I just decided to check out a talbots kids store today for the first time, and I really liked some things. Wanted to know if anyone has bought from there, and how sizing runs and how good of quality the clothes are. I also wanted to know if anyone knew about sales there. We found a beautiful orange spring dress that we fell in love with, but the smallest it came was a 3...and it was $78...and we just can't see spending that much on a dress she won't be able to wear for at least 2 years...but if it gets marked down to like $50 we definitely would buy it to put away.

I've never bought anything there, but John got an outfit from there as a gift when he was about 2 months old. It was definitely high quality, and one of the cutest outfits he had at that age. Also (and I suspect you'll like this :) ), I think their clothes must run small, because he was just barely coming out of preemie sizes by then, but this was a 0-3 outfit and fit him well.

I've found the quality to be great and agree that they seem to run a bit small.

Well, I'm bumping this up to say we gave in and bought the dress...they happened to have it in a size 2 and we just couldn't walk away from it...we ended up having to pay full price, but it is pretty so it was worth it.
It's the orange one.

I also *REALLY* want this dress in a size 2 and will buy it if they have any left when they go on sale (june 17th is what the sales people said).

I bought my daughter her bathing suit there, as well as an eyelet romper and one piece outfit. I found things to fit pretty good and the quality to be very good...although for the $$ I'd just as soon shop at Janie and Jack.

Just bumping in......we love Talbots kids. The clothing is of a great quality and it still looks like it's made for kids (vs. some of the stuff out there looks like it is made for little teenagers or adults) which I love! They also have some great sales.

I love Talbots Kids but don't always find a lot there for my son (I tend to buy funkier clothes). But what I have bought it always great quality - I agree it does tend to run a bit small in tops, although at least one pair of pants were the longest of any of that size in his closet. Maybe a fluke? I noticed because they were so long he never could wear them.
Haven't shopped there yet for DD, but I will!!

I think they make great quality stuff but the prices are a bit high. We tend to shop their sales and have really liked the stuff we got. It wears very well! My biggest complaint is that they make about 5x as much girl stuff as boy stuff.

Yah, that's the case with so many places and Talbots seems especially bad about it. Boys totally get the shaft, and they could be making a ton off of me, because I love buying clothes for my son.

Ooh, I LOVE those dresses! :aok: I've poked my head in there, but as seems to be the case with most places...the girl stuff is much cuter than the boy stuff. Or the boy stuff is too cutesy for my tastes.
