (city sponsered = cheap) on Thursday AM with me, and then we go to a Mommy and Me Shabbat at Jordans school on Friday mornings.

I feel like I should do more, but Blake is still taking 2 naps a day so that limits when about how much we are out of the house.

Alexia has preschool (2 hrs. 40 min. each day) on Mondays & Wednesdays.

Then this Thursday starts storytime at the library that's once a week.

And in April we will have her in gymnastics once a week. She use to go to The Little Gym since she was an infant (we took summers off) but when we moved there is none around here. She started taking a high interest in the gymnastics part of it anyway (balance beam, uneven bars, etc.), so it's meant to be that she'll be starting gymnastics. :)

Then in the summertime she would do swim lessons, but I don't think we'll be doing that anymore, as my parents are getting a pool in another mo. or two and we'll be spending alot of time in it.

Lets see... Tylor (10 in May) Alyssa (3)

Monday Tylor goes to Piano and has a dinner Date with Grandma and pepaw (alone..no sister)

Tuesday we have a play date with friends from 5-8pm

Wednesday Tylor has presbee's (youth club) and Alyssa goes to grandma's and has a dinner Date with grandma and pepaw!

Friday again a play date with friends

Saturday night they go with my parents together to one of my mom's sisters and all of my mom's sisters are grandparents so they all have their grandchildren as well so it is all grandparents and grandchildren..(A great family thing) they spend the night and we meet them at church

Sunday they both have sunday school and church (alyssa goes to the nursery half way through service and Tylor goes to Children's church half way through)

Come fall Alyssa will have preschool 2 days a week and Tylor will have Soccer a lot. They both do swim lessons in April also.

* Alyssa and I used to just go on drives (about an hour or so) before I worked because we hated being cooped up in the house *

I belong to Moms club and a local Moms group, so we do stuff through those 2. Plus, we belong to the Y and go swimming.

I can get a discount at Gymboree Play and Music, but it's a 25 minute drive so I'm still debating that.

I'm looking to start Avery in preschool in the fall.

We have Cameron enrolled in Gymboree Play on Mondays and then a local music class on Fridays.

For the other days, we get annual passes to various places (zoo, Six Flags which is 5 minutes from our house, and the Shedd Aquarium) and rotate those throughout the week as well as the playground with various friends. We also take advantage of Open Gym time at Gymboree which is free with your classes. They also go to a local beach which only costs a few dollars to get in, but that is at summertime only.

My DH is the SAH parent, but I have gotten to do a lot of these outings while on maternity leave. Cameron really has a ball and loves to see his friends.

Here is his typical schedule:

Monday - Gymboree
Tuesday - Playdate at various locations or someones house in winter. Usually always at the park in summer.
Wednesday - Open Gym at Gymboree at night with some of his friends
Thursday - Either Six Flags, beach, or zoo playdate in the summer
Friday - Music class right now, don't know if we will continue in Summer
Weekends - We usually do something on the weekend since I don't usually get to enjoy all the weekly activites.

My kids are deprived  Riley just started going to storytime every other week at the library. Kaleb plays soccer in the fall and basketball during winter at school, goes to band at school twice a week (he's homeschooled) and Jake goes to karate. That's it. With 4 kids and a husband who works nights, it's impossible to do more and I'm not going to kill myself to drive everyone 1,000 different places.

Well, I don't SAH, but I'm still going to butt in... I take Caroline to a music class on Fridays and we just started My Gym last week on Thurs. pm, but I will probably end up having our nanny Rachel take her to that sometimes if I am at work... they have open gym time twice a week too, so we may do that from time to time. Rachel takes them both to storytime at the library most Tues. and Thurs. and Courtney is not in any activities yet... she sometimes comes to music with us. Caroline is going to preschool in the fall, and maybe I'll start one activity for Court then, but who knows, she is still really little. I really want to do swimming lessons for Caroline, but for now, she is booked enough IMO... They go to Sea World all the time (it is only about a mile from my house) and also to the aquarium b/c we have passes, so they get a lot of outings.

Like Shel, my girls are totally deprived of 'official' activities! I am in college two days a week (will be 3 days/week in May & June) and so on Mondays and Wednesdays they stay at my mom & dad's. We just joined the Y, so Tues & Thur mornings I try to make it to the gym, and they play in the childwatch area. Emily used to go to story time at the library, but they only do it Sept through April, and when she moved up an age group it moved her story time to Wed, when I have class. This fall I'll have class on Tue/Thur, so hopefully we can do story time again, but that's just once a month.

We mainly hang out at home playing, or go to the mall and walk, stuff like that. Now that it's getting nice outside and Molly is older, I'm looking forward to doing more 'fun' things! Emily is starting swim lessons this weekend, and when her session is done I'll do lessons with Molly.

The boys play baseball and soccer. Lily always has some form of dance class or another. They all take swimming lessons. We have preschool 2 days a week. A playdate once a week. 2 days a week at the gym. I try to spend one day a week at my husbands unit where i am the family coordinator. I do shopping and other errands on Mondays or Fridays.

We go to storytime once a week and have at least one playdate every week. In the fall she'll be taking dance lessons. (and maybe a music class)

To answer my own question... Cameron goes to preschool 4 days a week. He is there on Monday, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. He will be in the extended year program and will be going to school until Mid August, have a couple of weeks off and then start his next year.

Alex is not in an activites yet. I am waiting until the fall when I know what schedule Cameron will be on. Right now he is in the PM preschool class (which I don't like because it is in the middle of the day (12-2:30). I am going to ask that he be in a morning class next school year.

I am thinking about getting Cameron into gymnastics or dance just to use his energy up.
